  • Colors returns to No. 2 after 4 weeks

MUMBAI: Viacom18‘s Hindi general entertainment channel (GEC) Colors returned to the second position in the GEC hierarchy after four weeks, helped by the finale weekend of the celebrity dancing reality show.

Colors found itself one position higher in a week as it it held on to its 233 gross rating points (GRPs) in a week that saw Hindi GECs shed 86 points. Zee TV lost viewership to slip to third position. So did Sony Entertainment Television (Set), which remained in the fourth position, as viewers moved away to watch T20 World Cup matches.

The GEC leader Star Plus, in fact, added 17 GRPs to register 268 GRPs, widening its lead in a close battle for leadership.

Star Plus‘ ‘Diya Aur Baati Hum‘ (6.7 TVR), which enjoys highest viewership among GEC shows, ‘Is Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon‘ (3 TVR) and ‘Pratigya‘ (2.6 TVR) saw an increase in their viewership. The channel premiered Hindi feature film ‘Ferrari Ki Sawari‘ on 23 September which earned ratings of 0.8 and 0.5 TVR at 12 pm and 8 pm airings, respectively.

As per TAM data (HSM, 4+, C&S) for week 39 ended 29 September, provided by the GECs, finale weekend of celebrity dancing reality show ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa‘, that winded up on 30 September 2012, clocked 3.5 TVR on 29 September aiding Colors to maintain its GRP tally at the previous week‘s level. Colors was at the second position in week 35.

Colors‘ reality property ‘India‘s Got Talent‘ that opened with 4.1 TVR on 22 September, recorded a lower 3.1 TVR in the week ended 29 September.

Zee TV was at the third position during the week with the channel having lost 18 GRPs to close the week with 217 GRPs. The channel‘s flagship singing reality show ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa‘ made a debut on 29 September with 2.5 TVRs, as the audience got fragmented due to strong competing shows in ‘KBC‘ and ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa‘ in the same time slot.

Lintas Media Group head of planning-Mumbai Dhirendra Singh said, “The channel saw fragmentation in audience because of the telecast of ‘KBC‘ and ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa‘ at 9-10 pm slot. This fragmentation of audience will continue to happen and the channels will have to fight within this. In fact it will increase because Colors is launching Bigg Boss and lots of movie premieres are going to happen in the 9 pm slot during weekends.”

Zee‘s ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa‘ replaced ‘Dance Ke Superkids‘ that aired its finale episode on 23 September and notched 3.9 TVR. Other properties of Zee TV like ‘Fear Files‘ (2 TVR),‘Pavitra Rishta‘ (2.6 TVR) have seen a dip in viewership.

Set lost 30 GRPs and ended the week with 202 GRPs as almost all the shows of the channel have seen a drop in ratings. Its top rated fiction show ‘Bade Ache Lagte Hain‘ fetched 3.7 TVRs (previous week 4.7). Its crime-based properties C.I.D and Crime Patrol fell below 3 TVR-mark during the week.

Next in the ranking is Life OK with unchanged 124 GRPs. Sab with 122 GRPs (previous week 131) follows. Sahara One with 34 GRPs (last week 29) remains at the bottom.

The Hindi GEC genre lost viewers for the second consecutive week to live ICC T20 World Cup cricket matches during evening prime-time. Hindi GECs lost 86 GRPs during the week as live T20 matches weaned away viewership.

  • Battle for 2nd spot intense among Hindi GECs

Mumbai: The fight for the second spot among Hindi general entertainment channels (GECs) is intense. Zee TV, Sony Entertainment Television (Set) and Colors are separated from each other by just a few points, with Star Plus ahead of the pack.

As per TAM data (HSM, C&S, 4+) for week 38, provided by Hindi GECs, Star Plus is the leader with 252 GRPs (last week 250 gross ratings points). The fiction shows of the channel have not seen much change in viewership except ‘Diya Aur Bati Hum’ which notched 6 TVR (last week 5.3 TVR) in the week ended 22 September.

Second in the Hindi GEC hierarchy is Zee TV that winded up its dancing property ‘Dance Ke Superkids’ on 23 September (Sunday). The Saturday (22 September) episode of the show, which was part of the finale week, clocked 4.3 TVR. The channel lost five GRPs to close the week with 235 GRPs. Its fiction properties like ‘Pavitra Rishta’ (3.1 TVR) and ‘Punarvivaha’ (2.5 TVR) have seen slight dip in the viewership.

