    Honda Cars India’s Rs 25 crore campaign spends for the new BR-V

    BENGALURU: Honda Cars India Ltd. (HCIL), a manufacturer of premium cars in India, today introduced its new model Honda BR-V. The launch of BR-V marks Honda’s entry into the compact SUV segment that is about 300,000 units per year in size in India. The BR-V is available in both Diesel and Petrol fuel options in India.

    The company has planned a six week campaign that began last week and will end by the third week of June. Industry sources revealed that HCIL has budgeted between Rs 25 and Rs 30 crore for a 360 degree campaign for the new BR-V. Recently HCIL announced Mullen Lintas as its creative agency for its new car. Media buying is through Group M’s Motivator.

    At the BR-V launch in Bengaluru today, HCIL unveiled a 90 second promo that will run on cinema screens and Youtube. Two 30-second TVCs’ that tell stories around the BR-V and a 20-second TVC that speaks more about brand Honda have been planned. The company is targeting males from the age group of 25-45 years, and hence the TVCs’ will be aired across all major English, Hindi and regional news channels reveal sources at HMIL. A print campaign is also a part of HMIL’s media plans.

    Speaking at the launch, HCIL senior vice president & director Raman Kumar Sharma said, “India is a key market for Honda and as part of our business expansion, we are focusing on increasing our customer base with new model introductions. The launch of BR-V marks Honda’s entry into the popular compact SUV segment. Customers can experience the outstanding appearance of an SUV and benefit from the versatility and comfort of its spacious 3 row interiors. We are confident that BR-V will strongly appeal to the customers and accelerate our growth while strengthening our brand presence in the country.”

    NEW DELHI: The “Fuelled by Love” campaign created by SapientNitro for British Airways has become the first Indian campaign to have won an award under the online video category at the A-list Awards, Hollywood. 

    British Airways “Fuelled by Love” – the bronze champion is an ad campaign for the Indian market, highlighting the airline’s sense of love, respect and sincerity to their association with India.

    The A-List Hollywood Awards are one of the first creative competition of its kind in Hollywood, honouring excellence and innovation intersecting between advertising and entertainment across all platforms.

    The video has crossed over 1.8 million views on Youtube till now and showcases the story of how a British Airways crew member falls in love with India during her first visit to the country and her emotional connect with one of the passengers.

    Directed by Neeraj Ghaywan, the critically acclaimed director of the Bollywood movie Masaan, the British Airways “Fuelled by Love” film went live in February this year, and follows the story of a young cabin crew member of British origin who is flying to India for the first time.

    “We are extremely proud to get acknowledged for our work done for British Airways, at highly reputed international platforms such as the A-list Hollywood Awards.     Music makes up more than 30 percent of videos watched on Google’s YouTube, and Foundry is its latest product to create original music. Content from Foundry will be hosted on YouTube itself as well as in the YouTube Music app. The company will highlight videos from Foundry artists in its music app via a playlist feature, and has floated similar initiatives with music industry executives.

    YouTube has already hosted workshops with over 25 artistes at its production facilities in Los Angeles and London to teach them how to better use the site. Videos of live sessions recorded during those workshops will first appear on YouTube.

    GOA: “This is the time for renaissance in advertising because of the availability of technology”, asserted Isobar global CEO Jean Lin, while shedding light on how the backbone of ideas without limits is the importance of innovation.

    Quoting Alibaba’s success story, she mentioned that creativity is the key to make everything successful. “In the digital age it’s about delivering ideas without limit. The key point behind innovation is that the idea actually exists, we have to just innovate.”

    She further outlined that according to a PWC research in 2013, companies that look to innovate grew faster by 60 per cent, compared to the 20 per cent growth of companies that were taking on each other. The rate of change of society is a function of the age at which youth were introduced to the dominant technology of the time.

    Lin explained how Alibaba.com had launched a singles day sale in 2015 which got it sales worth $ 14.3 billion on that day. With 69 per cent of the sale from mobile devices, shoppers from 200 countries participated and 16,000 international brands were bought. “People from all over the globe can buy online. India is one of the highest border-less buyers worldwide. Now clients don’t have to look at other brands within their geography, they need to compete with prices even in other countries.”

    She also presented the example of Disneyland’s investment in the magical wrist band which worked well for the company as well as helped the travellers to track ticket, hotel room key and for getting reservations in hotels.

    The next thing that she spoke about was programmatic videos. She cited the example of how Unilever used this in technology where it showed 100,000 different videos for different people for a deodorant brand. “Even for programmatic video, content is required. It will take different thinking though. It gives viewers higher satisfaction. Technology helps, but it takes a creative to think of creativity in a different way”.

    The case studies of how Pinterest came up with its predictive shopping and how Youtube provides 100 per cent shoppable videos were also briefly discussed by Lin. “Ideas without limits is when YouTube and Pinterest take e-commerce seriously and MasterCard introduces the concept of Pay by selfies,” she added.

    Going further, she divided ideas into two types:
