    Zee Cinemalu celebrates 3 years of undisputed entertainment

    Over the years, Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited’s Zee Cinemalu celebrates yet another year of entertaining its Telugu Cinema lovers as the channel completes three years on 4th September. Launched by the Megastar Chiranjeevi, who unveiled the logo, Zee Cinemalu began its journey with ‘Dil Pai Super Hit’ as its brand tagline and became the first movie channel to introduce the concept of World Television Premieres, giving a fresh offering to movie lovers. Zee Cinemalu scattering to 50.8 Million viewers week on week in AP & TS. Zee Cinemalu’s strength continues to lie on its archive of movies for the younger generation.

    Zee Cinemalu gained the highest ever ratings achieved by any movie channel in the Hyderabad market with BARC India ratings of 416 GRPs in wk22’19, scoring a milestone of 300 GRPs in Urban in the same week. This sets a new benchmark in the television industry as the only Telugu movie channel to achieve this feat. The channel witnessed a growth of 26% and moved from 148 in FY18 to 186 in FY19 and has seen a growth of 31% in FY 20 and moved from 186 in FY19 to 243 GRP’s in FY20 in Urban.

    The channel has been entertaining audiences with evergreen hits and with latest titles in various genres like Family, Drama, Comedy, Horror and Thriller. In the process, Zee Cinemalu has successfully occupied a special space in the hearts of all Telugu audience across the state. The Zee Cinemalu HD variant launched on December 31, 2017 continues to deliver the best viewing experience enabled with this technology to their ardent viewer.

    BARC week 34: Zee Cinemalu replaces Star Maa Movies in Telugu genre

    MUMBAI: In week 34 of BARC India ratings, Zee Cinemalu was the new entrant in the top five Telugu channels list. The channel replaced Star Maa Movies at fifth position.This week, Vaicom 18's two regional channel Colors Gujarati and Colors Marathi bagged second positions in their respective markets. Last week, Colors Gujarati was seen at fourth position but the channel jumped to second position this week. Similarly Colors Marathi jumped from third position to second this week. 

    In week 34, ABP Asmita slipped to fourth position from second last week. Colors Gujarati Cinema, TV9 Gujarati and Sandesh News continue to hold their first, third and fifth positions respectively.

    Zee Cinemalu, a full-time Telugu movie channel from Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited (ZEEL), is completing yet another year of entertaining its Telugu Cinema lovers as the channel completes two years since its inception on 4th September 2016. Launched by Megastar Chiranjeevi unveiling the logo, Zee Cinemalu began its journey with ‘DilPai Super Hit’ as its brand line and became the first movie channel to have World Television Premieres among the movies channels, also introducing the concept of 7 Days – 7 Premieres,giving a fresh offering to movie lovers.     MUMBAI: Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited (ZEEL) celebrating its 25-year milestone, has unveiled new logos for its Telugu channels, Zee Telugu and Zee Cinemalu.

    Zee Telugu’s new logo represents the transition that the channel will undergo in the upcoming months with the introduction of never seen before content formats and a blend of fiction and non-fiction shows for Telugu audiences around the world. Zee Cinemalu’s new logo highlights the varied content and movie options that the channel will be airing to establish itself as a leading entertainment destination.

    As the first channel from the Zee bouquet to foray into Southern India, Zee Telugu sets itself apart with its positive narratives which inspire viewers. Furthermore, characters such as Bhoomi from Mutyala Muggu and Samantha from America Ammayi who are aspirational and progressive, yet rooted in traditions and culture, reiterate Zee Telugu’s philosophy of being contemporary while remaining culturally entrenched.     MUMBAI: Leading content conglomerate, Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited (ZEEL), has announced the launch of its Telugu movie channel, Zee Cinemalu. The channel is available on Dish and Sling TV in the US as a part of the popular Telugu pack. This launch brings the total tally of Zee channels in the US to 37, making Zee the biggest multi-cultural broadcaster in the United States.

    Zee Americas business head Sameer Targe said, “Movies are an integral part of the lives of the Telugu audience and the stars of Telugu cinema are worshipped as demigods. The Telugu community in the USA is close to half a million strong and is growing at more than 10pc every year. With the positioning of ‘Dil Pai Super Hit’, Zee Cinemalu offers a wide variety of movies from different genres with an aim to win the hearts of the Telugu audience.”

    To represent such a larger than life environment, megastar Chiranjeevi unveiled the Zee Cinemalu logo at an event in India last year in September, which was attended by the most prominent members of the Telugu film fraternity.

    The channel will entertain US audiences with its major blockbusters including Akhil, Brahmotsavam, Kumari21F, Supreme and A Aa. To further engage viewers, Zee Cinemalu will showcase first-of-its-kind properties like ‘7 days 7 premieres’, the simulcast of mega events, Just For Laugh gags, ‘Bangaru Bujji’ – a filler which connects cinema and the day-to-day life of an individual and DSP Live in USA, a musical show featuring Devi Sri Prasad.

    Zee News Ltd misses regional GECs, Q4 net shrinks to Rs 28 mn

    MUMBAI: Zee News Limited (ZNL) has posted a consolidated net profit of Rs 28.2 million for the quarter ended 31 March, a 56.9 per cent fall from the year-ago period, as it has learnt to live without its six regional general entertainment channels since 1 January.

    The channels – Zee Marathi, Zee Bangla, Zee Talkies, Zee Telugu, Zee Kannada and Zee Cinemalu – have now been demerged from ZNL and merged into Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited (Zeel). ZNL now operates Zee News, Zee Business, Zee Punjabi, Zee 24 Taas and Zee Tamil.

    ZNL’s total consolidated revenues for the three-month period stood at Rs 600.6 million compared to Rs 1.38 billion a year ago

    Meanwhile, expenses also came down to Rs 561.8 million from Rs 1.18 billion a year ago.

    ZNL chairman Subhash Chandra said, “Zee News Ltd is all set to embark on a new and promising trajectory after the demerger of the company was formally concluded. Our aim is to consolidate our commanding position in the news genre and spread out our wings even further in the regional and national arena. The company is uniquely poised to accrue benefits from the synergies possible from such an arrangement. Resources from across the spectrum of channels will be pooled together and shared, giving us an edge over competition and also immense cost benefits.”

    ZNL CEO Barun Das added, “The demerger will throw up some exciting opportunities as we go ahead. We had leveraged the low cost entry opportunity during the economic recession and are now well placed to grow from here.”

    The company also announced that Zee Akaash News Private Limited – a subsidiary, where ZNL holds 60 per cent stake and operates Bengali news channel 24 Ghanta – has made an operating profit of Rs 50.11 million for the year ended 31 March 2010.