  • Zee eyes Rs 1 bn from Sa Re Ga Ma Pa 2012

MUMBAI: After a gap of two years, Zee TV is all set to woo its audience with the new season of its oldest flagship property ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa 2012’.

Produced by Esselvision, ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa 2012’ will start on 29 September and will be aired every Saturday and Sunday at 9 pm.

The channel has roped in 9 sponsors for the show. Continuing to present the show is Hero while the channel is in talks with a couple of brands for the powered by sponsorship and is expected to close the deals soon. Zee TV has got seven associate sponsors on board which include Ferraro Rocher, Tata Motors (Consumer Vehicles), Lux undergarments, Kraft Kitchenware, Toshiba Color TV, Dell laptops and Microsoft. Intel has tied-up with the property as the technology partner.

“We are looking for one or two more associate sponsors depending on the category. It will either be an FMCG brand or a car brand,” Zee Entertainment Enterprises (Zeel) chief sales officer Ashish Sehgal said.

According to Sehgal, the property had made around Rs 650-700 million in its last season. “Sa Re Ga Ma Pa is expected to make around Rs 1 billion this year,” he added.

The channel has sold out 70 per cent of the Sa Re Ga Ma Pa inventory, which is being consumed by the sponsors themselves. The rest of the inventory will be sold to spot buyers.

    Marketing Blitz:

With plans to use the digital media the most, the channel has created applications like ‘Call & Sing App’. It is a Mobile + Facebook app which will enable the viewer to sing on their mobile phones, post the audio clip on the ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa 2012’ Facebook page as well as their own Timeline even when they are ‘on-the-go’.

“This app successfully integrates the ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa’ TV and web experience, giving individuals the ability to customise and engage simply. This will help to grow video-based user-generated content,” Zeel marketing head-national channels Akash Chawla said.

“The focus in ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa 2012’ is to connect better with the audiences, who watch the show and create a stronger relationship with them. Our view is that multiple touch-points can enhance a viewer’s experience. It’s been seen that rather than being a distraction, these interactive methods in the digital domain tend to be programme ‘companions’, enhancing the viewer’s brand experience. Our attempt is to make all ‘other screens’ an ally of the television instead of being its competitor,” Chawla added.

Among other initiatives are the ‘Hot or Not’ app where people will be singing one after the other and audiences rating them. There will be ‘interactive banners’ with jumbled lyrics that test their knowledge of music. The ‘Sur Tab’ will have ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Dha Ni Sa’ as syllables on a tab that can be arranged by a viewer to produce different music. Once arranged, the sur can be heard and shared by the viewer immediately. There will be different instruments every week to keep the experience a “refreshing” one.

The ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Mobile App’ will have a media gallery of videos and photos, singing and music tutorials by mentors, anchor and contestants. Here, the viewers will get an opportunity to chat regularly with the mentors, anchors and contestants. There will also be a ‘Did You Know’ option with trivia related to music. All these will also be available on the microsite, saregamapa.zeetv.com.

The channel is creating a roadblock on YouTube masthead on 28 September. It will also take-over on the ‘Yahoo’ site, through which the channel aims to drive maximum traffic towards the premiere of the show.

The premiere of ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa 2012’ is being promoted on DTH players like Dish TV, Airtel and Tata Sky. All Dish TV subscribers will directly tune into ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa 2012’ on Zee TV when they switch on their sets on 29 and 30 September from 9 to 9.30 pm to increase sampling.

The on-air campaign is being played out across Zee Network and also across news, music, Bollywood entertainment, Hindi movie and kids’ entertainment channels.

On radio, the show aims to “heighten interactivity” through contests, RJ links and creating characters based on the mentors.

    Content innovation:

The new season of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa promises to give audience more involvement in the show. As part of content innovation, the viewers have been given the opportunity to evaluate the performances with the use of voting meters. They have played a major role in selecting contestants through online auditions as well where a contestant’s entry depended on the number of ‘likes’ or ‘hits’ their uploaded video generated.

Zeel – content head (Hindi GECs) Ajay Bhalwankar said, “With ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa 2012’, our aim is to customise the viewing experience with increased levels of audience engagement. Viewers now prefer watching content that not only entertains but also involves them. So, we have taken the interactivity route by understanding their inherent interest in music. There is a special round in the show where we will change the style and the chords of a song and the contestants will have to improvise it to gauge their knowledge of music.”

