    BARC week 11: Zee TV slips to sixth spot in urban market.

    MUMBAI: Star Plus, Sony Sab and Zee TV have continued to remain as top three channels in urban market and pay platform (Saturday 13 March 2021 to Friday 19 March 2021) of Broadcast Audience Research Council of India (BARC) data. Zee TV has slipped down to the sixth spot in urban market. 

    Pay Platform

    In week 11 of BARC India ratings, the top ten channels on pay platform were Star Plus, Sony Sab, Zee TV, Colors, Sony Entertainment Television, Star Utsav, Sony Pal, Star Bharat, Dangal, and Colors Rishtey.

    Urban Market

    In the urban market, the top ten channels were Star Plus, Sony Sab, Colors, Star Utsav,  Sony Entertainment Television, Zee TV,  Sony Pal, Dangal, Colors Ristey, and Zee Anmol in week 11 of BARC India ratings.

    Rural Market

    Star Utsav, Zee Anmol, Sony Pal, Dangal, Colors Rishtey, Star Plus, Zee TV, Sony Sab,  Big Magic, and Colors were the top ten channels in the rural market in week 11 of BARC India ratings.

    Free Platform

    On the free platform Star Utsav, Zee Anmol, Sony Pal, Dangal, Colors Rishtey, Big Magic, Shemaroo TV, DD National, DD Retro  and DD Madhya Pradesh were the top ten channels in week 11 of BARC India ratings.

    BARC week 11: Sony SAB holds pole position in urban and pay platforms

    MUMBAI: Sony SAB led the urban market and pay platforms in week 11 of BARC India ratings. The channel also moved up from fifth position in the last week to fourth position this week. The channel's leading show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah has garnered 6610 weekly impressions (000s) in the urban market and 9441 weekly impressions (000s) on pay platform. The has been leading for more than three consecutive weeks on both the platforms. Star Plus continued to hold its second position on pay platform and urban markets. This week, Colors jumped to third position on pay platform and Zee TV slipped down to fourth position. 

    On pay platform Sony SAB, Star Plus, Colors, Zee TV, Sony Entertainment Television, Star Bharat, Dangal, Star Utsav, &TV and Colors Rishtey were the top ten channels in the week 11of BARC India ratings.

    Pay Platform

    In the urban market, the top ten channels were Sony SAB, Star Plus, Colors, Sony Entertainment Television, Zee TV, Dangal, Star Bharat, &TV, Big Magic and Star Utsav in week 11 of BARC India ratings.

    Urban

    Dangal, Big Magic, Zee TV, Sony SAB,  Star Plus, Colors, Sony Entertainment Television, Star Bharat, Colors Rishtey and Star Utsav were the top ten channels in the rural market

    Rural

    On free platform Dangal, Big Magic,  Manoranjan Grand, DD National, DD Arunprabha, DD Bharati, DD Uttar Pradesh, DD Rajasthan and DD Madhya Pradesh were the top nine channels in BARC ratings.

    English news becomes top gainer in Chrome DM week 11, 2020

    MUMBAI: English news has become the top gainer in week 11, 2020 of Chrome Data Analytics and Media data. The genre grew by 1.25 per cent. In this genre, Lok Sabha TV channel gained the highest OTS with 99.8 per cent in six metro market. 

    OTS is the actual census based, percentage connectivity of a channel spread across 86 million homes, reported by Chrome Data Analytics & Media,  spread across Analog cable, Digital Cable and DTH. The same is updated and reported to 400+ channels on a daily basis in Chrome Track 2.0.

    This week, Kids genre gained second position and grew by 0.78 per cent in all India 1 lakh+ market. In this genre, Sony YAY! Kids channel gained the highest OTS with 92.2 per cent. Business news channel stood in the third position by gaining 0.66 per cent in six metro markets. CNBC Awaz secured the highest OTS with 84.9 per cent.

    English movies genre stood in the fourth position in six metro market and grew by 0.28 per cent. Romedy Now channel gained the highest OTS with 50.1 per cent.

    MUMBAI: Zee Anmol emerged as the leader and Star Plus had a fall right from third to eighth position in the Hindi GEC (U+R) region according to Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) all India data for week 16 of 2018.

    Colors retained its leadership position in the GEC urban market this week. Moreover, Zee Anmol also retained its top position in GEC rural markets.

    Hindi GEC (U+R)

    Zee Anmol retained its top slot this week with 714895 impressions (000s). Star Bharat stood at second position with 629922 impressions (000s). Rishtey came to the third position with 626201 impressions (000s). Sony Pal, Star Utsav and Zee TV retained their fourth, fifth and sixth positions respectively with 600021 impressions (000s), 523373 impressions (000s) and 506179 impressions (000s).

    Colors jumped to the seventh position with 494038 impressions (000s). Star Plus had a fall to eighth position from third position as compared to the previous week with 457220 impressions (000s).

