  • Zee TV’s new show ‘Pyaar Ka Pehla Naam Radha Mohan’ launches in Lucknow

Zee TV’s new show ‘Pyaar Ka Pehla Naam Radha Mohan’ launches in Lucknow

Mumbai: After introducing audiences to the heart-warming story of “Mithai” earlier this year, Zee TV is once again set to present a fresh narrative “Pyaar Ka Pehla Naam Radha Mohan.” The show was unveiled in front of the media at a mega launch event in Lucknow. Set for the premiere on 2 May, the show will air every Monday to Saturday at 8 p.m only on Zee TV.

“Pyaar Ka Pehla Naam Radha Mohan” will present a mature romance based in modern-day Vrindavan and will introduce viewers to Mohan, played by popular TV star Shabir Ahluwalia. In deep-seated awe of Mohan from her adolescent years, Radha, on the other hand, is a spiritual and optimistic girl, played by Neeharika Roy. With several intriguing layers and dimensions to its plot, “Pyaar Ka Pehla Naam Radha Mohan” will follow Radha’s journey of rekindling the lost spark in Mohan’s eyes and bringing back his smile.

Apart from Shabir Ahluwalia and Neeharika Roy, the show also boasts of an exciting ensemble cast including the likes of Swati Shah, Sambhabhana, Keerti Nagpure and Manisha Purohit among other talented actors. The show is produced by Studio LSD Productions.

“The idea behind this launch is to strengthen our core primetime with a fresh story at 8 p.m while taking ‘Kashibai Bajirao Ballal’ to 10 p.m with the show entering a completely new phase of its narrative following the recent leap,” said Zee TV business head Aparna Bhosle. “‘Pyaar Ka Pehla Naam Radha Mohan’ is a mature romance centred around a complete charmer whose mere presence could uplift the spirits of everyone around but has now forgotten to smile.”

“The show explores the journey of reviving his lost spark. We are happy to partner with LSD Films in bringing this show to our viewers who’ll be thrilled to see their favorite actor Shabir Ahluwalia in this new avatar after winning their hearts as Abhi for over seven  years. With exciting high points planned across all our key fiction shows and ‘DID L’il Masters’ opening up to a warm welcome, audiences have a lot to look forward to on Zee TV all through the week,” Bhosle further added.

Shabir Ahluwalia said, “I have never shied away from taking on a different character. In fact, I am always excited and enthusiastic about such a role. I personally love the way Mohan’s character has been written. Mohan is a strong, well-defined yet challenging character with several different shades. I am happy that we were able to give a small glimpse of our show to our media friends and the lovely people of Lucknow and their response was truly overwhelming.”

Neeharika Roy added, “I am thankful to Zee TV for giving me this mega opportunity. I will do my best to do justice to Radha’s character and I am really very excited to play this character. In fact, I relate to my character of Radha, who is a very religious girl, just like me. It has been lovely working with Shabir Sir and the whole cast and crew. However, seeing the audience’s reaction in Lucknow has been the best experience of our journey till now.”

“After presenting audiences with a heart-warming narrative like ‘Teri Meri Ikk Jindri,’ our next show with Zee TV revolves around Radha and Mohan’s layered and intriguing love story based in modern-day Vrindavan,” commented LSD Productions producer Prateek Sharma. “The show has a lot of dimensions ranging from a unique mother-son bond, an estranged father-daughter relationship, alliances forged with vested interests, one-sided love that borders on devotion and more importantly, the story of a man who has forgotten to smile and the journey of reviving his lost spark. We are hopeful that with all the surprises in store for the audience as the story progresses, the viewers will connect with Radha and Mohan’s journey and shower them with a lot of love.”

  • Zee TV challenges gender stereotypes in its new show

Zee TV challenges gender stereotypes in its new show

Mumbai: The portrayal of women on the small screen has always been a subject of intense debate. Some draw inspiration from the society, where women are often told to prioritise their marriage over their careers, or relegate their careers when it comes to making a choice.

Zee TV is hoping to challenge some of these stereotypes in its fiction show – “Iss Mod Se Jaate Hain.” The show is an attempt to make audiences reconsider their approach towards women achieving more than their male counterparts, according to the channel.

The story is told from the eyes of Paragi Parashar, the female protagonist who along with her love interest Sanjay Pathak, is preparing for her UPSC exam. While both of them are extremely motivated towards their joint goal of becoming IAS officers, the show captures the dynamics between the two families after Paragi clears her exam with flying colours and Sanjay doesn’t.