Sa Re Ga Ma Pa 2012 will compete with big properties like Sony Entertainment Television’s Kaun Banega Crorepati 6 and Colors’ Jhalak Dikhhla Ja, which is going to end soon, and then Bigg Boss 6 which starts on 7 October. Star Plus airs its fiction property ‘Teri Meri Love Story’ in this slot.

Talking about how the channel plans to compete with the properties, Bhalwankar added, “It’s not about competition but primarily we felt the need to innovate. We wanted to give them a genuine reason for watching our show. The judges, band and kinds of songs have all been selected taking many things into consideration. Even the audience on the sets is real audience whose voting is considered.”

Taking the property to a bigger level, the stage set-up is like that of a concert with the musicians on the stage playing live as the contestants sing. To test the contestants’ music quotient and increase the level of competition, many elements will be introduced including changing the code or ‘sur’ of the song or throwing a request for a ‘jugalbandi’. A musical quiz contest will come on screens before every break and the answer will be given just before the opening of the next segment.

‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa 2012’ will be judged by music director duo, Sajid and Wajid, lead vocalist of the band Indian Ocean Rahul Ram and music composer and singer Shankar Mahadevan.

  • Life OK achieves its all-time high ratings

MUMBAI: Life OK, the second Hindi general entertainment channel (GEC) from the Star Network stable, has recorded its highest rating of 167 GRPs. The channel, which had opened with 87 GRPs in December 2011, has come a long way and its popular mythological show ‘Mahadev‘ has contributed immensely in its journey.

As per TAM data (HSM, C&S, 4+) provided by Hindi GECs, though there is no change in Life OK‘s position on GEC ladder (at No.5 in the hierarchy) but it added 26 GRPs to its last week‘s tally. The success can be attributed to the telecast of ‘Mahaepisode‘ of ‘Mahadev‘ on 9 September. The special episode of the show ran for an hour and garnered 8.2 TVR, highest recorded rating of any show in this year. The show averaged around 3.1 TVR as compared to 2.9 TVR in the previous week.

Star Plus is back as the leader of the flock. The channel has maintained status quo with 250 GRPs in the week ended 15 September. Its fiction shows continue to garner good numbers as ‘Diya Aur Baati Hum‘ (5.3 TVR) continues to be the most watched show on Indian television.

Despite the loss of 11 GRPs, taking the second leadership position is Zee TV. The fiction shows of the channel like Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke (2.1 TVR), Rab Se Sona Ishq (1.4 TVR), Mrs. Kaushik Ki Paanch Bahuein (2.2 TVR) have seen a marginal drop in their ratings. However, ‘Dance Ke Superkids‘ (4.6 TVR) continues to fetch increased eyeballs and is the highest rated show on the weekend prime-time.

There is a tie at the No. 3 position of GEC ranking. Both Colors and Sony Entertainment Television (Set) have notched 230 GRPs each. Colors added a GRP while Set ended the week with a loss of 14 GRPs.

Colors‘ ‘Balika Vadhu‘ has been holding onto its No.2 position in the ‘Top 10 shows‘ with 4.7 TVR (last week 5.1). ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati 6‘ saw a drop in its ratings in the following week. Though it opened with a 6.1 on 7 September (Friday), it clocked 3.9 TVR on 14 September (Friday). The Saturday (15 September) episode of the show rated 4.8 TVR while the Sunday episode (9 September) fetched 4.2 TVR.

The next in the GEC ladder is Sab that added a GRP to close the week with 137 GRPs.

Sahara-One with 34 GRPs (last week 36 GRPs) follows.

  • Zee TV shoots up to no 1, Sony sets new GRP record

MUMBAI: Zee TV has successfully battled the storm of new show launches on rival channels and has emerged as the leading Hindi general entertainment channel (GEC) again, after a gap of two weeks.

Zee TV added 24 GRPs to its last week’s tally to end the week with 251 GRPs. The channel had aired ‘Mahasangram’ of its fiction shows from 8.30 -10 pm on 7 September that rated an average of 3.5 TVR and contributed around 10.5 GRPs to its kitty. Other fiction shows on the channel have also seen an improvement in ratings.

