    Barc week 34: Sun TV regains pole position in all India market

    Mumbai: Broadcast Audience Research Council (Barc) has released currency data for week 34 i.e. 20 August 2022 – 26 August 2022. Sun TV is number one in the top 10 channels – all India, 2+ with an average minute audience of 2339.22 (000). It was followed by Star Maa 2268.93 (000), Star Plus 2184.8 (000), Goldmines 2100.79 (000) and Dangal 1870.14 (000).

    Average minute audience (AMA) is defined as the number of individuals of a target audience who viewed a televised “event,” averaged across minutes.

    In the Hindi speaking market, Star Plus is in the top spot with with an average minute audience of 2112.24 (000) followed by Goldmines 2074.51 (000), Dangal 1862.07 (000), Sony Sab 1592.74 (000) and Star Pravah 1584.93 (000).

    In the South market, Sun TV is on top with an average minute audience of 2328.41 (000) followed by Star Maa at 2215.65 (000), Star Vijay 1470.12 (000), Zee Telugu 1464.92 (000) and Zee Kannada 1411.31 (000).

    In the megacities, Sun TV was number one with an average minute audience of 418.99 (000) followed by Star Plus 395.23 (000), Colors 343.16 (000), Sony Sab 315.65 (000) and Star Vijay 296.08 (000).

    In West Bengal market, Star Jalsha was number one with an average minute audience of    1105.92 (000) followed by     Zee Bangla 799.43 (000), Jalsha Movies 231.88 (000), Zee Bangla Cinema 155.76 (000) and ABP Ananda 140.45 (000).

    In Maharashtra/Goa market, Star Pravah was number one with an average minute audience of 1568.57 (000) followed by Zee Marathi 538.99 (000), Colors Marathi 430.36 (000), Sony Sab 419.22 (000) and Goldmines 346.87 (000).

    Zee Telugu is all set to premiere ‘The Kashmir Files’ on 28 August

    Mumbai: Zee Telugu is all set to air the world television premiere of the movie, “The Kashmir Files.” After a successful run in theatres, “The Kashmir Files” will make its television debut on Zee Telugu on 28 August at 12 p.m.

    “The Kashmir Files,” directed by Vivek Agnihotri, centres on the plight of Kashmiri Pandits in the 1990s after their mass exodus from their homes. It features Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborthy, Pallavi Joshi, Puneet Issar, Darshan Kumar, and Mrinal Kulkarni.

    The protagonist of the tale, Krishna Pandit (Darshan Kumar), is the grandson of Pushkar Nath (Anupam Kher), and takes place in Kashmir’s snow-capped mountain ranges. He finds himself caught between two divergent accounts of the 1990 exodus, and when he returns to Kashmir to carry out his grandfather’s final wishes, he learns some horrifying details about the exodus and how his parents died.

    Zee Telugu to premiere Mahasangamam episodes on TV screens

    Mumbai: Zee Telugu is all set to present two dramatic and enthralling mahasangamam episodes of ‘Oohalu Gusa Gusa Lade’ and ‘Gundamma Katha’ on 13 and 14 July from 1 p.m to 2 p.m, which will keep everyone hooked to their TV screens.

    Oohalu Gusa Gusa Lade and Gundamma Katha have distinct storylines, however, both the shows aim to break societal stereotypes. Their plots are so engaging that they have gone on to build a cult following for themselves. With enthralling and exhilarating mahasangamam episodes of both the shows coming up, the audience is surely in for a treat.

    During the mahasangamam episodes, viewers will witness Manikyam (from Gundamma Katha), Jayanthi (from Oohalu Gusa Gusa Lade) and a few others preparing to perform some rituals since their village is organising a religious ceremony after the village goddess sheds tears of blood. As a part of the ceremony, the entire village will be obligated to sacrifice all their ornaments to the goddess and all the villagers agree to do so. However, the antagonists make an attempt to play spoilsport and bring shame to Manikyam and her family in front of the villagers. How the lead jodis of both the shows avert this humiliation through a series of twists and turns forms the crux of mahasangamam and these high-octane episodes will keep everyone at the edge of their seats.

    Mumbai: Adding new content to its cutting-edge lineup of shows, Zee Telugu is all set to launch its new serial Mukkupudaka. Zee Telugu has always aimed at entertaining its audience with an array of unique fiction shows ranging from romantic tales to mythological and supernatural narratives as well as family dramas. Joining the trend, Mukkupudaka will be a traditional and deep-rooted family drama.  

    The show will hit screens on 11 July and air every Monday to Saturday at 8 p.m, only on Zee Telugu. 

    Steering clear from the usual mother-in-law and daughter-in-law tussle, Mukkupudaka revolves around Vedavati’s desperate search for a daughter-in-law who could be her successor in fulfilling a religious obligation to save their village from the wrath of Goddess Annapurna Devi. The catch here is that the daughter-in-law’s horoscope must completely match Vedavati’s horoscope. What’s more is that her younger son, Srikar (Raki Gowda), is Vedavati’s only hope as her money-minded elder son goes against her wishes. While Vedavati’s search continues, Srikar falls in love with Avani (Aishwarya Pisse), a tourist guide in their city.

    But will Avani’s horoscope match Vedavati’s horoscope? If not, will Vedavati accept Avani as her daughter-in-law? And why did Goddess Annapurna get angry in the first place? And what obligation did she put on the village? With plenty of questions in everyone’s mind and with several twists and turns in the tale, we are sure the audience will enjoy this thrilling yet emotional rollercoaster ride.

