    BARC week 41: Colors retains second spot on pay platform & urban market

    MUMBAI: Zee TV displaced Sony Sab to bag the third spot on pay platform in week 41 (Saturday 10 October 2020 to Friday 16 October 2020) of Broadcast Audience Research Council of India (BARC) data. Sony Entertainment Television climbed up to fifth position in pay platform. Sony Sab secured fourth spot on pay platform and urban market.

    In the urban market, the top ten channels were Star Plus, Colors, Star Utsav, Sony Sab, Zee TV, Sony Entertainment Television, Sony Pal, Colors Ristey,  Dangal, and Zee Anmol in week 41 of BARC India ratings.

    On the Free platform, Star Utsav, Zee Anmol, Sony Pal, Colors Rishtey, Dangal, Big Magic, Shemaroo TV, DD National, DD Bharati and DD Retro were the top ten channels in week 41 of BARC India ratings.

    BARC week 41: VTV News enters top five Gujarati channels’ list

    MUMBAI: In week 41 of BARC India ratings, Gujarati GECs space witnessed a new entrant VTV News at fifth position. The channel has replaced Sandesh News which was seen at fifth position in week 40. No changes were observed in Kannada, Marathi and Tamil spaces in week 41 of BARC India ratings. 

    In the Gujarati space, Colors Gujarati, Colors Gujarati Cinema, ABP Asmita TV9 Gujarati and VTV News were the top five Gujarati channels.

    BARC week 41: Sony, Star, Dangal retain their No 1 positions in urban, pay and rural markets

    MUMBAI: In week 41 of BARC India ratings, Colors is placed at the fourth position from second last week in urban market. The channel has also moved down from second position in the last week to fifth position this week on pay platform. Even in rural market the channel has slipped from fifth position to seventh position. Sony Entertainment Television continues to hold first position in urban market. The pecking order of the Hindi GEC in urban market were Sony Entertainment Television, Star Plus, Sony SAB, Colors, ZEE TV, Dangal, Star Bharat, &TV, Big Magic and Star Utsav at first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth, ninth and tenth positions respectively.

  • TAM week 41: Colors secures leadership position

    TAM week 41: Colors secures leadership position

    MUMBAI: Colors has yet again moved ahead of Star Plus to secure the leading position in the Hindi general entertainment channels (GECs) genre in week 41 of TAM Media Research. Star Plus witnessed a downfall in rating and secured the second position in the tally.

     

    Colors grabbed the first slot with 247 GRPs against 228 GRPs in week 40 followed by Star Plus in the second slot with 231 GRPs against 248 GRPs in the previous week.

     

    Zee TV saw a rise in ratings and bagged the third place in the genre with 149 GRPs against 137 GRPs in the previous week.

     

    With a marginal decline in ratings, Sab secured the fourth place with 123 GRPs followed by Sony Entertainment TV in the fifth slot with 122 GRPs and Life OK in sixth place with 121 GRPs.

     

    &TV with 62 GRPs grabbed seventh berth in the genre.

     

    Four of Colors’ prime time shows were in the the top five Hindi GEC programmes in week 41. The top three shows were on Colors namely Swaragini in first position with 4.34 TVR, followed by Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat in second spot with 4 TVR and Udaan in the third slot with 3.93 TVR. On the other hand, Star Plus’ Saath Nibhana Saathiya dropped to the fourth position with 3.71 TVR. Colors’ Sasural Simar Ka with 3.63 TVR took hold of the fifth berth.