“Zee has seen tremendous success with DID and the format has clicked well with the audiences ensuring repeat viewership for all their formats. The battle at the top 3 stands with a few GRPs differentiating the number one position and this looks like a weekly tug of war that we will see in the weeks to come,” says Mindshare principal partner -client leadership Anita Kotwani.

Though just a GRP away from Zee TV, Star Plus lost 15 GRPs to close the week with 250 GRPs. Its fiction properties like ‘Diya Aur Bati Hum’, ‘Teri Meri Love Story’ have seen dips in viewership.

Placed at No 3 is Sony Entertainment Television (Set) that has registered 244 GRPs (last week 210) in the week 36 of 2012 on the back of the launch of its biggest prime-time property ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ that has opened with 6.1 TVR. This is channel’s highest recorded rating in this year.

Taking the No 4 spot on the ladder is Colors, which was the number 2 channel last week in the genre. Its newly launched reality show, Sahara-One’s ‘Sur-Kshetra’, opened with 1.2 TVR on 8 September. The other fiction properties of the channel have also shaved some viewership numbers. However ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Ja’ clocked a 3.4 TVR (last week 2.8). Colors reported 229 GRPs (last week 244) in the week ended 8 September.

Life OK too reached its all time high ratings of this year. The channel that had opened with 87 GRPs in December 2011, recorded 141 GRPs (last week 132). Its mythological property ‘Mahadev’ continues to garner eyeballs and is averaging 3+ TVR.

Following Life OK is Sab that added five GRPs to notch up 136 GRPs.

Sahara-One maintained its position at No. 6, while adding one GRP to last week’s total of 35. ‘Sur-Kshetra’ – which it simulcasting with Colors – opened with a 0.3 TVR on the channel. Sahara-One had aired the singing reality show back-to-back on the day of the launch. The second airing of the show clocked 0.2 TVR.

  • Star Plus continues to rule the GEC genre

MUMBAI: The pecking order of the top four Hindi general entertainment channels (GECs) remains unchanged and Star Plus continues to lead the genre.

As per TAM data (HSM, C&S, 4+) provided by the Hindi GECs, Star Plus has added 11 GRPs to pocket 264 GRPs for the week ended 1 September. Its fiction shows continue to do well but the viewership of leading property ‘Diya Aur Baati Hum‘ dropped to 5.6 TVR from 6.7 TVR in the preceeding week.

Colors shed 14 GRPs but is still the second most watched channel in the genre backed by its fiction shows like ‘Balika Vadhu‘ (5.5 TVR), ‘Parichay‘ (2.6 TVR) and ‘Madhubala‘ (2.5 TVR) that have seen increase in eyeballs. The channel collected 244 GRPs for the week ended 1 September. Colors might see the performance bettering next week because it‘s launching Sahara-One‘s singing reality show ‘Sur-Kshetra‘ on 8 September.

Holding on to the No.3 position is Zee TV which lost 10 GRPs to end the week with 227 GRPs. The reason for the loss in numbers could be the fall in ratings of its newly launched shows like ‘Ramayana‘ and ‘Dance Ke Superkids‘. The epic show, which had opened with 2.7 TVR, had ratings of 1.3 in the week. Meanwhile, ‘Dance Ke Superkids‘ fell from 5.6 TVR to 4.4 TVR.

Sony Entertainment Television (Set) lost a GRP to record 210 GRPs. The grand finale episode of Indian Idol-6 that ran for almost two-and-a-half hours clocked 3.3 TVR on Saturday. Its most watched fiction show ‘Bade Ache Lagte Hai‘ rated 3.4 TVR (last week 3.3 TVR). The channel is launching its biggest game show, ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati -6‘, on 7 September. Hosted by Amtibach Bachan, the show is expected to up Sony‘s ratings and hierarchy in the Hindi GEC pecking order.

Life OK with 132 GRPs (last week 126) is the next in the ladder while just a GRP away is Sab with 131 GRPs (last week 126). Sahara One with 35 GRPs (last week 37) follows.

  • Colors moves up to No 2 courtesy soaps & Jhalak

MUMBAI: It had been pacing on the sidelines for the past seven weeks, waiting to reoccupy the second slot in the Hindi GEC sweepstakes. And week 34 of the TAM calendar 2012, saw the Raj Nayak-led Colors getting there courtesy its fiction and non-fiction properties registering improved viewership ratings.