    Sony Entertainment Television and Sony Sab retained their ninth and tenth positions with 354487 impressions (000s) and 344705 impressions (000s) respectively.

    Hindi Rural GEC

    Zee Anmol retained its first position with 546647 impressions (000s). Rishtey stood at second position with 432512 impressions (000s).

    Sony Pal, Star Utsav and Star Bharat retained their third, fourth and fifth positions with 400012 impressions (000s), 362626 impressions (000s) and 313716 impressions (000s) respectively.

    Zee TV, Dangal TV, Big Magic, Colors and Star Plus stood at sixth, seventh, eighth, ninth and tenth positions with 191659 impressions (000s), 181551 impressions (000s), 181306 impressions (000s), 138919 impressions (000s) and 133736 impressions (000s) respectively.

    Hindi Urban GEC

    In urban GEC, Colors emerged as the leader with 355118 impressions (000s). Star Plus and Star Bharat retained their second and third positions with 323484 impressions (000s) and 316206 impressions (000s).

    Zee TV, Sony Sab, Sony Entertainment Television and Sony Pal retained their fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh positions respectively with 314519 impressions (000s), 272393 impressions (000s), 259743 impressions (000s) and 200008 impressions (000s).

    Rishtey, Zee Anmol and Star Utsav stood at eighth, ninth and tenth positions with 193689 impressions (000s), 168248 impressions (000s) and 160747 impressions (000s) respectively.

    Star Plus and Colors swapped their second and third positions this week as compared to the previous week in the GEC urban market. Moreover, Zee TV and Big Magic exchanged their positions as compared to the previous week in GEC rural market.

    Hindi GEC (U+R)

    Zee Anmol garnered the top slot this week with 676300 impressions (000s), dethroning Star Bharat to second position with 669207 impressions (000s). Sony Pal, Star Utsav, Zee TV, Star Plus and Rishtey retained their third and fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh positions respectively with 649574 impressions (000s), 568047 impressions (000s), 516099 impressions (000s), 465655 impressions (000s) and 461718 impressions (000s) respectively.

    Colors, Sony Entertainment Television and Sony Sab stood at eighth, ninth and tenth positions with 451207 impressions (000s), 341584 impressions (000s) and 341285 impressions (000s) respectively.

    Hindi Rural GEC

    Zee Anmol, Sony Pal, Star Utsav, Star Bharat, Rishtey and Dangal TV retained their first, second, third, fourth, fifth and sixth positions with 513256 impressions (000s), 425192 impressions (000s), 394805 impressions (000s), 334485 impressions (000s), 315776 impressions (000s) and 205508 impressions (000s) respectively.

    Zee TV, Big Magic, Star Plus and Colors stood at seventh, eighth, ninth and tenth positions respectively with 200400 impressions (000s), 185872 impressions (000s), 136828 impressions (000s) and 125565 impressions (000s).

    Hindi Urban GEC

    In urban GEC, Star Bharat retained its leadership with 334721 impressions (000s).

    Star Plus and Colors swapped their second and third positions this week as compared to the previous week with 328826 impressions (000s) and 325641 impressions (000s) respectively.

    Zee TV, Sony Sab, Sony Entertainment Television, Sony Pal, Star Utsav and Zee Anmol retained their fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth and ninth positions with 315698 impressions (000s), 259337 impressions (000s),251483 impressions (000s), 224381 impressions (000s), 173241 impressions (000s) and 163044 impressions (000s) respectively.

    Rishtey emerged as the new entrant in the tenth slot, dethroning &TV with 145941 impressions (000s).

Star Bharat leads GEC urban market this week. Moreover, all the channels remained at their respective positions with no change this week as compared to the previous week in GEC rural markets.

    Hindi GEC (U+R)

    Star Bharat garnered the top slot this week with 731561 impressions (000s). Zee Anmol, Sony Pal, Star Utsav, retained their second, third and fourth positions with 710197 impressions (000s), 675060 impressions (000s) and 603378 impressions (000s) respectively.

    Zee TV, Star Plus and Rishtey stood at fifth, sixth and seventh positions respectively with 534938 impressions (000s), 501433 impressions (000s) and 491626 impressions (000s).

    In urban GEC, Star Bharat entered the market as a leader with 356727 impressions (000s). Colors and Star Plus stood at second and third positions respectively with 353153 impressions (000s) and 352580 impressions (000s). Zee TV jumped to fourth position from fifth position as compared to the previous with 326288 impressions (000s).

    Sony Sab, Sony Entertainment Television, Sony Pal, Star Utsav, Zee Anmol and &TV stood at fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth, ninth and tenth positions with 286256 impressions (000s), 279487 impressions (000s), 215438 impressions (000s), 177001 impressions (000s), 160364 impressions (000s) and 128665 impressions (000s) respectively.

