Tata Play Binge launches micro-drama hub ‘Shots’

Tata Play Binge is sharpening its play for idle minutes. The streaming aggregator has rolled out Shots, a dedicated destination for vertical, mobile-only micro-dramas, stitching together one- to two-minute episodes designed for commutes, queues and coffee breaks.

Available at no extra cost to all active Tata Play Binge subscribers, Shots debuts with more than 160 titles across action, drama and thriller genres, aggregating over 110 hours of short-form content. Early partners Bullet and STAGE are on board, with more creators expected to join in the coming months.

The new category is built entirely for the scroll. Vertical video, auto-next playback and a swipe-friendly interface keep viewing friction low. Shots sits inside the Tata Play Binge app, surfaced through homepage rails and a standalone section, allowing viewers to snack on stories without hopping between apps or subscriptions.

At launch, the slate spans Hindi and regional languages including Tamil, Telugu, Bengali and Marathi. Titles range from Ishq Kills, Divorce Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega and Rent A Boyfriend in Hindi, to One Last Ride in Telugu, alongside regional offerings such as 12vi Aala Pyar, Gaurav Ki Sweety, Aafat Ya Pyar and Horror Haveli.

Pallavi Puri, chief commercial and content officer at Tata Play, said short-form vertical storytelling has moved rapidly into the mainstream as viewing sessions shrink and frequency rises. Shots, she said, brings micro-dramas from multiple partners into a single, seamless destination, while helping creators reach wider audiences through aggregation rather than fragmentation.

The launch adds a short-form layer to Tata Play Binge’s long-form catalogue, reinforcing its pitch as one of India’s most comprehensive OTT aggregators. The platform already bundles 30-plus apps, from Prime Video and JioHotstar to regional and niche services, under a single interface.

In a market crowded with endless scrolling, Tata Play Binge is making its wager clear: when attention spans get shorter, the smartest move is to serve drama in shots, not seasons.