As per TAM data (C&S, HSM, 4+), provided by Hindi GECs, Colors added 20 GRPs to its last week’s tally to record 258 GRPs in the week ended 25 August. The channel saw growth in viewership of shows like ‘Balika Vadhu’ (4.8 TVR), ‘Uttaran’ (2.8 TVR), ‘Zindagi Ki Haqiqat se Amna Samna’ (2.2 TVR) and ‘Jhalak Dikhhlaja’ (4.3 TVR).

Star Plus, which had slipped to second place last week following a great showing by the DID Lil Masters finale on Zee TV in the previous week, clawed its way back to the No1 position this week. The leader added 10 GRPs to close the week with 264 GRPs (only six ahead of Colors, mind you). Its fiction show ‘Diya aur Baati Hum’, which is top gun among all fiction shows in the Hindi GEC space, crossed the 6 TVR-mark clocking 6.7 TVR (last week 5.7). Other shows like ‘Saathiya Saath Nibhana’ (3.7 TVR) and ‘Pratigya’ (2.4 TVR) registered gains while Arjun, which opened with 2.3 TVR on 11 August, rated 1.7 TVR (last week 1.3 TVR) . Meanwhile, ‘Teri Meri Love Story’ also grew to record a 1.2 TVR (last week 0.8).

Last week‘s leader Zee TV lost 46 GRPs this week to take the No 3 position, despite the fact that its DID lil Masters-2 replacement, ‘Dance ke Superkids’, opened with 5.6 TVR on 25 August. The show, an extension of ‘DID lil Masters,’ will run for five weeks until the channel launches another season of its blockbuster Sa Re Ga Ma on 29 September. Ramayan which racked up 2.7 TVR on debut dropped to 1.8 TVR in its second episode. Fear Files continues to generate good numbers with 3 TVR.

Though the shows like Crime Patrol (3.9 TVR), CID (3.6 TVR) and Indian Idol-6 (2.6 TVR) have seen increased eyeballs, Sony Entertainment Television (Set) with an overall loss of three GRPs continued its run at fourth place. But expect its ratings to move northwards in the coming weeks with KBC slated to launch during weekend primetime.

Meanwhile, Set’s sister channel Sab, lost 7 GRPs and ended the week with 126 GRPs. A GRP away from Sab, Life OK followed with 125 GRPs. It lost eight GRPs in the week.

Sahara One with 37 GRPs (last week 35) remained at the bottom of the ladder.

  • Zee TV to replace DID lil Masters with ‘Dance Ke Superkids’

MUMBAI: Riding on the success of the just concluded ‘DID lil Masters 2‘, Zee TV has sold out all the ad inventories for the succeeding show at 9 pm, ‘Dance Ke Superkids‘.

Hindustan Unilever‘s Knorr, title sponsor of the mega show ‘DID lil Masters 2‘, will continue this arrangement with the new show.

Zee TV has got Moneygram and Visa on board as associate sponsors.

Zeel chief sales officer Ashish Sehgal said, “All our inventories have been sold out for Dance Ke Superkids because of the success of DID lil Masters 2.”

‘Dance Ke Superkids‘ will hope to cash in on the popularity of ‘DID lil Masters 2‘, the finale episode of which helped the channel be No.1 in the Hindi general entertainment channel (GEC) space for the week ended 18 August.

‘Dance Ke Superkids‘ is a challenge between the finalists of DID lil Masters 1 and 2. It is the next leg of the property DID lil Masters.

Starting 25 August, the five-week series will air every Saturday and Sunday at 9 pm.

‘Dance Ke Superkids‘ will pave the way for another mega reality show, Sa Re Ga Ma, that launches in September-end at the same time slot.

From 7 September, this new show from Zee TV will compete with Sony Entertainment Television‘s Amitabh Bachchan-hosted game show Kaun Banega Crorepati season 6.

Dance Ke Superkids will be hosted by Jay Bhanushali and Shreya Acharya. It will have Geeta Kapur and Farah Khan as judges.

  • DID Lil Masters supercharges Zee TV to Hindi GEC leadership

DID Lil Masters supercharges Zee TV to Hindi GEC leadership

MUMBAI: There‘s a lot of pomp and revelry going on at India‘s oldest Hindi general entertainment channel. And with reason: even as it gears up to celebrate its 20th anniversary in October this year, Zee TV, has vroomed to the front of the Hindi GEC weekly run, leaving behind its arch rival Star Plus in week 33 (ending 18 August) of 2012. What gave it the additional kick to race ahead of its rivals was the incredible 8 TVR that its flagship dancing reality show ‘DID lil Masters season 2’ generated.

