Pocket FM finds its voice as audio stories come alive on Alexa
MUMBAI: Stories are getting a little more vocal. Audio series platform Pocket FM has switched on voice-led listening with its integration on Amazon Alexa, making its entire library of episodic audio stories accessible to Alexa users across India.
With a simple command “Alexa, start Pocket FM” listeners can now dive into long-form audio fiction on Echo smart speakers and smart displays, turning kitchens, bedrooms and living rooms into story zones. India is the first market to roll out the integration, underlining Pocket FM’s push to make audio storytelling a natural part of daily routines.
The experience is designed to be friction-free. Existing users can link their Pocket FM accounts via the Alexa app and pick up exactly where they left off, while new listeners can browse genres, discover recommendations and start from episode one without signing in. Several hours of content are available free, with Alexa gently guiding listeners if they choose to continue beyond paywalls using Pocket FM’s subscription or coin-based options.
Pocket FM says voice access adds continuity to long-form listening, allowing audiences to move between devices without breaking the narrative flow. For Alexa, the partnership expands its already popular audio offering, giving households easy access to everything from thrillers to fantasy with nothing more than a spoken prompt.
With its full catalogue now live on Alexa, Pocket FM is betting that when stories are this easy to start, stopping becomes the hard part.
