    BARC week 39: Colors bags second spot on pay platform & urban market

    MUMBAI: Colors displaced Sony Sab to bag the second spot on pay platform in Week 40 (Saturday 3 October 2020 to Friday 9 October 2020) of Broadcast Audience Research Council of India (BARC) data. Sony Entertainment Television slipped down to sixth position in pay platform and urban market. Sony Sab secured fourth spot in urban market.

    Pay Platform

    On Pay platform Star Plus, Colors, Sony Sab, Zee TV, Star Utsav, Sony Entertainment Television, Sony Pal, Star Bharat, Colors Rishtey and Dangal were the top 10 channels in week 40 of BARC India ratings.

    Urban 

    In the urban market, the top ten channels were Star Plus, Colors, Star Utsav, Sony Sab, Zee TV, Sony Entertainment Television, Sony Pal, Colors Ristey,  Dangal, and Zee Anmol are in week 40 of BARC India ratings.

    Rural

    Star Utsav, Zee Anmol, Sony Pal,  Dangal, Colors Rishtey, Star Plus, Zee TV, Big Magic, Colors and Sony Sab and were the top ten channels in the rural market.

    Free Platform

    On the Free platform Star Utsav, Zee Anmol, Sony Pal, Colors Rishtey, Dangal, Big Magic, Shemaroo TV, DD National, DD Bharati and DD Retro were the top ten channels in week 40 of BARC India ratings.

    Chrome DM week 40: Hindi News emerges as top gainer

    KOLKATA: Hindi news genre has become the top gainer in week 40, 2020 of Chrome Data Analytics and Media data, albeit with marginal growth. The genre has grown by 0.63 per cent.

    In this genre, ABP News has gained the highest OTS with 99.9 in the HSM excl < 1 market. OTS is the actual census-based percentage connectivity of a channel spread across 81 million homes, as reported by Chrome DM, across analogue cable, digital cable, and DTH.

    This week, business news has emerged as the distant second on the top gainers list with a growth of 0.19 per cent in the six metros market. In this genre, CNBC Awaz has gained the highest OTS with 81.9 per cent.

    Among other genres, infotainment, English movies, Hindi Movies have grown negligibly by of 0.06, 0.02. 0.01 per cent respectively.

    MUMBAI: In week 40 of BARC India ratings, no changes were observed in Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam space. In Bhojpuri space, Bhojpuri Cinema took the leading position and B4U which was leading last week has slipped to second position.

    In Bhojpuri space, Bhojpuri Cinema, B4U Bhojpuri, Big Ganga, Bhojpuri Dhamaka DISHUM and Dabangg were the top five channels in the week 40 of BARC India ratings.

    BARC week 40: Star Plus slips to third position, SET continues to lead in urban market

    MUMBAI: In the week 40 of BARC India ratings, the leading Hindi GEC Star Plus slipped to third position, last week the channel was seen at second position but the channel continues to hold first position on pay platform. In the urban market, Sony Entertainment Television and Colors were seen at first and second position respectively. This is the third consecutive week where SET is leading in urban space. Week 40 witnessed two new entrants on the free platform, Manoranjan Grand entered at third position and in rural space Colors Rishtey entered at tenth position.

    In urban space, Sony Entertainment Television, Colors, Star Plus, Sony SAB, Zee TV, Dangal, Star Bharat, &TV, Big Magic and Star Utsav were at first, second, third. fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth, ninth and tenth position.

    Infotainment genre becomes top gainer in Chrome DM week 40

    MUMBAI: Infotainment genre has become the top gainer in week 40 of Chrome Data Analytics and Media data. The genre grew by 0.48 per cent. In this genre, History TV18 channel gained the highest OTS with 85.2 per cent in all India 1lakh market.

    OTS is the actual census-based percentage connectivity of a channel spread across 81 million homes, as reported by Chrome DM, across analogue cable, digital cable, and DTH.

    This week, religious gained second position and grew by 0.33 per cent in HSM excluding <1 lakh market. In this genre, Aastha channal gained the highest OTS with 98 per cent. Hindi news genre stood in the third position by gaining 0.28 per cent in HSM excluding <1 lakh market. DD News secured the highest OTS with 99.2 per cent.

    Music stood in fourth position in HSM excluding <1 lakh market and grew by 0.08 per cent. 9XM channel gained the highest OTS with 97.4 per cent. English genre stood on the fifth position and grew by 0.06 per cent in 6 metros market. In this genre, Republic TV gained the highest OTS with 99.4 per cent.
