    World Tennis League Season 3 action on Sony Sports from 19 December

    MUMBAI: Four days of fast-paced tennis starting today, 19 December, with some of the leading players globally battling it out in the World Tennis League (WTL) Season 3 for the title of champion team. That’s what tennis lovers are going to be glued to on the Sony Sports Network (SSN) till 22 December. 

    SSN has acquired the exclusive television and digital rights for the tournament for India, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, Maldives, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. The year-end treat has Sania Mirza and Rob Koeing serving as commentators. 

    The WTL is a one of its kind mixed gender leagues which is being  held at the Etihad Arena, Yas Island, in Abu Dhabi with thrilling match ups between four teams namely Eagles, Falcons, Hawks and Kites.

    What makes the tournament even more interesting is the presence of the players like Stefanos Tsitsipas, Andrey Rublev, Casper Ruud, Daniil Medvedev, Nick Kyrgios, Taylor Fritz, Hubert Hurkacz and Sumit Nagal from India in the Men’s. On the other hand, the women stars participating include the likes of Iga Swiatek, Barbora Krej?íková, Paula Badosa, Elena Rybakina, Aryna Sabalenka, Caroline Garcia, Jasmine Paolini, and Mirra Andreeva.

    During the tournament, the teams will play each other in a round-robin format. Each tie will consist of four sets: one men’s singles match, one women’s singles match, and two doubles sets, which may include men’s doubles, women’s doubles, or mixed doubles, as determined by the team that wins the coin toss.

    Following the round-robin phase, the top two teams will face off in the final on 22 December 2024.

    Hawks – Aryna Sabalenka, Mirra Andreeva, Taylor Fritz, Sumit Nagal

    Kites – Jasmine Paolini, Paula Badosa, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Nick Kyrgios

    Live performances by ageing evergreen Canadian rockstar Bryan Adams and Anastacia (19 December) and by Akon (21 December) are other standouts for the WTL What was not clear at the time of writing was whether the performances were going to be aired.     Mumbai: The World Tennis League (WTL) returns for its third season from 19 to 22 December 2024 at Abu Dhabi’s Etihad Arena. Organised by Abu Dhabi Sports Council, in partnership with the Department of Culture and Tourism and Miral, WTL season three will feature 16 top players across four teams, including Nick Kyrgios, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Iga Świątek, Aryna Sabalenka, Daniil Medvedev, and India’s Sumit Nagal.

    Alongside tennis, performances by Bryan Adams, Akon, Sean Paul, and Anastacia will add to the entertainment. This year’s ‘Kids Watch For Free’ initiative allows up to four children to enter for free with each adult ticket purchased. The previous edition drew 20,000 attendees and was broadcast in over 125 countries. WTL aims to further cement itself as a major global event by combining world-class sports and entertainment.

    Mumbai: The World Tennis League (WTL) is delighted to announce that the Grammy Award winning-artist Akon will be performing at the third season of the league, scheduled to be held at the iconic Etihad Arena from 19 to 22 December 2024.

    With Akon joining the legendary rock musician Bryan Adams and American pop diva Anastacia in a star-studded line-up of artists, the WTL promises to be bigger and more exciting as it builds on the success of the previous seasons.

    The chart-topping artist, who performed in the last edition, is set to enthral the crowd with his live performances on 21  December, concluding the penultimate day of the WTL 2024 at the Etihad arena in Yas Island.

    Mumbai: The World Tennis League has announced the addition of American singer-songwriter Anastacia Lyn Newkirk to its lineup for the third season, scheduled to be held at the iconic Etihad Arena from 19 to 22 December 2024.

    The American pop diva will join legendary rock musician Bryan Adams, who is set to perform on the opening night of WTL 2024, creating a stellar lineup that will dazzle audiences on and off the court. She will take the stage on the second day (20 December) of the third edition of the World Tennis League.
