    Mumbai: Watcho has premiered a brand-new nail-biting thriller series called Wajah. The plot is based on the murder of Gauri Saxena, a young, innocent girl from a small town who befriends the son of fashion mogul Rakesh Mehra.

    In her pursuit of the killer, Inspector Sanjana causes havoc for the fashion industry’s power brokers and begins to uncover numerous hidden truths.

    Sanjay Swaraj, Navina Bole, Nishikant Dixit, Ayesha Kapoor, Aruna Giri, and Nikhil Parmar are among the series’ notable cast members. 

    Written by Kumar Siddharth, the series is directed by Satish Shukla and produced by Aashish Vishwakarma, Satish Shukla, and Darshan Khandelwal.

    Samar Goyal and the talented filmmakers Anik R. Verma and Pushkar Bhaskar Pant join forces as co-producers of this real-life-based, stylishly written murder mystery with a touch of fashion.

    Mumbai: After a successful run with its own original content, Watcho is expanding its selection by offering packages of the most well-liked OTT platforms, giving its customers access to a vast array of new digital material while maintaining the ease of a single subscription.

    Through a single login and subscription mechanism, Watcho will provide OTT content from Disney+ Hotstar, Zee5, Sony LIV, Lionsgate Play, Hungama Play, Hoichoi, Klikk, EpicOn, Chaupal, and Oho Gujarati.

    Mumbai: OTT platform Watcho, known for providing viewers with new and interesting content, announced on Monday to host 34 Korean web-series dubbed in Hindi on the platform.  

    With the motto of #RozanaKDrama, Watcho will release three hours of Korean content every day from its exhaustive Korean content library. The shows, ranging from drama, action, and romance to sci-fi, promise to keep its millennial viewers entertained and hooked. With this, Watcho is one step closer in democratising international content for mass Indian audiences by offering Korean shows dubbed in Hindi. A total of 650+ hours of Korean content will be released sequentially, with new episodes being streamed on the platform every day.  

    The first in the line-up is Welcome 2 Life, a fantasy drama that tells the story of a selfish lawyer who helps people who want to take advantage of the law. One day, he has a mysterious car accident and is drawn into a parallel world.

    The show revolves around the individuals that go to the gym every day. The CCTV camera snooping on the gym members is a key protagonist in the entire story.     Mumbai: Streaming service platform Watcho has announced the premiere of a new crime thriller titled “Happy.” The eight-episode Hindi web series is currently live now on the platform.

    “Happy” follows the journey of a chef named Happy Singh who makes his living working as a chef at a girls’ hostel. The show revolves around Happy’s pursuit of happiness, who is known for his grumpy demeanor and extraordinary culinary skills.

    The thriller is written by Hitesh Bali, under the production of Percept Purple. It features Bhagwan Das Patel playing the titular character, alongside Deeksha Sahu – who essays the role of Gunjan, the parallel character. 

    “‘Happy’ is an unconventional crime thriller that comes with a blend of suspense and hard-hitting drama.     Dish TV India reports third-quarter revenue of Rs 7107 million

    Mumbai: Dish TV India Ltd has reported its third-quarter fiscal 2022 results on Monday. The company reported operating revenue of Rs 7107 million for the quarter ended 31 December 20201. Its subscription revenue stood at Rs 6459 million, EBIDTA was Rs 4260 million and profit after tax was Rs 802 million.

    The company paid off debt of Rs 1031 million during the quarter with the resultant interest expense coming down by 57.9 per cent on a year-on-year basis. It had a closing debt of Rs 4535 million at the end of the quarter.

    In the third quarter, Dish TV India ramped up gross acquisitions to almost pre-pandemic levels, though continued dependence on exclusively internal funds restricted the ability of the business to go all out thus keeping net additions under pressure.

    “Consumers typically tend to step up spending during festivals with the season traditionally accounting for the majority of the annual revenues of businesses,” said the statement. “Expecting a similar trend and considering the earlier subdued demand due to repeated waves of the pandemic, Diwali 2021 witnessed aggressive marketing by consumer-focused companies. While higher marketing spends did help generate incremental acquisitions, consumer spending went below par once the pent-up demand was exhausted. Early cases of the third wave of the pandemic in mid-December too had a negative effect on consumption.”

    During the quarter, Dish TV India took a price hike of around 25 per cent on both its standard-definition and high-definition hardware. “With rural stress and inflationary pressures, price-sensitive customers at the bottom of the pyramid remained vulnerable to churn to the free DTH platform. Streaming platforms, as well as content bundling by telecom players, continued to give competition to DTH service providers,” said the statement.

    “As a category, DTH has been facing competition at various levels however the platform has the unique strengths that will continue to set it apart from other video platforms,” said Dish TV India Limited group CEO Anil Dua. “We remain committed to offering the best solution to our subscribers, be it in the linear or OTT space and hope to change the game with innovative offerings and winning partnerships.”

    The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai), on stakeholders’ request, recently extended the deadline for enforcing the new tariff order (NTO) 2.0 to 1 June from the earlier fixed deadline of 1 April.

    “The DTH industry has been working on the implementation of the new tariff order (NTO) keeping in mind the earlier deadline however the extended timeline will give us even more time to sort out any migration issues,” said Dish TV India Limited CMD Jawahar Goel. “We would also be watching the developments on the litigation front while simultaneously working towards implementation of the order.”
