    Zee Cafe to launch three comedy shows

    MUMBAI: Zee’s English channel Zee Cafe has announced the arrival of three more shows in the comedy genre. The programmes to be launched are Comedy Inc., Will & Grace Season 7 and Caroline in the city Season 4.

    Comedy Inc. will premiere on Tuesday 9 May at 9:30 pm. Will & Grace Season 7 premieres on 9 May at 10 pm.

    As of 2005, Will & Grace has been nominated for 49 Emmys, 24 Golden Globes, fourteen SAG Awards and six People’s Choice Awards. Among its 12 Emmy wins, the show won as Outstanding Comedy Series in 2000. In 2002 and 2003, it had more Emmy nominations than any other comedy series. Additionally, it’s been nominated for an American Comedy Award, three Glaad Media Awards and a Founders Award from the Viewers for Quality Television.

    Caroline in the city Season 4 will premiere on 9 May at 10:30 pm. A situational comedy centered on Caroline Duffy, a young cartoonist living in the Tribeca neighborhood of New York City. Each episode begins with a brief animated sequence reflecting the autobiographical nature of her syndicated newspaper cartoon strip Caroline in the City, explicitly compared with the real comic strip Cathy in several episodes.

    MUMBAI: Zee Network will telecast two of the prestigious fashion events in the country, Lakme Fashion Week and the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week (Autumn – Winter) 2006 on its channels Zee TV, Zee Café & Zee Trendz.

    Speaking on the initiative Zee Café & Zee Trendz business head Neil Chakravarti said the programme packaging on each channel would differ as the channels target individual audiences.

    “We are showcasing collections & happenings from the recently concluded event on three of our channels, as we want to cater to individual audiences of each channel. Therefore, the content on Zee TV will have a different look-feel than the one on Zee Café or Zee Trendz,” he said.

    Lakme Fashion Week:

    Zee TV on Sunday, 16 April from 6:30 pm to 8:30pm
    Zee Café from 10 April to 15 April, at 9:30pm
    Zee Trendz from 7 April to 9 April at 9:30pm

    Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week:

    Zee TV on Sunday, 9 April from 9:00 pm to 11:00 pm
    Zee Café on 22 April, at 9:00 pm
    Zee Trendz from 15 April to 20 April at 9:30 pm

    Zee Café to launch four shows, adds local glam series’View from the Top’

    MUMBAI: The English general entertainment channel Zee Café has lined-up four new shows for the month of April, with – Candid Camera, Oz, The Gig (Musical concert) and View from the Top.

    View from the Top is yet another local show featuring the lifestyles of the rich, the famous and the achievers.

    The show will launch on 23 April at 6 pm. It is Zee Cafe’s second local show- the first being Bombay Talking.

    Zee Café business head Neil Chakravarti says, “Our endeavour is to showcase the best of English entertainment, we are now adding four new shows in the month of April to our existing line-up of award winning programmes. We are positive our viewers will find them as appealing as the earlier shows.

    He adds, “Shows like Candid Camera, Oz, The Gig (Musical concert) and View from the Top, are targeted at a wider audience.

    “We have extended our programming to provide a mixed bag in order to cater to varied tastes of the ever-growing English audience.”

    Starting from 1 April, the channel brings in the reality-comedy show Candid Camera to air at 7 pm.

    On 7 April, the channel will air the series Oz at 10 pm, chronicling the daily activities of an unusual prison facility and its criminal inhabitants.

    Showcasing some of the outstanding concerts from different corners of the world by some renowned artists of the music industry, Zee Café has lined up a series of 13 concerts in The Gig that includes the likes of Shakira, Usher, Destiny’s Child, Pink Floyd, Santana, Maroon 5 and many more.The Gig will air from 8 April at 2:30 pm.
