MUMBAI: Three months after HDIL Group sold its two channels to Pune-based Prosperity Agro, Live India and Mi Marathi CEO and editor Sudhir Chaudhary has quit the company.
Confirming the development, Chaudhary said that the deal with Prosperity Agro was finalised in March. He said that he “is leaving on a “good note” and “was waiting for the Hindi news channel Live India to be on the right track”.
“I have resigned from the company now as the channel is back on track and there is right financial stability. I have been with the company since 5 years and wanted to move on for other commitments,” he said.
This is the second time that the ownership of Live India and Mi Marathi has changed ownership. The two channels were launched by Sri Adhikari Brothers under Broadcast Initiative and were later sold to real-estate firm HDIL. Now HDIL has sold the channels it to Prosperity Agro.
On his next move, Chaudhary said that he will remain in the news space, but will be sharing the plans in couple of weeks.
Chaudhary had joined Live India (then Janmat TV) in March 2007. He has close to two decades of experience in the news business, having started his career at Zee News in 1993. He also has worked with Sahara Samay and India TV.
