    Mumbai: Continuing its dynamic expansion in the global telco, ISP (Internet Service Provider), and OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) landscape, Shemaroo Entertainment, one of India’s leading media & entertainment conglomerates, has successfully extended its OTT arm, ShemarooMe, to six additional international telecom operators. The collaboration with STC, Zain and Batelco in Bahrain, Grameenphone in Bangladesh, XL Axiata in Indonesia and Ooredoo in Oman, facilitated through esteemed DCB (direct carrier billing) partners Timwetech, Boost Connect and SLA Digital, signifies yet another noteworthy achievement in Shemaroo’s steadfast dedication to providing seamless and diversified entertainment experiences to global audiences. This partnership will offer customers the option to pay for the subscription of ShemarooMe through their mobile operator’s payment gateway.

    This strategic initiative extends the reach of ShemarooMe OTT to a wider demographic, establishing accessibility through around 15 telecom providers spanning key regions such as Southeast Asia, SAARC, and the MENA region. This expansion aligns perfectly with Shemaroo’s overarching vision of transcending entertainment barriers, delivering premium content across borders, and catering to an assorted range of viewer preferences.

    Eros Now Expands its Presence in Indonesia Through Partnership with XL Home of XL Axiata

    MUMBAI: Eros International PLC (NYSE:EROS) (“Eros”), a leading global company in the Indian film entertainment industry, announced today that Eros Now, its cutting-edge digital over-the-top (OTT) South Asian entertainment platform, has partnered with major cellular provider XL Axiata’s  home entertainment and fibre optic internet offering – XL Home in Indonesia.

    XL Axiata is a part of the Axiata Group, which offers an array of innovative telecommunications products and services ranging from voice, SMS and Value-Added Services (VAS) to mobile data covering more than 93% of the population throughout Indonesia and having a robust subscriber base of 53.9 million. With the rise of more choices in viewing content habits, XL Axiata has recently launched XL Home, a home broadband entertainment service, backed with speedy and stable fibre optic internet connection that allows customers to choose their favourite entertainment and pay for the content or television channels they prefer.

    This association further leverages the platform’s global position and cements Eros Now’s presence in key emerging markets like Indonesia. Indonesia is one of many countries in Asia with a thriving community of Bollywood film fans. The partnership between Eros Now and XL Home will allow consumers easy access to home entertainment with fibre optic internet, offering Eros Now’s massive library of over 11,000 films, original shows and music videos. From classics like Ram Aur Shyam to blockbusters like Devdas, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, and Bajirao Mastani, consumers will have access to a wide array of quality entertainment at a monthly subscription of IDR 26,000 ($1.79 USD) and an annual subscription of IDR 260,000 ($17.93 USD). 

    Commenting on the association, Rishika Lulla Singh, CEO, Eros Digital said, “We want to continue creating strong differentiated content strategies and cater to the growing influence of Indian content worldwide.     As previously announced in September of this year, Eros Now entered the Indonesian market through a distribution partnership with Xiaomi’s Mi TV. The integration with XL Axiata further affirms Eros Now’s penetration strategy in the Indonesian market.

    MUMBAI: The largest media group in Indonesia, Havas Media Group, has appointed Pranay Shah Singh as head of strategy for Indonesia.

     

    In his new role, Singh will be responsible for strengthening the strategic output on key clients including, XL Axiata, Danone, AXA, LG Electronics and Kakao Talk. He will also work closely with account leads, innovation and new business teams to drive the adoption of group’s proprietary – meaningful brands research and meaningful connections planning process that helps brands connect with people and create shared value for brands and consumers.

     

    He will report jointly to Havas Media Group APAC chief strategy officer SK Biswas and Havas Media Group Indonesia CEO Riadi Sugihtani.

     

    Biswas said, “In addition to his media expertise, Pranay brings with him a lateral thinking approach to consumer insights, branding and business issues that connects well with the Meaningful Brands approach at Havas Media Group. He has also shown great curiosity and enthusiasm for the market and I have no doubt that he will prove to be an asset to our pool of clients, who are banking on our support to reach the next level in their meaningfulness journey .”

     

    Singh joins the agency with ten years of experience in the dynamic Indian media industry, where he developed an expertise in strategic planning, media research, consulting and content marketing, working with multinational media agencies and boutique consulting. His last stint was with ZenithOptimedia India, where he led communications planning for FMCG companies like Reckitt Benckiser and Nestle. His involvement in social initiatives like Dhriti and recognition as a rising media star in India by Brand Equity magazine, are testament to his interest in the evolution of communications, and how it impacts society and culture.

    Last year the group launched its second agency brand Arena in the country, which has been on a winning spree nabbing the business of Indofood and LG Electronics.
