  • India West Indies Test series average at 3.76 TVR

India West Indies Test series average at 3.76 TVR

MUMBAI: Debunking the notion that viewer fatigue might happen with India cricket taking place almost every month, the recently concluded three match Test series at home between India and West Indies averaged a TVR of 3.76 on Neo Cricket according to Tam data for c&s 4+ market.

This was much better compared to the TVR of 2.49 that the away three match Test series between the two countries had managed on Ten Cricket earlier in the year. Of course timings also played a big role in the performance in addition to the fact that the big names were present.

Not surprisingly the highest rated match this time was the drawn match in Mumbai where both teams finished on the same score. That match got a TVR of 4.36. All the three Test matches crossed a TVR of 3. This shows that if the quality of the match is good and India is doing well then viewers will tune in.

MPG India senior director R Venkatasubramanian called the delivery amazing for Test cricket. “The series had exciting cricket being played. Each match was interesting and there were turning points.”He adds that the CPRP for both the India West Indies series away and at home was satisfactory.

Zee Sports back on Hathway; Incable blackout stays

MUMBAI: Zee Sports is back on Hathway Cable & Datacom in Mumbai, but has reached no agreement yet with Incablenet.

The case with Incablenet comes up for hearing in the Telecom Disputes Settlement and Appellate Tribunal (TDSAT) tomorrow. Incablenet had moved the TDSAT, seeking restoration of signals as “Zee Sports had not served a 21-day notice before blacking out the signals.”

Sources say signals, however, were restored to Hathway today as the multi-system operator (MSO) had agreed to enter into a commercial agreement.

Zee Sports was put back on cable networks in Pune after the Pune District Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum directed Zee Sports to restore the signals till further hearings on 21 September. Zee had restored the signals in Pune following the order, but moved the Commission.

Zee Sports has the exclusive telecast rights for the DLF Cup between India, Australia and West Indies. The tri-series will last till 24 September.

  • Pakistan v West Indies 1st ODI live on Ten Sports

MUMBAI: Pakistan will be looking to build on their success in the Test series as they take on the West Indies in the first ODI on Tuesday, live and exclusively on Ten Sports.

The home team have had a turbulent year but the last month has all been good with a two nil victory in the test series and Mohammad Yousuf breaking Sir Viv Richards long standing record for most runs in a calendar year.

The visitors will look to their recent good performances in the Champions Trophy to lift them after the Test defeats. In that tournament they gained victories over Australia, India and South Africa to get them to the final but then found the Aussies just too good for them.

As well as the disappointment of losing the Test series the tourists will also have to cope without the services of both Ramnaresh Sarwan and Dwayne Bravo who are out of the series due to a broken foot and personal reasons respectively.

On home soil Pakistan will be favourites to gain victory in the opening match but they know they will have to perform to their best to make sure they get the upper hand.

All the action will be live on Ten Sports starting at 11-15 IST.