    Mumbai: Zee Telugu is all set to launch the first season of the popular dance reality show – Dance India Dance (DID). The show has been Zee Network’s premier reality show that has given the Indian film industry several talented artistes. After the super success of the show on several network channels, Zee Telugu is now all set to launch Dance India Dance Telugu season 1.  

    ZEE Telugu through Dance India Dance will look out for dancers from different cultural backgrounds and lifestyles through on-ground auditions that will kickstart from 23 June across different cities in Andhra Pradesh & Telangana, including the places like Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Tirupati, Kurnool, Khammam, Warangal, and Hyderabad. Contestants aged between 6 to 60 will be given an opportunity to showcase their talent and shine on the big stage.

    Mumbai: Zee Telugu is all set to make the upcoming Sunday exciting for its viewers with the world TV premiere of “Valimai” at 5:30 p.m and elimination chills of “Sa Re Ga Ma Pa: The Singing Superstar” at 9 p.m.

    “Valimai” is the action-thriller directed by H Vinoth and features Ajith Kumar, Kartikeya Gummakonda, Huma Qureshi, and Gurbani Judge in lead roles. The film revolves around ACP Arjun (Kumar), a police officer who can go to any extent to keep the city safe.

    Furthermore, the Sunday special episode of “Sa Re Ga Ma Pa: The Singing Superstar” will continue the entertainment quotient for the audience. While viewers have a gala time during the fun-filled girls v/s boys segment during the show, popular lyricist Kasarla Shyam will steal the limelight as he appears as a special guest and enthralls everyone with his rendition of DJ Tillu’s song. This Sunday will have an elimination round on the show, said the channel.

    Mumbai: Zee Telugu and Zee Telugu HD channels will telecast the Zee Telugu Kutumbam Awards 2021 on 23 and 31 October starting at 6:00 p.m.

    The celebration is the recognition of the best actors, anchors, and experts that successfully narrated stories of ordinary people embarking upon extraordinary journeys. The awards ceremony was an evening high on glitz, glamour, and entertainment anchored by Shymala, Pradeep Machiraju, Sreemukhi, and Akhil Sarthak.

    Tamannaah, Mehreen, Shreya Saran, Krithi Shetty, Nikhil, Ali, Akash Puri, Niharika Konidela, Hebba Patel, Surabhi were among the celebrities who attended the event. Tollywood actress Shreya attended the event with her husband Andrei Koscheev for the first time, Tamannah, Pradeep, Akhil, Sreemukhi presented a heart-warming performance with the F3 theme skit and Akhil and Mehreen serenaded the viewers with the ‘Emaipothave’ song.     Mumbai: Zee Telugu is set to premiere its new show “Agnipariksha” on 18 October at 9:30 p.m. The show will air every Monday to Saturday on the channel.

    Bringing together a stellar cast including actors Thanuja Puttaswamy, Akarsh Byramudi, Maahi Gouthami, Navin Vetri, and Prabhakar, the show highlights the journey of two sisters compelled into a loveless relationship.

    Set in Hyderabad, the tale revolves around two sisters, Radhika, Priyanka, and their father who is against love marriages. Radhika, an obedient, graceful and kind girl, loves her long-time friend Amar who loves her back unconditionally. However, due to destiny’s play, Kailash enters into the life of Radhika, changing the dynamics of her relationship with Amar. Priyanka, the younger sister to Radhika, is a vivacious girl. Her life will take a 360-degree turn with her sister’s change of relationships. 

    The gripping plot, theatrical characterisation, and intense performances make Agnipariksha a roller coaster ride of emotions as Radhika, Priyanka, Amar, and Kailash meet at crossroads, creating the sense of anticipation on the twists and revelations that will transform equations among the characters at every stage.

    ‘Mayaadweepam’ returns on Zee Telugu starting 3 October

    Mumbai: Zee Telugu has revived its kids reality show “Mayaadweepam” after seven years. The show will be led by Ohmkar as host along with fictional characters Pillamarriraju and Ontu Kannu Rakshasudu starting from 3 October at 9 p.m on Zee Telugu and Zee Telugu HD.

    This season’s sponsors include Close Up, Dazller Eterna and Triplex detergent.

    “Mayaadweepam” is an adventure game show that unearths the skills of young contestants including their physical, intellectual, satirical and educational ability. The intricately designed sets created for the show are one of the most composite setups in Telugu television. A crew of 100 members worked over 50 days to bring alive the setting, blending India’s rich mythic structures to give viewers a grand viewing experience, said the channel in a statement.

    This year Zee Telugu announced digital auditions for the show. Participants between the age of 6-12 years were invited to participate in the virtual auditions and this helped the channel receive over 12,000 entries in a short period of time. The selected participants will be part of the game show where every episode will witness four different contestants. Each episode will end with a ‘Showdown’ in which the contestants will be undergoing various levels of challenges.

    ZEEL’s South GECs acquire rights to ‘KGF Chapter 2’

    Mumbai: Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd (ZEEL), south cluster channels including ZEE Kannada, ZEE Tamil, ZEE Telugu and ZEE Keralam have secured the rights for “KGF Chapter 2“. The film will premiere on TV after its theatrical release in the respective regional languages.

    Directed by Prashanth Neel, produced by Hombale Films and starring Yash, the first part of the film surpassed the Rs 100 crore mark in terms of worldwide box office collections within a week of its release. The film has become the highest-grossing Kannada language entertainer to ever hit the screens.

    “We are thrilled to bring the most anticipated movie in the country to every screen in the South through the TV acquisition rights of KGF Chapter 2 in all four southern languages.
