Sintex marks 50 years with Guinness World Record
MUMBAI: On its golden jubilee, Sintex, India’s most trusted name in water management, marked the milestone by creating a Guinness World Record for mobilising over 31,000 people in just 24 hours to pledge responsible water use.
The nationwide campaign turned the simple act of taking an online pledge, into a powerful collective statement on one of India’s most pressing challenges: access to clean, safe water and the prevention of waterborne diseases.
Speaking on the achievement, Sintex director and Welspun BAPL Ltd managing director Yashovardhan Agarwal said, “This is an iconic moment for Sintex, with 50 years of legacy and leadership in water storage. Through this initiative, we’re inspiring individuals to make a simple yet powerful commitment, to store both drinking and non-drinking water hygienically, preventing contamination and safeguarding families’ health. Every pledge is a step towards a more responsible and water-conscious India.”
India continues to bear a heavy health burden from unsafe water, with diarrhoea accounting for nearly 13 per cent of deaths among children under five. Sintex’s movement brings together purpose, innovation, and people power to drive change from the ground up.
Participants across the country joined through a digital microsite, affirming their pledge to store and clean water responsibly, one tank, one tap, and one household at a time.
For over five decades, Sintex has been synonymous with reliability and innovation in India’s water management landscape. Beyond its iconic storage tanks, the company now offers comprehensive water solutions spanning transmission, storage, and sanitation. Its tanks are made from 100 per cent food-grade virgin plastic, ensuring safer water and shielding families from harmful toxins found in recycled materials.
With this record-setting milestone, Sintex has done more than celebrate a legacy, it’s sparked a nationwide ripple of awareness, reminding everyone that every drop, and every choice, counts.
