    BARC week 11: Sun TV continues lead across genres; Sony Pal climbs to fifth spot

    MUMBAI: Continuing its lead across genres in week 11 of Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) all India data, Sun TV bagged 966875 (000s sums) in terms of viewership ratings, followed by Star Plus in second position with 771273(‘000s) and Colors with 745190 (‘000s) stood at number three.

    Zee TV maintained its fourth slot with 695461 (‘000s) whereas as its free to air (FTA) channel Zee Anmol dropped two spots to number seven with 499677 (‘000s). Sony Pal climbed a place to number five position with 522561 (‘000s) while Life Ok stood at number six with 504087 (‘000s).

    Last but not the least were STAR Utsav, Zee Cinema and ETV Telugu which stood at eighth, ninth and tenth positions across genres with 494771 (‘000s), 475752 (‘000s) and 454735 (‘000s) respectively.

    MUMBAI: Though DD National’s Micromax Asia Cup T20 topped the chart of top five programmes, the pubcaster’s Hindi GEC exited from the ranks of the top ten Hindi general entertainment channel (GEC) list. On the other hand, Star Plus continued to lead the genre in week 10 of Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) all India data. 

    Star Plus grabbed the lead position with an increase at 707636 (‘000s) against 677342 (‘000s) in week 9, followed by Colors in second position with 668653(‘000s) and Zee TV with 631579 (‘000s) stood at number three. Zee Network’s free to air channel Zee Anmol secured the fourth spot with 548303 (‘000s) followed by Sony Pal with 518422 (‘000s) on fifth slot. 

    Star India’s FTA channel Star Utsav grabbed sixth position with 509852 (‘000s) followed by Life OK and Rishtey on seventh and eighth spot with 469661 (‘000s)and 412257 (‘000s) respectively. 

    Whereas,  Sony Pictures Network’s Sab TV and Sony Entertainment Television bagged ninth and tenth spot with 391520 (‘000s) and 301805 (‘000s) respectively.

    Even after a fall in ratings, Star Plus grabbed the lead position with 677342 (‘000s) against 768495 (‘000s) in week 8, followed by Colors also with a decrease in ratings but at the second place with 667036 (‘000s) against 725868 (‘000s) in previous week.  

    Zee Network’s Hindi entertainment channel Zee TV garnered the third berth with a decline in ratings at 626362 (‘000s) against 645473 (‘000s) in previous week. On the other hand, its free to air channel Zee Anmol too witnessed a fall in ratings and secured the fourth spot with 594218 (‘000s) against 625553 (‘000s) in last week. 

    DD National grabbed the fifth spot in the space with 509504 (‘000s) followed by Sony Pal on sixth slot with 500119 (‘000s) and Star Utsav with 486353 (‘000s) stood at number seven. 

    Life OK, Rishtey and Sab TV bagged eighth, ninth and tenth position with 435372 (‘000s),  410192 (‘000s) and  384177 (‘000s) respectively.

    MUMBAI: The award ceremony by Zee on March 5, the Lux Zee Cine awards 2016 was bigger this time with the introduction of the Jury awards and Integrated National award for cinema. Various regions across the globe executed clutter breaking worldwide campaigns to ensure that the awards reach out to maximum viewers. Lux Zee Cine awards 2016 was a simulcast on fifth March on Zee Cinema, Zee Cinema HD, Zee Anmol, Zee Tamizh and also premiered on prime globally.

    Zee Entertainment Enterprises  Limited (Zeel) managing director  and CEO  Punit Goenka, Zeel chief business officer Sunil Buch,actors  Anil Kapoor, Shahid Kapoor, Sonakshi Sinha, Kriti Sanon and the jury members Leena Yadav, Ravi K Chandran, Resul Pookutty and Shantanu Moitra had announced the awards in Mumbai last month.    Rakesh Roshan, Anurag Basu, Leena Yadav, Prasoon Joshi, Ravi K Chandran, Resul Pookutty and Shantanu Moitra were the judges 

    The  channel targeted Tier I and Tier II regional publications with the objective to get maximum conversions for the telecast. It was also promoted on DTH platforms like Dish TV, TATA Sky and Videocon to enhance the recall of the property. Innovative advertising was carried out in over 500 theatre screens across Hindi speaking markets.Apart from this, an extensive social media campaign was executed on Twitter and Instagram.

