    Zee Studios’ latest film 12th Fail has been creating a buzz everywhere through its raw emotions with a story that connects to the hearts alongside a striking performance by Vikrant Massey. The story revolves around IPS aspirant Manoj Kumar Sharma played by Vikrant Massey. Despite all the challenges, with hope and courage, he always chose to restart.

    &TV brings back family drama with a new show ‘Doosri Maa’

    Mumbai: &TV is all set to present its latest family drama Doosri Maa. The show will be produced by Zee Studios and co-produced by Imtiaz Punjabi.  

    The show will reintroduce the famous on-screen mother-son duo, Neha Joshi as Yashoda and Aayudh Bhanushali as Krishna, among other cast members. The show will premiere on 20 September at 8:00 p.m and will air Monday to Friday.

    &TV business head Vishnu Shankar said, “&TV is committed to telling human stories that connect deeply with our viewers, which is why we bring to you Doosri Maa. Mothers are the epitome of unconditional love and sacrifice and the bond between them and their child is unquestionable. But what happens when life throws a curveball? Our show Doosri Maa is a heart-tugging story of Yashoda’s struggle between her self-respect and maternal instincts, as she tries hard to accept her husband’s illegitimate young son.     Doosri Maa is the story of a woman who lives in Uttar Pradesh with her husband, two daughters, and in-laws. When she and her husband unknowingly adopt his illegitimate child, their happy, peaceful family life comes to a halt. The show depicts Yashoda’s journey of coming to terms with her husband’s past as well as her conflicted, rocky relationship with her stepson.

    Zee Studios’ chief business officer Anshul Khullar, said “Doosri Maa is our most recent fiction offering produced by Zee Studios and co-produced by Imtiaz Punjabi. It is a family drama centred around our protagonist Yashoda, as she deals with her husband’s past and her conflicted relationship with her stepson, Krishna. The storyline beautifully depicts the dilemma of Yashoda – torn between the anguish of a wronged wife and compassion for the plight of Krishna, her stepson, who has lost his mother and is struggling for acceptance.     This time we have Zee Studios head marketing Neeraj Joshi sharing with us his musings on the daily rigmarole that life & work has to offer. Having been in the field of media and entertainment for over 15 years, spanning the gamut of movies- from Hollywood to Bollywood and Regional- with motion picture marketing, Joshi still finds it all, in his own words, “fascinating”. Currently, heading the marketing function at Zee Studios (with three additional horizontal leadership profiles since 2018), he has worked with a clutch of the ‘buzziest brands’ in the industry earlier such as Viacom18, Fox Star Studios, Balaji Motion Pictures, Rajshri Films, PVR Pictures & RGV’s Factory.

    A self-confessed adventure lover & true blue professional, he considers creativity, people, negotiations, conflict resolution, evangelising and brand communication, among others as his key strengths.

    Shariq Patel resigns as CBO of Zee Studios

    Mumbai: Zee Studios chief business officer Shariq Patel has stepped down ending his four-year association with the company.  

    A company spokesperson in a statement said, “We wish to confirm that Shariq Patel has resigned from the position of chief business officer, Zee Studios, to pursue his interests and passion outside the organization. Shariq has helmed the movies business successfully over the past few years and contributed immeasurably towards its growth. We wish him the very best for all future endeavours.”

    Patel spearheaded the movie business of Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited (Zeel) and was responsible for various aspects of the value chain including movie purchase/production as well as monetisation across all markets – domestic and international.

    In a career spanning 26 years, Shariq has worked across industries in diverse sectors including financial services, radio, internet, telecom, sports management and film production.

    Zee Studios partners with NFTically to launch NFT drop

    Mumbai: Zee Studios on Friday announced its first non-fungible token (NFT) drop on its own NFT store. The film studio has partnered with software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform NFTically who facilitated the creation and launch of the NFT. The token has been integrated with the blockchain Polygon.

    A non-fungible token is a digital collectible that shows that the holder has ownership of a unique virtual item such as online pictures and videos. Through this NFT, Zee Studios will share a plethora of exclusive assets with their fans across the world, said the statement.

    “It is a defining moment for us to become the first film studio in India to launch NFTs and this initiative ties in with our future-facing plans. Zee Studios will provide NFTs for cinema lovers and collectors through its repository of the strong lineup of film content,” said  Zee Studios, chief business officer, Shariq Patel.  

    “Our mission is to revolutionise the NFT space by making it accessible to everyone – celebrities, influencers, artists, and enterprises,” said NFTically, chief executive officer and founder, Toshendra Sharma. “With a clear focus on NFT awareness and the platform (UX), we aim to connect people with their favourite collectibles, artists, and objects. NFT market-related transactions are soaring to new heights every day and given our relationship with art, culture, and emotion, India can be the epicentre of the NFT uprising.”

    ZEE TV to hold world TV premiere of ‘Radhe’ on 15 August

    Mumbai: ZEE TV has announced the world television premiere of ‘Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai’ on 15 August at 12 noon. Directed by Prabhu Deva and starring Salman Khan, Disha Patani and Randeep Hooda in lead roles, the film was released on 13 May via multiple platforms.

