    Mumbai: Gautama Buddha’s eternal wisdom has resonated with countless generations, transcending the boundaries of time, and echoing through the ages. However, what remains are ancient legends surrounding the final days of Gautama Buddha and relics that surround the very centre of Buddhism. Unravelling the history around the relics, Warner Bros Discovery returns with the third edition of the Secrets franchise – ‘Secrets of the Buddha Relics,’ releasing on 22 January 2024 on discovery+ and on 26 February 2024 at 9:00 pm on Discovery Channel. Created by Neeraj Pandey – Friday Storytellers and hosted by the versatile National Award and Padma Shri-awardee Manoj Bajpayee, the documentary will acquaint viewers with the historical and cultural significance of Buddha’s relics.

Delving into the types of relics and their classification, the documentary combines historical and mythological narratives to provide a comprehensive understanding of their role in Buddhism.

    Mumbai: Warner Bros Discovery has announced the acquisition of exclusive broadcast rights for the BWF Yonex Sunrise India Open. The country’s Super 750 badminton tournament on the BWF World Tour will see some of the world’s top Shuttlers compete at New Delhi’s K. D. Jadhav Indoor Hall from 16 – 21 January and viewers can catch all the live action on Eurosport India.

    The second highest level of competition on the tour, India’s national open will be played as Super 750 event for the second consecutive year. The Indian contingent will be led by world number eight and Asian Games bronze medallist H. S. Prannoy alongside Lakshya Sen, S Kidambi and Priyanshu Rajawat in the men’s singles, while in the men’s double, the crack Indian pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy / Chirag Shetty will look to bring the title back home as they enter the home tournament as second seed. While the pair of Tanisha Crasto / Ashwini Ponnappa and Treesa Jolly / Gayatri Gopichand will lead the show for India in the women’s double category.

    Mumbai: Eurosport India, part of the Warner Bros Discovery group and the preferred destination for passionate sports fans in India, has announced the acquisition of broadcast rights for the 2023 FIFA Club World Cup.

    The FIFA Club World Cup, a pinnacle event in the annual football calendar, will witness global football giants battling for supremacy in the vibrant city of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. A spectacular lineup includes eminent clubs like Manchester City FC, Fluminense FC, Club Leon, Urawa Red Diamonds, Al Ahly, and the host team, Al-Ittihad.

    Football aficionados in India can savour the brilliance of stars like Erling Haaland, Karim Benzema, and N’Golo Kanté. The thrilling kick-off unfolds with Leon versus Urawa Red at 8:00 PM IST, followed by Al Ahly taking on Al-Ittihad at 11:30 PM IST on Friday, 15th December, 2023, exclusively live on Eurosport.

    Karim Benzema’s Al-Ittihad faced Aukland City FC in the first round, securing their place in round 2. Winners from round 2 will advance to face Fluminense FC and the European champions Manchester City FC in the semi-finals.

    WPP appoints Lindsay Pattison as Global Chief People Officer

    Mumbai: WPP has appointed Lindsay Pattison as the new global chief people officer, responsible for overseeing the company’s people strategy and operations. She takes over from Jennifer Remling, who is moving on to become the chief people officer at Warner Bros. Discovery.

    Pattison currently serves as WPP’s global chief client officer, where she leads the relationships with the company’s major clients. She has held this role since 2018 and is in charge of developing and supporting the global client leaders for the company’s largest clients, which contribute significantly to WPP’s revenue. Before this, she held various leadership positions at WPP, GroupM, and the media agency Maxus.

    Throughout her career, She has been a dedicated advocate for talent development and is committed to enhancing diversity at the highest levels of business. She has a strong track record of implementing initiatives to improve gender diversity, including the successful launch of ‘Walk The Talk’ during her time as CEO of Maxus. This program aimed to empower senior women to reach their full potential and was later expanded globally within WPP, benefitting over 3,000 female leaders worldwide.

    She has also played a crucial role in WPP’s Diversity & Inclusion Council, supported the Elevate program for Black female talent, and served as the former President of WACL (Women in Advertising and Communications Leadership), where she mentored early-career talent across the industry.

    In addition to her role at WPP, Pattison serves as an independent non-executive director for the Rugby World Cup (England 2025) Limited, overseeing the delivery of the Women’s Rugby World Cup in 2025. She also holds positions on the board, including chairing the compensation committee, at Waldencast, a NASDAQ-listed global beauty and wellness company.
