    Zee Café brings viewers ‘Gotham’ starting from June 23

    MUMBAI: Zee Café brings for its viewers the best of DC comics’ universe this year. After a remarkable season 1, Zee Café is back with a more intriguing season of Gotham. So get ready to kick your mundane weekdays in to high gear- with the second installment of Gotham starting June 23 onwards, every Monday – Friday at 10 pm followed by a brand new show Supergirl the following month.

    Winner of the most exciting new series category at the Critics’ Choice Television awards, Gotham 2 brings back the era of villains. Heading into season two, catch the rise of the biggest Super villains – The Joker, Penguin, Riddler, Catwoman, Poison Ivy, MR Freeze which eventually leads to the genesis of one of the most popular super heroes of our time- Batman. So this time, it’s darker, scarier and all about the rise of evil in Gotham.

    But that’s not the end. In July, Zee Café also brings to you the story of a brand new legend, Supergirl. From the legacy of Superman, Supergirl is an untold story of a girl sent to earth to protect her cousin. To find out how she embracesher destiny, stay tuned to Zee Café.

    Speaking on the back to back shows premiering on Zee Café, Zee English cluster business head Ali Zaidi said, “With the kind of fan following DC comics have, we realized that audiences like watching superhero movies and series in India. We are highly excited to premiere two of the biggest shows of the franchise. Gotham Season 1 was received extremely well and we hope the same for season 2. As for Supergirl, we are really looking forward to bringing a new Super Hero to India and we are hoping that the viewer’s response would meet our expectations”.

    BARC week 20: English entertainment and movie spots shuffled; Discovery continues to top

    MUMBAI: According to week 20 of BARC India, 6 Mega Cities : NCCS AB : 4+ Individuals rating, Zee café climbed back to its top position. AXN dropped a place in the English entertainment space. Star Movies returned to top spot, pushing Movies Now to second spot. Discovery continued to top the infotainment genre.

    English Entertainment

    Zee Café climbed up and replaced AXN on first position, with a rise in rating to 247 Impressions (000s). AXN followed on second spot with 223 Impressions (000s). Star world with 183 Impressions (000s) grabbed third position. Comedy Central with 167 Impressions (000s) and Colors Infinity SD with 135 Impressions (000s) took fourth and fifth positions respectively.

    English Movies

    Star Movies repossessed its top position replacing Movies Now with 2684 Impressions (000s). Movies now dropped a rank to second spot scoring 2593 Impressions (000s). Sony Pix secured third spot with 1663 Impressions (000s). Zee Studio grabbed fourth position with 1415 Impressions (000s) and HBO got fourth spot with 1126 Impressions (000s).

    Infotainment

    Discovery continued to rule infotainment genre with 4881 Impressions (000s). History TV18 followed on second position with 3899 Impressions (000s). National Geographic Channel with 3305 Impressions (000s) and Animal Planet with 3298 Impressions (000s) grabbed third and fourth position respectively. Nat Geo Wild was on the last spot with 2005 Impressions (000s).

    Chrome Week 19: English News channels genre emerge as top gainer

    MUMBAI: English News channels genre appeared on top in Chrome’s opportunity to see (OTS) analysis for the eight metros. This space marked an increase of 1.8 per cent and saw Lok Sabha TV as the leader with 93.7 per cent OTS in week 19.

     The former was followed by Infotainment with 1.3 per cent gain across all India. History TV 18 topped with 84.6 per cent OTS. Hindi Movies in Hindi Speaking Market (HSM) took the third spot in the list of top gainers with 0.7 per cent increase in OTS. Max led the tally with 91.9 per cent OTS.

    Music genre in HSM also noted a growth of 0.6 per cent. 9X M emerged as the chart topper with 89.1 per cent OTS.

     English Entertainment witnessed a drop of 2.2 per cent in the eight metros; it topped the loser category with Zee Café scoring 47.7 per cent OTS. With a drop of 1.8 per cent, Business News channels genre in six metros booked the second spot. CNBC Awaz emerged as the most affected channel with 80.4 per cent OTS.

    The English Movies category in six metros also observed a decline of 1.7 per cent. Movies Now topped the list with 53.0 per cent OTS. The last spot was taken by the Youth genre with a drop of 1.1 percent in Hindi Speaking Market. Channel V grabbed the top position with 88.2 per cent OTS.

    MUMBAI: Zee Café is all geared up to bring its new property Uncut for its viewers. Through this step, the channel will broadcast an hour of unfiltered and uncensored content every Monday to Thursday at 11 pm.

    The property will offer exclusive content from the most popular Hollywood shows in a never seen before format starting with The Big Bang Theory season 1 to 9.

    Speaking on the new initiative, Zee English cluster business head Ali Zaidi said, “With the kind of exposure Indian viewers have towards English entertainment, we thought it would be the right opportunity to bring them the shows they love in a way they would want it to be. Uncut is our first step towards that innovation and we are hopeful the impact would be positive.”

    MUMBAI: Zee Cafe is all geared up to premiere the new season of House Of Cards on 12 and 13 March 2016. The show will air 5 pm onward. The increasing interest around the show prompted the channel to introduce marathon viewing of its third season which went onto become a trend in the English entertainment space. Keeping in with the success, the fourth installment will also have a marathon start to end run over this weekend to keep the viewers glued to their small screens. 

    The channel promoted the show’s latest season through innovative campaigns and social media strategies. An all-round 360 degree campaign was initiated spanning across mediums like print, TV, radio, outdoor and airport branding to garner maximum outreach. The channel introduced series of contests and activities on its social media platforms one month prior to the premiere to create the recall value.
