    Movies Now launches ‘High Rollers’ quiz for media & ad fraternity

    MUMBAI: Movies Now has launched a first-of-its kind quiz for the fraternity with an aim attract media agencies and advertising clients for its new property called High Rollers.

     

    To participate in the Hollywood quiz, media agencies and advertising clients can log on to the specially created micro-website and answer a few simple questions about stars, movies, and Hollywood trivia.

     

    Movies Now has brought on board Urban Ladder as the presenting sponsor for High Rollers. Movies, which will be aired include Taken 2, Dark Knight Rises, Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows, Wolf of Wall Street, What Happens in Vegas, Men in Black, Wolverine, Knight & Day, Mr & Mrs Smith, Transporter, Salt, Fast & Furious 6 and Ocean’s 11.

     

    The channel has been airing 24 Hollywood flicks that star megastars like George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Cameron Diaz, Tom Cruise, Jason Statham, Christian Bale and Leonardo Di Caprio in the six-week property. High Rollers will be aired from Monday to Thursday at 11 pm.

     

    Ten weekly winners will be awarded prizes like 1TB hard drive, Sony headphones and JBL speakers. What’s more, the mega prize includes an iPhone 6, which will be given to three lucky winners. There will be a leader board and whoever has the highest points in a week wins. The ultimate winner will be the person with the maximum right answers.

     

    The four-week-long engagement activity will not just reward individuals but also the agencies. The individual scores will be added to the agency scores. The Lifetime agency point leaders will win two PS4s.

    MUMBAI: Much to the dismay of Wolverine fans all over, Hugh Jackman confirmed that his final appearance as Wolverine will be in 2017 with the movie X-Men Superhero in the third Wolverine spin-off film, reports Independent.

     

    The actor made the announcement while making an appearance on the American talk show Dr. Oz.

     

    According to The Hollywood Reporter, rumours of Jackman’s last appearance as Wolverine have been floating on social media ever since the actor uploaded a picture on Intagram with the caption: ‘Wolverine. One last time.’ 

     

    Over the years, Jackman was almost synonymous as Wolverine amongst the X Men fans worldwide. When the actor was asked his reasons for giving up such a character that has brought him so much love and respect, Jackman said, “It just felt like it was the right time to do it. And let’s be honest, 17 years. I never thought in a million years it would last, so I’m so grateful to the fans for the opportunity of playing it.”

     

    Jackman has starred in two spin-off films: X-Men Origins: Wolverine and The Wolverine and is due to appear in a third. Wolverine III, as it is currently known, will be released in 2017. When Jackman finally says goodbye to his role in 2017, he will have appeared in nine movies as Wolverine.

    MUMBAI: Turner Broadcasting System Asia Pacific has announced that Toonami, its popular all-adventure kids channel, is slated to launch in Thailand on 14 January 2015 and will be seen in 11 million households as a cable and satellite channel across the country.

     
    Toonami will be broadcast in Thai language and will have a wide appeal to local viewers with a programme line-up packed with high-octane, top-rating animated series and movies. The channel is set to become a favourite destination for the action-and-adventure enthusiasts in every family.

    MUMBAI: From the creation of India’s first 2D animated TV series and 2D feature film, to India’s first 3D stereoscopic theatrical- Toonz Animation has indeed emerged as one of the biggest and the most admired animation production houses in South Asia.

    Moreover, it is launching a new show called ‘HTDT’, a 52 x 11 minutes series. The show which is created by live shots and produced and distributed by Toonz, is currently in pre-sale.

     

    So what does the company expect from MIPCOM this year? “We’re hoping to have maximum exposure and opportunities to meet with those interested in our library of content, which has, Wolverine, Magic beyond Words and FreeFonix series.”

     

    Jayakumar hopes to get a few international co-productions kick started and meet with international producers interested in producing content, for which the company can get Indian rights.

    Fox gets David James Kelly to script next ‘Wolverine’

    MUMBAI: Fox has roped in David James Kelly as scribe for the next installment of The Wolverine, the X-Men franchise spinoff that James Mangold will direct with Hugh Jackman reprising his signature role.

     

    The studio is eyeing a 3 March 2017, release. Kelly is also in line to adapt the Dark Horse graphic novel Mind Mgmt for Scott Free Productions and the original pitch Sentinel for Appian Way and Fox.

     

    The 2013 released The Wolverine made on a production budget of $120 million managed to make nearly $415 million in worldwide collections.
