    Mohit Joshi elevated to CEO, Havas Media Group

    Mumbai: Havas Group India has announced the elevation of Mohit Joshi to CEO of Havas Media Group with immediate effect. This appointment comes as part of the acceleration of the group's overall growth strategy.

    Prior to this Mohit was MD Havas Media Group. He will continue to report to Rana Barua, Group CEO, Havas Group India.

    Mohit’s 13+years at Havas Media Group has seen the agency grow exponentially. A seasoned media professional with 20+ years of experience in the industry, he has worked on a wide range of categories and brands. He has successfully straddled strategic planning, AOR management, buying functions and led multi-disciplinary teams across offices for the last many years. Some of the brands include Hyundai, Kia, Swiggy, Tata Motors, Voltas, Voltas Beko, TVS Tyres, Taj Hotels, amongst others.

    Mohit is a close observer of industry trends, he is a speaker and moderator at various leadership events including HT Leadership series, Media 360, ad:tech India, IAMAI, e-Tailing India, e4m Conclave, BW BusinessWorld; a judge at awards including Young Cannes, Spikes Asia; contributes to varied publications and is an advisory member of the MMA Forum India. Mohit is also in the mancom of AAAI and IAMAI and is actively involved in many other leading bodies.

    Anita Nayyar departs from Havas Group

    MUMBAI: After 13 years with the network, Anita Nayyar CEO of Havas Media India and Southeast (SEA) Asia, is moving on from the agency to pursue other interests. Anita who will leave the group at the beginning of May 2020, will transition the India leadership role into Mohit Joshi, Group MD reporting into Rana Barua, CEO, Havas Group India.

    Nayyar joined Havas in 2007 as CEO of Havas Media India. Under her leadership Havas Media in India grew exponentially and expanded its offerings as an integrated communications group. In 2018, Nayyar was promoted to CEO of Havas Media Southeast (SEA) Asia on the back of an accelerated growth strategy in the region, in addition to her role as CEO of Havas Media India.

    MUMBAI: Havas Group on 26 November announced the appointment of Bobby Pawar as the chairman and chief creative officer. He is currently serving as the managing director and chief creative officer at Publicis Worldwide and will be commencing his new role from January 2019.

    Taking up the full responsibilities of integrated operations and looking after the creative propositions of the Group, Bobby Pawar will report to chairman and CEO Vishnu Mohan.

    Pawar has been in the advertising industry for more than two decades and has offered his services to agencies such as Publicis, JWT, DDB Mudra Group, BBDO Chicago, and Ogilvy New York in the past.

    MUMBAI: Havas Group has promoted Anita Nayyar as CEO of Havas Media Southeast Asia on the back of an accelerated growth strategy in the region.

    This is in addition to her role as CEO of Havas Media India.

    In this newly created role, Nayyar’s expertise will enable brands in India to expand their footprint to SEA and facilitate cross fertilisation of clients.

    She will work closely with regional and local leadership in SEA to drive new business and local client strategy with a sharpened focus on driving growth leveraging Havas Group’s integrated abilities.

    Nayyar will report to Vishnu Mohan, Chairman & CEO of Havas Group, India  and Southeast Asia. The appointment is effective immediately.

    Nayyar joined Havas in 2007 as CEO of Havas Media India. Under her leadership, Havas Media in India has grown exponentially and expanded its offerings as an integrated communications group encompassing traditional, digital, mobile, performance marketing and out-of-home, among others. Her 30+years in the industry has seen her passionately manage a mega portfolio of brands across sectors.

    Speaking on her appointment, Mohan says, “The Southeast Asia region has enjoyed remarkable economic progress in recent years, especially the ASEAN countries capitalising on urbanisation, and technology.     Havas Media International appoints Aga Giedroyc as Asia Pacific GM

    MUMBAI: Havas Media International has appointed Aga Giedroyc as general manager for Asia Pacific.

     

    The new role sees Giedroyc returning back to Havas Media International (formerly MPG International), where she spent three years between 2005 to 2008 based out of London office.

