  • ZEE5 to launch new series ‘Dhoop Ki Deewar’ on 25 June

    New Delhi: The countdown to the launch of Zindagi’s third original web series ‘Dhoop Ki Deewar’ has begun. The new series will be launched on 25 June and its episodes will premiere every Friday at 12 noon, ZEE5 announced on Wednesday.

    ‘Dhoop Ki Deewar’ revolves around the void that war leaves behind for the martyrs’ families on both sides of the border. ZEE5 has decided to stream the finale episodes on the Independence Day weekend – a historic day for people on both sides of the Indo-Pak border and South-Asian diaspora globally.

    ZEE5 India, chief business officer, Manish Kalra said, “An opportunity to tell such a powerful yet touching story does not come by easily. Through ‘Dhoop Ki Deewar’, we want to touch as many lives as we can and start a conversation about ‘heart over hate’.     MUMBAI: ZEE Entertainment is bringing back its content brand Zindagi on its digital entertainment platform ZEE5. This will include premium content with a global appeal.

    Zindagi was originally a TV channel launched in 2014 by the Zee network, which showed Pakistani and Turkish dramas. However, due to political reasons, the channel had to shut in 2017 and the brand moved online.

    This time, Zindagi is returning with its original content library as well as fresh new shows which will be thought provoking, with a bold multicultural narrative.

  • ZEEL shifts Zindagi to VoD

    MUMBAI: Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd. (ZEEL) has announced its decision to move its premium Hindi entertainment channel Zindagi from the television broadcast platform to its video-on-demand platform OZEE from 1 July 2017.

    This move has been announced with the objective to expand digital engagement with the audience who thrive on time-shifted viewing. With this, Zee is focussed on owning the full extent of the consumer’s premium and personal video experience.

    Zindagi will be exclusive on OZEE and showcase the best content in different genres from across the world with narratives which highlight the universality of emotions. The shows that will be available exclusively on OZEE and will include the popular shows Snowdrop, Descendants of the Sun, A Love Story and Total Dreamer. The original productions of Zindagi will also be available on OZEE.

    MUMBAI: Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd. (ZEEL) has signed a deal for four blockbuster television series with the international content distributor, Eccho Rights.

    Zee has got the rights to broadcast several hit Turkish dramas as well as the blockbuster Ukrainian series, Snowdrop, that has launched on Zindagi on 16 January at 9pm.

    The first Ukrainian series to be broadcast in India, ‘Snowdrop’ is made by Front Cinema Production and will air Monday- Saturday at 9pm. Snowdrop is based on the original format Ice Adonis, from Korean producers CJ E&M, and follows the story of two step-sisters divided by love and business interests.

    The show revolves around Nadya, an innocent, good hearted and hard working girl, who gets wrongly framed for an accident. Irina, her beautiful, spoilt and manipulative stepsister and the man that both of them are in love with is Igor. He is the heir to a cosmetics empire. A tragic accident kills Igor’s beloved sister. Igor, who loved Nadya loses all his trust in her after the ill-fated incident. Irina, takes advantage of the situation and convinces Igor to marry her.

    The drama starts with a very exciting jail break. In first episode, Nadya will be seen escaping prison and rushing to a hotel where she confronts Irina as she is getting engaged to Igor. The confrontation ends with the stepsisters handcuffed to each other, falling off a roof. As they fall, Nadya wonders how they came to this juncture in life and remembers her past. The show depicts Nadya’s fight to prove her innocence and get the real culprit punished.