    Colors retained its leadership position this week in the GEC urban market this week. Moreover, all the channels remained at their respective positions with no change this week as compared to the previous week in GEC rural market.

    Hindi GEC (U+R)

    Star Bharat garnered the top slot this week with 748554 impressions (000s), dethroning Zee Anmol which stood at second position with 737113 impressions (000s).

    Sony Pal, Star Utsav, Colors and Zee TV retained their third, fourth, fifth and sixth positions with 707481 impressions (000s), 632677 impressions (000s), 530771 impressions (000s), 511841 impressions (000s) respectively.

    Sony Entertainment Television, Star Plus and Rishtey stood at seventh, eighth and ninth positions with 498249 impressions (000s), 482948 impressions (000s) and 463064 impressions (000s) respectively.

    Sony Sab retained its tenth position with 395521 impressions (000s).

    MUMBAI: Zee Anmol emerged as the leader pushing down Star Bharat to the second position in the Hindi GEC (U+R) region according to Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) all India data for week 11 of 2018.

    Rishtey made an entry pushing down &TV in GEC urban market this week. Moreover, Star Plus made an entry in the market securing the tenth position, dethroning Sony entertainment television this week in GEC rural markets as compared to the previous week.

    Hindi GEC (U+R)

    Zee Anmol garnered the top slot this week with 810969 impressions (000s). Star Bharat stood at second position with 740541 impressions (000s). Sony Pal retained its third position with 647929 impressions (000s).

    Star Utsav and Zee TV swapped their fourth and fifth positions with 598597 impressions (000s) and 576059 impressions (000s) respectively. Colors retained its sixth position with 547056 impressions (000s). Rishtey and Sony entertainment television exchanged their seventh and eighth positions with 450671 impressions (000s) and 450604 impressions (000s) respectively.

    Star Plus and Sony Sab retained their ninth and tenth positions with 437113 impressions (000s)and 387085 impressions (000s) respectively. 

    Hindi Rural GEC

    Zee Anmol and Sony Pal retained their first and second positions with 591613 impressions (000s) and 432048 impressions (000s). Star Bharat and Star Bharat exchanged their third and fourth positions as compared to the previous week with 421185 impressions (000s) and 379565 impressions (000s) respectively. Rishtey retained its fifth position with 313873 impressions (000s).

    Dangal TV, Big Magic and Zee TV stood at sixth, seventh and eighth positions respectively with 236263 impressions (000s), 224384 impressions (000s) and 216699 impressions (000s). Colors retained its ninth position with 144785 impressions (000s).

    Star Plus made an entry in the market securing the tenth position, dethroning Sony with 126542 impressions (000s).

    Hindi Urban GEC

    In urban GEC, Colors retained its leadership position with 402271 impressions (000s). Star Bharat and Zee TV swapped their second and third positions with 360976 impressions (000s) and 379565 impressions (000s) respectively. Sony Entertainment Television retained its third position with 313873 impressions (000s).

    Star Plus and Sony Sab stood at fourth and fifth positions with 310570 impressions (000s) and 301079 impressions (000s) respectively. Sony Pal retained its sixth position with 215880 impressions (000s).

    Zee Anmol and Star Utsav stood at eighth and ninth positions with 184243 impressions (000s) and 177411 impressions (000s) respectively. Rishtey made an entry with 136797 impressions (000s) by pushing &TV out of the chart.

  • Chrome data: English entertainment and movie channels gain in week 11

    Chrome data: English entertainment and movie channels gain in week 11

    MUMBAI:  The opportunity to see (OTS) data for channels collated by Chrome Data Analytics & Media for the week 11 is out.

     

    This week English entertainment channels in the eight metros saw a jump of 1.4 per cent, closely followed by English movie genre with 1 per cent jump.

     

    AXN with 70.8 per cent OTS topped the English entertainment section whereas PIX topped the charts with 76.9 per cent OTS.

     

    Infotainment channels all across India peaked 0.7 per cent with National Geographic channel garnering 88.8 per cent OTS.

     

    Hindi movies in the Hindi speaking marketing (HSM) saw a minor jump of 0.2 per cent. Max gained the highest OTS in the genre with 95.8 per cent.

     

    As for the bottom four, Sports genre across India was the maximum drop with 1.6 per cent with Ten Sports scoring the highest OTS, 75.6 per cent.

     

    In the HSM, Religious channels saw a drop of 1.4 per cent while Music genre dropped by 1.2 per cent.

     

    Aastha channel continued to the highest OTS gainer among the religious channels with 95.5 per cent. In the music genre, the channel topping the charts is Sony Mix with 86.5 per cent OTS.

     

    Kids genre across India saw a drop of 1.1 per cent with Cartoon Network being on top of the category with 83.6 per cent OTS.