    Zeel chief business officer  Sunil Buch, said, “Zee Cine awards 2016 is not only a true celebration of Hindi and regional cinema but also brought transparency in the selection of winners through its Jury Awards. Keeping in mind the legacy and credibility Zee Cine Awards commands, we have initiated several marketing innovations and activation to make the event a grand success, both, for the audiences and all our partners. It had been conceptualized, created and produced by Zee Studios, our state-of-the-art film and TV production arm.  Besides, there is a goodness of fit to a film awards show being premiered on Zee Cinema rather than on a GEC.  The channel with an average weekly base of 184 million (18.4 crore) viewers is higher than any other channel across Hindi Speaking Markets (BARC-Urban + Rural India, Average of Week 41’15-Week 3’16, NCCS 4+). As per the latest data from BARC, Star Plus secured the leadership slot while Colors stood at number two even after an increase in ratings.

    Star Plus grabbed the lead position in the Hindi GEC genre with 768495 (‘000s) and bagged the second place with 725868 (‘000s) against 692564 (‘000s) in week 7.  

    Zee Network’s Hindi entertainment channel Zee TV secured the third berth with a decline in ratings to 645473 (‘000s) against  666691 (‘000s) in the previous week. Its free to air channel Zee Anmol too witnessed a fall in ratings with 625553 (‘000s) viewership against 656412 (‘000s) in last week, but maintained its the fourth spot.

    Star Ustav climbed up to number five with 492907(‘000s), followed by Sony Pal with 477372 (‘000s) on sixth spot and Life OK with 437776 (‘000s) stood at number seven. 

    With no change in last three positions in the ranking list, Rishtey stood at number eight with 372527(‘000s). Sab TV and Sony Entertainment Television continued at ninth and tenth slot with 363158 (‘000s) and 311654 (‘000s) respectively.

As per the latest data from BARC, Star Plus secured the leadership slot while Colors stood at number two even after an increase in ratings.

    Star Plus grabbed the lead position in the Hindi GEC genre with 768495 (‘000s) and bagged the second place with 725868 (‘000s) against 692564 (‘000s) in week 7.  

    Zee Network’s Hindi entertainment channel Zee TV secured the third berth with a decline in ratings to 645473 (‘000s) against  666691 (‘000s) in the previous week. Its free to air channel Zee Anmol too witnessed a fall in ratings with 625553 (‘000s) viewership against 656412 (‘000s) in last week, but maintained its the fourth spot.

    Star Ustav climbed up to number five with 492907(‘000s), followed by Sony Pal with 477372 (‘000s) on sixth spot and Life OK with 437776 (‘000s) stood at number seven. 

    With no change in last three positions in the ranking list, Rishtey stood at number eight with 372527(‘000s). Sab TV and Sony Entertainment Television continued at ninth and tenth slot with 363158 (‘000s) and 311654 (‘000s) respectively.

    MUMBAI: In week 8, Sun TV continued to lead across genres while  Star Plus grabbed the second slot and pushed down Colors to number three, according to Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) all India data.

    On the other hand, Star India’s movie channel Star Gold exited the top ten list this week while Sony networks’ Sony Max entered the list.

    Sun TV maintained its lead with 1005250 (‘000s), whereas Star Plus in the second place with an increase in ratings acquired 835910 (‘000s) and pushed Colors down to number three with 767772 (‘000s).

    Zee TV maintained its fourth spot in week 8 with 703634 (‘000s), while Zee Anmol secured the fifth slot with 626831 (‘000s).

    Star India’s FTA channel Star Utsav climbed up to number six from the  eightth slot in week 7 with 495096(‘000s) followed by Sony Pal with 481529 (‘000s) at number seven while Life OK with 456706 (‘000s) stood at number eight.

    Sony Max entered the top ten channel’s list in week 8 and grabbed ninth slot with 449308 (‘000s) while ETV Telugu maintained its tenth slot in the chart with 418704 (‘000s).
