    MUMBAI: Connecting with millennials and bringing spotlight on the tiger conservation,Animal Planet has launched a new digital campaign #usetigeremoji. Announcing its annual tiger campaign Where Tigers Rule, Animal Planet’s #usetigeremoji proposes use of tiger emojito convey the universal message of tigers’ protection by bringing them back on our keypads and in our thoughts.

    Saving endangered tigers, one emoji at a time; the #usetigeremoji campaign raises concern about the dwindling population of tigers in the wild and even lesser in our minds. 

    Animal Planet’s innovativecampaign #usetigeremoji includes ways to be a part of the movement:
    •Tweet ‎@AnimalPlanetIn and sign up to extend support to the cause.

    In one week of its launch, #usetigeremoji has marked more than 1.2 million impressions, 
    Over 10,200 tweets with #UseTigerEmoji, 100 thousand videos views.

    #usetigeremoji digital campaign seeks to encourage the use of tiger emojis to spread awareness about tiger extinction. The campaign urges millennials to spread awareness about importance of tigers by the use of tiger emoji in their everyday communication.

    The campaign has been co-conceptualised and executed by twentythreedigital agency on behalf of Animal Planet.

    Airing this March, every night at 9 pm, Animal Planet’s WHERE TIGERS RULE is an annual campaign to protect and conserve the tiger population in India.  In its fifth year, Sonakshi Sinha is the face of this year’s campaign, which has earlier gained support from leading Bollywood stars like Ajay Devgn, Irrfan Khan, BipashaBasu, NargisFakhri, Chitrangda Singh and AbhayDeol amongst others.

    MUMBAI: Animal Planet has launched fifth annual campaign to protect and conserve the tiger population in India with actress Sonakshi Sinha as the face of the campaign.

    As part of Animal Planet’s 2016 ‘Where Tigers Rule’ campaign, the channel will offer viewers a peek into the lives, habitats, behaviour of various tiger species from 1 March every day at 9 pm.

    Tweaking a popular dialogue from one of her films for this campaign, Sinha said, “Danger se darr nahi lagta, endangered se lagta hai.”

    The campaign will bring captivating stories of tigers – their co-existence with humans, the threatening environment and the conservation efforts of leading experts from India and around the world. It has been filmed in breathtaking landscapes located in India’s forests, grasslands and protect reserves, including Madhya Pradesh’s Kanha and Bandhavgarh National Parks, Uttarakhand’s Jim Corbett National Park, Rajasthan’s Sariska and Ranthambore National Parks, West Bengal’s Sunderbans, and Maharashtra’s Tadoba.

    Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific EVP and general manager – South Asia Rahul Johri said, “My entire team feels deeply gratified that the tiger population in India has increased in the last few years. The campaign attempts to bring attention to the imminent danger to tigers and to sensitise millions of viewers through breathtaking programming. We are ecstatic that we have made a small and vital contribution. The challenge is far from over and we will continue to invest our resources and energy and lead the campaign from the front.”

    Expressing the true passion for wildlife Sinha added, “I feel fortunate that I can participate in this wonderful cause and be a change agent. I believe that humans have to respect other species and their habitats and adapt to co-exist. My parents took me to a national park to see a tiger and I would certainly love to take my children one day and show them this magnificent creature.”

    Discovery Tamil launches a month long programming initiative ‘WHERE TIGERS RULE’

    MUMBAI: Discovery Tamil brings for its viewers a month long programming line-up – WHERE TIGERS RULE, to celebrate India’s regal national animal, tigers.

     

    Premiering every night at 8 PM in April on Discovery Tamil, WHERE TIGERS RULE will present viewers with engaging programmes on the tigers’ behaviour, predatory skills, legends and issues related to its survival. Filmed in breathtaking landscapes in magnificent forests, grasslands and protected reserves, WHERE TIGERS RULE will provide an intimate look into the mysterious world of the tiger.

     

    Joining Discovery Tamil’s initiative to create awareness on tigers, the famous Indian actor, Shruti Hassan, will share her personal messages with the viewers, raising consciousness on the diminishing number of tigers and the need for conservation. Shruti has been a wildlife enthusiast and has a passion towards animal conservation in the country.

     

    Announcing the series Rahul Johri, Senior Vice President and General Manager – South Asia, Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific and Head of Revenue, Pan-Regional Ad Sales and Southeast Asia, said, “Discovery Tamil in last few years have gained huge popularity in the region and amongst the Tamil speaking audience.     The month long programme Where Tigers Rule will enlighten viewers about tigers’ behaviour, predatory skills, family life and issues related to illegal poaching. All through April, the channel will air programmes to raise consciousness on the diminishing number of tigers and the need for conservation.

    MUMBAI: Animal Planet will bring the country’s attention on India’s majestic animal – Tiger – with its special month-long programming initiative WHERE TIGERS RULE.

    Leading Bollywood actors Abhay Deol and Chitrangada Singh have joined India’s leading wildlife channel Animal Planet to create nationwide awareness on the threats affecting tigers’ survival and the acute role tigers play in balancing India’s ecosystem.

    From the breathtaking landscapes of Sundarbans to the magnificent forests of Ranthambore, WHERE TIGERS RULE provides an intimate look into the mysterious world of tigers. Featuring some of the leading tiger experts like Alphonse Roy, Valmik Thapar, Saba Douglas Hamilton, Dave Salmoni, Simon King, John Varty, Niall McCann, WHERE TIGERS RULE showcases the elusive lifestyle of tigers and raise concern about the grave situation of dwindling tiger population.

    With a few thousand tigers left in the wild, every small effort represents hope for their survival.

    Through this engaging month-long line-up, Animal Planet’s WHERE TIGERS RULE highlights the secret lives of this private predator revealing its behaviour, predatory skills, conflict with humans, habitat destruction, poaching and conservation issues.
     

    WHERE TIGERS RULE will air every night at 8 PM from 1st to 31st March, only on Animal Planet.

    Now in its third year, Animal Planet’s WHERE TIGERS RULE has previously been supported by Ajay Devgn, Bipasha Basu and John Abraham.  The cause also gained affiliation from Olympic gold medalist Abhinav Bindra, filmmaker Mike Pandey and conservationists Belinda Wright.
     

    Some of the programmes in line-up include:
     

    SWAMP TIGER documents the life of the most elusive of cats – the royal Bengal tiger of the Sundarbans. Using elaborate night-sight equipment sensitive to moon and stars, the viewers will watch never-seen-before sight of a female tiger covering a carcass with leaves just before dawn and many revelations that follow.
     

    TIGERS NEXT DOOR takes a look at an intimate portrait of Sita, an Indian tigress and her cubs in the forest of Bandhavgarh in Central India.  The film analyses political changes sweeping across the nation which could mean a better future for the locals and tigers alike.
     

    INDIA – KINGDOM OF THE TIGER is a historical epic depicting India from 1910 to the modern era. The film chronicles life of Jim Corbett, the famed English hunter-naturalist, as he races to save an Indian village from the terror of a man-eating tiger.

    Naturalist and filmmaker John Varty and zoologist David Salmoni are the ultimate friends of these beautiful animals. LIVING WITH TIGERS follows their dynamic and ambitious program which has been developed to reintroduce captive tigers into the wild.

     

    TIGER, HUNTING FOR A HOME looks at some of the issues concerning the plight of Tigers and how their existence or extinction impacts life around them.