     

    Giedroyc will work closely with the agency’s hubs in Singapore and Hong Kong to manage key international businesses that include Emirates, LG Electronics, Shangri-La Hotels, Accor and AXA Insurance. Her mandate includes managing international teams with a focus on delivering integrated media planning and communications solutions through Meaningful Connections planning process. She will be also be responsible for driving the integration of digital and specialised services and leading business development from existing and new clients.

     

    Giedroyc will report directly to Havas Media International global CEO Jorge Irizar and will have a dual reporting in Asia Pacific reporting in to Havas Media Group Asia Pacific CEO Vishnu Mohan and Havas Media Group, Greater China CEO Christophe Cases.

     

    An accomplished media professional with more than ten years in media communications industry, Giedroyc joins the agency with an expertise in managing regional and global clients, strategy counsel, integrated and multi-market media planning, buying & implementation, incorporating digital, network management and international operations.

     

    Most recently, she was with OMD International, where she was responsible for managing the media business of ASICS and Cisco in EMEA region. Prior to this, she spent four years with UM International.

     

    Mohan said, “The two regional hubs of Havas Media International in Singapore and Hong Kong have witnessed a major growth and expansion on the back of our big global wins in recent years. Aga has the right experience and attitude for this role and I have no doubt that she will prove to be a great asset to the international team.”

  • Havas Media’s Mobext reaches Singapore and Malaysia

    MUMBAI: Havas Media has launched its mobile marketing agency Mobext in Singapore and Malaysia with Michael de Souza as general manager of the newly launched agency.

    Mobext Singapore and Malaysia will leverage the strengths of sister agency MPG and Havas Digital siblings Media Contacts and Ecselis and their portfolio of clients like Resorts World Sentosa, DBS Bank, NTUC Fairprice, Abbott, to expand their business in the market.

    Mobext is currently present in 19 markets globally and offers a truly end-to-end, mobile marketing agency service to clients. In Singapore the agency will offer messaging services like SMS and download; mobile internet services like WAP consulting and development, mobile display, mobile search. It will also provide proximity based services including LBS and mapping. Besides, it will offer integration through reporting and analytics by Havas Digital‘s campaign management platform.

    de Souza is a digital strategist with broad agency, ad network, media planning and content development experience. He joins the agency from global advertising network Buzzcity Pte Ltd, where he served as VP for Media. During his 12 year career, he has managed cross-channel campaigns and developed content for brands including Coca-Cola, Nestl?©, EAGames, Disney, Nike and MTN.

    MUMBAI: Former Havas Media CEO for India and South Asia Anita Nayyar is returning to her old agency, after a short stint of four
    months at Bennett, Coleman and Company (BCCL) as director customer strategy.

    Nayyar will take up her old position at Havas Media from 14 August. Her last day at BCCL is 9 August.

    Confirming her movement to Indiantelevision.com, Nayyar said, “I was missing the base of media agency where I have worked for 28 years. My journey with BCCL was very exciting and I learnt a lot here.”

    “I think when you are on the media side you don’t understand the concerns of the other side well. After being on this side of the table, I have understood how a publishing house or a media house, a conglomerate operates. In terms of expectations from an agency’s side, now it is well-grounded,” she added.

    Havas Media Asia Pacific CEO Vishnu Mohan said, “We are delighted that Anita has decided to return to the agency. While I met many potential candidates over the last months, when the choice did open up I had no doubt in my mind that she would be the right person to helm the India and South Asia operations.     Nayyar had joined Havas Media in 2007 as the CEO of MPG India. Later on, she was promoted to CEO of Havas Media for India and South Asia. Prior to joining Havas Media, she had also worked with Starcom and Mudra Communications.

  • Havas Media launches Havas Media Ortega in Phillipines

    MUMBAI: Global media network Havas Media has made further investments in its Philippines operations with the launch of Havas Media Ortega.

    The new company will be headed by Jos Ortega who will serve as chairman and CEO.

    Ortega who has also picked up stake in the venture, sources close to the development informed indiantelevision.com.

    Havas Media Ortega will be Philippines‘ first truly full-service media agency that is investing at scale across all of its component services. Ortega is the co-founder of advertising agency BBDO Guerrero Ortega who has served as CEO at JWT and is also the co-founder and current chairman of BrandLab.