    During its release, theatres remained shut because of lockdown restrictions, so the film was made available for viewing on the OTT platform ZEE5 via its pay-per-view service ZEEPlex as well as DTH operators such as Tata Sky, Dish, D2H, and Airtel Digital TV. The film was also distributed in theatres worldwide while adhering to Covid protocols issued by governments.  

    To create anticipation for the film’s TV premiere on Independence Day, ZEE TV will create the biggest fan-sourced mosaic depicting the actor Salman Khan as ‘Radhe’ that encompasses 6,500 images sourced from across the country. “All one needs to do is upload their picture on their social media page tagging @ZeeTV and using the #BhaiKoSalaam in their post. The lofty 32 ft x 20 ft recreation of Salman Khan’s Radhe is being installed at the Carter Blue Promenade in Bandra, Mumbai and is open for all Salman Khan’s fans till 14th August,” said the channel in a statement.

    “For millions of fans across the nation, Salman Khan has been this larger-than-life hero they worship, a symbol of incomparable charisma and effortless swagger,” said ZEE TV business head, Aparna Bhosle. “It is with the intent of enabling every Salman fan to express their love for him in an extremely personal way that we are inviting them to contribute their selfies, which in turn will be assembled and curated into an almost God-like avatar – a gigantic mosaic of their idol at the busy Carter Road promenade in Mumbai. We hope this celebration of Salman’s fandom mirrors the euphoria surrounding the world television premiere of his film Radhe we’re bringing our viewers on Independence Day.”

    The film is produced by Salman Khan, Sohail Khan, Atul Agnihotri, and Zee Studios.

    &TV announces new mythological show ‘Bal Shiv’

    Mumbai: &TV has announced the launch of a new mythological fiction show, ‘Bal Shiv’. The show is currently under production and being bankrolled by production banner, Zee Studios.

    For the first time on Indian television, ‘Bal Shiv’ will depict an untold mythical story of the mother and son’s eternal bond (Mahasati Anusuya and Bal Shiv) through exploring various chapters of his childhood and self-discovery. The story revolves around the premise that Lord Shiva had taken several avatars, yet never experienced childhood and mother’s love, said the channel in a statement.

    “Mythological stories always have had a fascination and staunch following amongst viewers of all ages. They have always presented viewers with the hope of direction and protection in uncertain times,” the channel said. “Of all the fascinating stories on the legend of Lord Shiva and his various avatars, one story that has never been told before is the story of Bal Shiv and his Bal Roop,” it added.

    The upcoming presentation will soon premiere only on &TV.

    Mumbai: &TV on Wednesday announced the launch of its latest offering ‘Ghar Ek Mandir – Kripa Agrasen Maharaja Ki’ set to premiere on 10 August. The socio-mythological show will air every Monday to Friday at 9 pm only on &TV.

    The show is a never-seen-before socio drama on Indian television built around the context of the legendary king, Agrasen Maharaja, who was the founder of the Agrawal community of traders. His teachings and principles hold relevance even today and serve as a guiding force for leading life. The story will depict Agrasen Maharaja’s core principles through his ardent ‘bhakt’ (devotee) and the show’s lead protagonist, Genda, said the statement.

    The cast comprises Shrenu Parekh as Genda, Sai Ballal as Kundan Agarwal, Sameer Dharmadhikari as Agrasen Maharaja, Akshay Mhatre as Genda’s husband, Varun Agarwal, Vishal Nayak as Manish Agarwal, Kenisha Bhardwaj as Nisha Agarwal, Yamini Singh as Santosh, Archana Mittal as Anuradha Agarwal.

    Commenting on the launch, &TV, business head, Vishnu Shankar, said, “In challenging times what helps us stay afloat are our principles, our beliefs and most importantly, our family.     Salman Khan’s Radhe takes viewers by storm across all platforms

    KOLKATA: Actor Salman Khan’s much awaited film Radhe has opened to a thunderous response from the audience. The movie proved to be yet another Eid blockbuster garnering over 4.2 million views across various platforms.

    In India, the film was released on Zee5 with Zee’s pay-per-view service ZeePlex, along with leading DTH operators. It was also released theatrically in international markets on 13 May.

    Right from fans cheering for the film in theatres overseas, to massive bookings on streaming platforms, the fans of the superstar watched the film as soon as it released making it the most-watched movie on the opening day itself.

    With theatre capacities running at 50 per cent in UAE, the film has collected $379,000 on its opening day, which is not only higher than Salman Khan’s last film Dabbang 3 (2019) but also a higher opening day collection than Godzilla vs. Kong. The collections are likely to go up given the festive weekend.

    Radhe’s emphatically demonstrates the success of a hybrid release and shows an effective model of releasing a film during these very tough times. This would be important not just to the stakeholders of Radhe but to the entire film industry at a time, when the country is reeling under the most severe wave of Covid-19. The release also reinforces the belief that multi-platform simultaneous release is the future of entertainment and will grow multi-fold in the years to come.
