Neeraj Chopra hurls his javelin at Vel Sports Management
HARYANA: Neeraj Chopra is switching teams. India’s Olympic javelin champion announced on Instagram that he has signed with Vel Sports Management as his new official partner, bringing an end to speculation about his representation.
The Tokyo gold medallist, who has been negotiating the deal since 2023, says Vel Sports aligns with his values of trust, accountability and long-term vision for sport. The agency’s athlete-first approach and commitment to holistic growth sealed the partnership, according to Chopra.
But management is only part of the picture. Chopra is doubling down on his off-field ambitions with the Neeraj Chopra Foundation, aimed at giving back to the community and society. The foundation will focus on creating an athlete-first ecosystem that supports competitors at every stage of their careers—a cause born from Chopra’s own journey through Indian athletics.
The dual initiatives mark a pivot for the 27-year-old, who is now eyeing opportunities beyond the throwing circle whilst maintaining his competitive edge. With Vel Sports and his foundation working in tandem, Chopra is building an empire that extends far beyond gold medals.