    Havas Media Ortega has integrated Havas Media‘s existing gencies in the Philippines – MPG (global media communications network) and Media Contacts (part of Havas Digital‘s interactive arm), with Collab and Mobext.

    The post of chief collaborator will be handled by Tonypet Sarmiento who has worked with firms like Integration and Ace Saatchi and Saatchi in the past. Also on board is Hermie de Leon who was the CEO of Omnicom Media Group before joining Havas Media-MPG. Completing the team is Eduardo Mapa Jr. who, in addition to being a founding member of the Internet and Mobile Marketing Association of the Philippines, has led Media Contacts Philippines.

    Havas Media expands Ecselis in APAC

    MUMBAI: Havas Media has announced the expansion of its specialist Performance and quantitative marketing arm, Ecselis ,to Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Sydney.


    Ecselis will be headquartered in Singapore and will be led by Rajeev Bala who takes charge as MD for Asia Pacific. He will report to Havas Media Asia Pacific CEO Vishnu Mohan.


    The Kuala Lumpur and Sydney offices are likely to be fully functional by the end of second quarter.


    Mohan said, “The need for advanced quantitative and performance orientated skill sets is growing rapidly. Rajeev has done a great job of building Media Contacts in the region, and has the deep domain and consultative expertise to grow Ecselis, as we expand our digital footprint across the region.”


    Bala joined Media Contacts in 2008 to lead the Singapore operations and was later promoted to the role of regional director of Media Contacts for Southeast Asia.


    On his new role, Bala said, “Ecselis is already an established organisation with very niche skills. I am excited by the opportunities and see Ecselis evolving into a deeply specialised company. We have aggressive plans for growing this across APAC over the next four quarters.”


    Ecselis was launched in 2009. At present, it has a team of 55 performance experts based in the country with clients across SEA, India, Europe and Australia.


    The agency will complement Havas Media’s existing brands MPG, Media Contacts, Mobext and HS&E by providing specialised services including Conversion Rate Optimisation, Attribution Modelling, Quality Score Management in addition to data, search and analytics.

    MUMBAI: Havas Media’s flagship brand, MPG India, has launched its mobile marketing brand Mobext in Asia with India being chosen one of the first markets for the roll out.

    As part of the launch the agency has also made three senior appointments: Arnav Neel Ghosh joins as general manager for South Asia, while Ashutosh S Srivastava is appointed as the business director and Rahul Shinde as senior business executive. The team in India is also expected to expand in the next few months.

    Ghosh moves in from Digital at Iris Nation, where he was executive vice-president and has previously worked in senior roles at Publicis Modem and Active Media Technology, a UK based mobile marketing company. Ashutosh was most recently the associate director of mobile marketing at ACL Wireless and has had stints at Mobile2Win and ConnectTurf.

    Mobext, a network brand of Havas Media specialising in Mobile Marketing, is currently present in eight markets globally. The new brand is expected to strengthen the digital offerings of Havas Media, which currently has a digital media agency brand in Media Contacts.

    Within this year, the brand is slated to be launched in China, Indonesia and Philippines and the company will look at both greenfield as well as partnership entry strategies.

    Mobext will offer messaging services such as sms and download; mobile internet services like WAP consulting and development, mobile display, mobile search and proximity based services including LBS and mapping. It will also offer integration through reporting and analytics by Havas Digital’s campaign management platform.

    The network agency currently handles a host of blue chip clients in different parts of the world including Nike, Coca Cola, McDonalds, Fanta, Kia, Volvo, BMW, Peugeot, Citroen, BNP Paribas, Credit Suisse, BBC, Dell and Sears.

    Mobext Havas Media CEO Asia Pacific Vishnu Mohan said: “Asia presents an enormous potential in the mobile space with high levels of penetration, installed base and growth rates.     Further enhancing the importance of Indian market, Mohan clarified that with 790 million mobile users, there was no better market in Asia to launch this product.

    “Mobile offers advertisers an interesting media to reach their audience on a more engaged basis and the launch of Mobext will fulfil this need. We are looking launch the brand in China, Indonesia and Philippines within the year and will look at both greenfield as well as partnership entry strategies”, Mohan concluded.