The show is set to air every Monday – Saturday at 6:30 p.m, starting 6 December.

Zee TV Business head Aparna Bhosle said, “It is a dramatic love story that presents an interesting scenario where the girl is a step ahead of the boy in terms of career accomplishments. Our show captures the diverse reactions the couple faces from both sides of the family and the impact it will have on their relationship.”

“Iss Mod Se Jaate Hain” will feature actress Akshita Mudgal who will be portraying the role of Paragi, a smart, witty, and studious girl. On the other hand, the role of Sanjay will be played by none other than Hitesh Bharadwaj.

“Our last association with Zee TV was the gloriously successful ‘Zindagi Ki Mahek,’ so now we’re excited to present audiences with the new show,” said producer Saurabh Tewari from Parin Multimedia. “The story touches upon a problematic social construct where a man is free to prioritise his career, but a woman is often told to focus on her marriage and not over-achieve, lest she should end up making her husband insecure and risk jeopardising her marriage. We would be happy if the show manages to make viewers introspect and reconsider their views on gender equality.”

Zee TV creates conversations around new show ‘Aggar Tum Na Hote’ on Instagram

Mumbai: Building on the launch of its new show “Aggar Tum Na Hote” on 9 November, Zee TV introduced a special social media campaign – the #AggarTumNaHote movement to give viewers a platform to acknowledge the contribution of that one special person who has been a Niyati in their life, standing by their side and egging them on through their toughest times.

The campaign is inspired by the show’s storyline and lead characters. Airing every Monday to Friday at 10:30 p.m, “Aggar Tum Na Hote” is the story of a mentally unstable, rich, young man, Abhimanyu Pandey (played by Himanshu Soni) whose only ray of hope is his nurse Niyati Mishra (played by Simaran Kaur) who refuses to give up on him even after the senior-most doctors have thrown up their hands.

The movement was well-received on social media as several actors of the television industry such as Anita Hassanandani, Karan Wahi, Deepika Singh, Ravi Dubey and Krystle D’Souza joined the conversation on Instagram to acknowledge the special Niyatis of their life. While some acknowledged their friends and family as their motivational force, others made use of the platform provided by the movement to thank their colleagues and doctors.

Zee TV announces two new primetime shows

Mumbai: Zee TV has announced two new shows “Aggar Tum Na Hote” and “Tere Bina Jiya Jaaye Na” that will premiere on 9 November. “Aggar Tum Na Hote” will air every Monday to Friday at 10:30 p.m and “Tere Bina Jiya Jaaye Na” will air between 10 and 11 p.m.

“Our upcoming show – ‘Aggar Tum Na Hote’ explores an unusual dynamic between its lead protagonists where a dedicated nurse becomes the last ray of hope for a mentally unstable young man after even the best of doctors give up on him,” said Zee TV business head Aparna Bhosle. “Does her unwavering determination to cure him stem from a connection they share in the past? Viewers will have to watch the show to find out! We hope to strengthen our late primetime band with two new offerings ‘Aggar Tum Na Hote’ and ‘Tere Bina Jiya Jaaye Na’ between 10 and 11 p.m.”

The show tells the story of a mentally unstable, rich, young man whose only ray of hope is his nurse who refuses to give up on him after even the senior-most doctors have thrown up their hands. Himanshu Soni has been roped to play the role of Abhimanyu Pandey who will be joined by co-star Simaran Kaur who will play the character of Niyati.

“’Aggar Tum Na Hote’ is all about having that one person in life that doesn’t give up on you, even if everyone else does,” said the show producers Jatin Sethi, Mahesh Pandey, and Piyush Gupta. “It is sometimes these relentlessly optimistic motivators and support systems that help us come out and tide over our challenges. So, we have a very interesting dynamic between our two lead protagonists which should give us a fantastic canvas for storytelling.”

“To be honest, when I was approached for the role, I was quite taken aback by the story because while we’ve seen a few films on mentally unstable people, there aren’t too many TV shows that come to mind,” said Himanshu Soni. “My character has an impenetrable depth with layers that viewers will gradually peel and get to see over a period of time.”

“Niyati’s character has quite an intense touch to it since it is a blend of a zestful personality alongside being a responsible, care-giving nurturer,” said Simaran Kaur. “Having an optimistic, pragmatic approach to problems is something both Niyati and I (Simaran) have in common. The show has a beautiful story to narrate, and I hope I am able to bring it alive for the audiences in the most authentic manner.”
