NEW DELHI: The Kabaddi Champions League is going big from day one. The player auction for its inaugural season, scheduled for December 28, will be broadcast live on DD Sports and streamed on Zee5 and Wave, throwing the doors open to fans across television screens and smartphones alike.

The league is betting on reach and noise. DD Sports brings the auction to India’s widest free-to-air audience, while Zee5 and Wave target a younger, digital-first crowd. Fans can also follow every bid and break on the official YouTube channels of Kabaddi Champions League and DD Sports.

The auction is a crucial step in building the league’s first season. All eight franchises will lock in their squads from a pool of players identified through state leagues and grassroots trials, turning years of hard graft into contracts, cameras and careers.

“This is where the future of kabaddi begins,” said a league representative. “From Prasar Bharati’s television network to Zee5, Wave and YouTube, we want fans everywhere to feel part of the journey from the very first call.”

By blending national broadcast muscle with digital scale, KCL is positioning itself as a league for everyone. The auction is not just about price tags and paddles, but about ambition, access and momentum.

December 28 will set the tone. The bids will fly, dreams will change hands and kabaddi will announce itself — loud, live and impossible to ignore.
