    MUMBAI: Sony Sab has slipped to fourth spot on pay platform in week 52 (Saturday 26 December 2020 to Friday 1January 2021) of Broadcast Audience Research Council of India (BARC) data. &TV for the third consecutive week has grabbed tenth spot on pay platform.

    In week 52 of Barc India ratings top ten channels on pay platform were Star Plus, Colors,Zee TV, Sony Sab,  Sony Entertainment Television, Star Utsav, Sony Pal, Star Bharat, Dangal, and &TV

    Urban Market

    In the urban market, the top ten channels were Star Plus,Colors,Sony Sab, Star Utsav, Zee TV, Sony Entertainment Television, Sony Pal,  Dangal, ColorsRistey, and Zee Anmol are in week 52 of Barc India ratings.

    Rural Market

    Star Utsav, Zee Anmol, Sony Pal, ColorsRishtey, Dangal,Zee TV,  Star Plus, Sony Sab, Colors and Big Magic  were the top ten channels in the rural market in week 52 of Barc India ratings.

    Free Platform

    On the free platform Star Utsav, Zee Anmol,Sony Pal, ColorsRishtey, Dangal, Big Magic, Shemaroo TV, DD National, DD Retro and DD Bharati were the top ten channels in week 52 of Barc India ratings.

    BARC week 51 & 52: Colors grabs leading position in urban market

    MUMBAI: Colors has moved to leading position in week 52 of BARC India ratings from second position in week 51 in urban market. On pay platform, Star Plus continues to hold the first position and Colors continues to hold the second position in week 51 and 52.

    In urban market, Star Plus and Colors exchanged their place at first and second position in week 52 of BARC India ratings. Colors, STAR Plus, SONY SAB, Sony Entertainment Television, Zee TV, Dangal, STAR Bharat, &TV, Big Magic, STAR Utsav was the order.

    On pay platform, the pecking order of channels remained unchanged in week 52. STAR Plus, Colors, SONY SAB, Zee TV, Sony Entertainment Television, STAR Bharat, Dangal, STAR Utsav, Colors Rishtey, &TV were the top ten channels in week 51 and 52.

    In rural market, Dangal, Big Magic, Zee TV,  STAR Plus, SONY SAB, Colors, Sony Entertainment Television, STAR Bharat, Colors Rishtey, STAR Utsav were the top 10 channels in week 52.

    On free platform, Dangal, Big Magic, DD National, Manoranjan Grand, DD Bharati, DD Arunprabha, DD Madhya Pradesh,DD Uttar Pradesh, DD Rajasthan were top ten channels in week 52.

    English GEC genre becomes top gainer in Chrome DM week 52

    MUMBAI: English GEC genre has become the top gainer in week 52 of Chrome Data Analytics and Media data. The genre grew by 3.37 per cent. In this genre, Comedy Central channel gained the highest OTS with 44.6 per cent in 6 metros market.

    OTS is the actual census-based percentage connectivity of a channel spread across 81 million homes, as reported by Chrome DM, across analogue cable, digital cable, and DTH.

    This week, Hindi GEC gained second position and grew by 1.57 per cent in HSM excluding <1 lakh market. In this genre, DD National channel gained the highest OTS with 98.4 per cent. Youth genre stood in the third position by gaining 1.45 per cent in HSM excluding <1 lakh market. MTV secured the highest OTS with 88.6 per cent.

    English Movies genre stood in the fourth position in six metros market and grew by 1.05 per cent. Romedy NOW channel gained the highest OTS with 49.5 per cent. Business News genre stood on the fifth position and grew by 0.97 per cent in 6 metros market. In this genre, CNBC Awaz  gained the highest OTS with 84.9 per cent.

    WWE dominates programme ratings; Ten 1 returns to lead ratings

    MUMBAI: After staying away from the top of the table, Ten 1 returns as the most viewed channel in BARC ratings for Week 52 (24 December to 30 December). With no major sporting league currently on, sport viewers returned to their perennial favourite WWE, pushing Star Sports 2 on to the second spot. The top-ranked channel got a total of 66865 impressions in the All India, CS 4+ data.

    After leading for two consecutive weeks for India’s heroics against England in the test series, Star Sports 2 dropped to the second spot, to be followed by Star Sports 1 with 45358 and 21781 impressions respectively. Ten 2 took the fourth spot with 15512 impressions and the list was concluded with Star Sports 3 moving to the fifth spot, garnering 14051 impressions.

    After cricket’s unbridled domination for two consecutive weeks, WWE came back and how! The wrestling show once again proved its credentials, sweeping off the top programs’ list. Ten 1 appears on the list four times, with various programmes of WWE featuring on the top three with 1152, 1044 and 1019 impressions respectively. The fourth spot is held by Ten 2, flanked by WWE Raw as the program with 917 impressions. The list is completed with Ten 1 featuring with Incredible Innings coming on the fifth slot, with 781 impressions.

    The next week might see an interesting battle of numbers, with both Premier Badminton League and Pro-Wrestling League beginning on the 01 and 02 January, respectively. With the badminton league being beamed on the Star Network and PWL being broadcast on the SPNI network, it can be seen as a two-horsed war from the onset of 2017.
