Code to cash Stashfin bets on AI as Abhishek Gupta takes CTO helm

MUMBAI: If money moves at the speed of code, Stashfin has just upgraded its engine. Stashfin has appointed Abhishek Gupta as its chief technology officer, tasking him with steering the platform’s technology, data and AI stack as it enters its next phase of growth.

Gupta steps in with a track record forged across high-scale, consumer-facing digital businesses. His résumé spans senior technology roles at Zupee, Creditas Solutions, Ibibo Group, and Times Internet, a career built on scaling resilient platforms, pushing AI from pilots into production, and running large engineering teams under pressure.

At Stashfin, Gupta will oversee end-to-end technology execution, from cloud-native architecture and cybersecurity to data platforms and product engineering. The brief is clear: ensure the systems stay fast, secure and cost-efficient as customer numbers and transaction volumes rise.

A major thrust of his mandate is moving AI from buzzword to backbone. Rather than treating artificial intelligence as a side experiment, Stashfin is embedding it across engineering and operations using AI-assisted coding and automated quality checks to shorten development cycles, intelligent CRM workflows to sharpen customer engagement, and data-driven collections tools that fine-tune timing and channels.

Beyond speed, security is central to the agenda. Gupta’s remit includes application and cloud security, data protection and governance, aimed at keeping the platform compliant and resilient as it scales. He will also work closely with product and business teams to ensure technology decisions translate into tangible outcomes, not just technical elegance.