As per TAM data (C&S, HSM, 4+) provided by Hindi GECs, Zee TV notched up 283 GRPs (last week 247 GRPs), with the DID Lil Masters 2 finale (which aired for three-and-a-half hours on 12 August) fetching around 56 GRPs. What also contributed good numbers were its mythological show ‘Ramayan’ that debuted with a 2.7 TVR and its ‘Gold Awards’ that recorded 3 TVR.

DID lil Masters-2 opened its current season with a 5.8 TVR and rated 3.5+ TVR on an average throughout.

Zee TV non-fiction head Ashish Golwalkar said, “DID lil Masters is the biggest franchise we have. The story has a heavy storytelling of how a common man becomes big. There wasn’t any drastic difference in this season as compared to the last season but we did try some small innovations that worked wonders for us and were well accepted by the audiences.”

According to Golwalkar, ‘DID lil Masters 2’ promoted a healthy lifestyle for kids which was structured as a part of the content. “This helped us attract more family viewing. Parents thought it was good and they have seen changes in the eating habits of their kids because of the show. This season, we also had presence of Mithun Chakraborty throughout. Last year, he was on the show only for few episodes,” he added. The channel had also introduced muppets in the show to attract eyeballs.

Advertising industry professionals point out that Zee TV is a channel to watch out for. “It has been doing fairly well since past 4-6 months with the launch of new properties. The channel is investing in its programming and trying to deliver good content,” Zenith Optimedia SVP Navin Khemka said.

There have been dancing properties like Just Dance (Star Plus) and Chakk Dhoom Dhoom (Colors) but they weren’t able to reach heights that DID lil Masters managed to reach. “I believe more established properties like DID lil Masters tend to deliver more numbers as compared to newer properties. The channels should understand that a ‘me-too’ property won’t work,” Khemka added.

“The channel has achieved the No. 1 spot; it‘s great but it would be a challenge to retain the position. For this, Zee TV‘s fiction programming has to perform more strongly. Also, any channel‘s success depends on what the others are airing,” a media expert said on condition of anonymity.

What makes Zee TV‘s achievement laudatory is the fact that it has dislodged Star Plus from the pole position it has held on to for over two years. The last time, Star Plus moved to the No 2 spot was when Colors had registered two more GRPs in May 2010.

Last week, Star Plus lost around 15 GRPs ending with 255 GRPs. ‘Arjun’, which debuted with 2.3 TVR last week, fell to 1.3 TVR while ‘Lakhon Me Ek’ rated 0.7 TVR.

Meanwhile, Colors has grabbed the No.3 spot in the GEC ladder on the back of improved ratings of shows like Jhalak Dikhlaja that rated 3.3 TVR (last week 2.6 TVR) and Balika Vadhu that clocked 4.4 TVR (last week 4 TVR). The channel added 21 GRPs to end the week with 238 GRPs.

Sony Entertainment Television (Set) lost 11 GRPs to clock 214 GRPs even as its crime-base properties like Adaalat (1.7 TVR), C.I.D (3.4 TVR), Crime Patrol (3.4 TVR) and Indian Idol-6 (1.8 TVR) yielded ground.

Life OK at No.5 added six GRPs to close the week with 134 GRPs. The Mahadev-Parvati Vivah special episode on the channel clocked 4.6 TVR.

Sab, the second GEC from Sony Entertainment Network, added five GRPs to its last week’s tally and registered 133 GRPs.

Sahara One with 35 GRPs (last week 33) remains at the bottom of the ladder.

  • Hindi GECs bounce back, as Zee TV’s DID lil Masters sets new record

MUMBAI: After losing 74 GRPs last week, the Hindi GEC genre has bounced back adding 116 GRPs in the week ended 11 August.

Zee TV‘s flagship dance reality show DID lil Masters-2‘s episode with Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif to promote Ek Tha Tiger on 5 August garnered a whopping 7.5 TVR.

This is DID lil Masters‘ highest recorded rating followed by the launch episode of DID lil Masters 1 that rated 6.7 TVR. The channel‘s DID lil Masters 2 Limelight aired immediately after the Salman Khan-Katrina Kaif episode clocked 3.1 TVR.
