    Baseline Ventures to represent Indian sporting icon, Abhinav Bindra

    Mumbai: Baseline Ventures, a sports management company has announced the signing of Indian sporting icon and 2008 Olympic Gold Medallist, Abhinav Bindra. Baseline Ventures will be exclusively representing successful shooter Abhinav Bindra for all commercial engagements, including brand endorsements, sponsorships, licensing etc.

    Abhinav Bindra made history at the 2008 Beijing Olympics by becoming India’s first individual Gold medallist. His journey to this achievement is a testament to his relentless pursuit of excellence, which also made him the first Indian to win a World Championship Gold in Air Rifle Shooting. Born in Dehradun, Bindra has won over 150 individual medals in a career that spanned over two decades, concluding with a commendable fourth-place finish at the Rio Olympics in 2016. His illustrious career has earned him the Arjuna Award, the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award, and the Padma Bhushan, India’s third-highest civilian award. He has also been conferred with the Blue Cross, the highest honour by the International Shooting Sport Federation, and holds the honorary title of Lt. Col. in the Territorial Army.

    Beyond his career in sports, Bindra is passionately involved in numerous initiatives through the Abhinav Bindra Foundation Trust (ABFT). The foundation is dedicated to leveraging sports for social change, focusing on intervention, education, and social upliftment. ABFT’s STEAM scholarship program integrates Science, Engineering, Analytics, and Medicine into the training of grassroots athletes. The foundation’s efforts also include the Sport Science Interventions at ABTP Centers, the Athlete Mental Wellness Program, and the Physiotherapy and Sport Science Institute in Odisha. Additionally, the foundation’s ‘Sport4Her’ program empowers female athletes, and its Olympic Values Education Program, in collaboration with the International Olympic Committee and the Governments of Odisha and Assam, has positively impacted millions of school children.

    Mumbai: The Bengaluru Torpedoes Volleyball Academy in India was officially recognised as a Volleyball Centre of Excellence in the country as the FIVB and Bengaluru Torpedoes signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) last week.

    Situated within the esteemed Padukone Dravid Centre for Sports Excellence, the Bengaluru Torpedoes Volleyball Academy will serve as a hub for promoting volleyball, further amplifying its development and outreach endeavours.

    The MoU symbolises a shared dedication to cultivating talent, strengthening grassroots initiatives and enhancing the societal significance of volleyball regionally and globally. The partnership between the FIVB and Bengaluru Torpedoes will also facilitate a range of initiatives, including high-performance and grassroots activities, mass participation programmes, and knowledge exchange and collaborative projects geared towards enhancing athlete development. This will be achieved through quality sports science and medical services, alongside coaching and officiating.

    FIVB head of Technical and Development Steve Tutton expressed his excitement about the collaboration, stating: “We are thrilled to collaborate with Bengaluru Torpedoes Volleyball Academy in our mission to foster volleyball development. Together, we will leverage our expertise to implement innovative programmes and initiatives that will propel the sport to new heights.”

    Mumbai: Sports, events, entertainment, and licensing firm Baseline Ventures has signed Indian cricketer and T20 league Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Punjab Kings captain Mayank Agarwal to represent him in all commercial aspects.

    He has scored more than 2,000 runs in the IPL in 113 games. He has also amassed more than 4,000 runs in domestic T20s.

    “Having signed with Baseline Ventures, I am incredibly happy and looking forward to seeing how this will help me in my career. Today, every athlete needs the right representation, and having the right people around me to handle the commercial aspects would be hugely beneficial,” said Agarwal.

He proved his mettle at the highest level after amassing a mountain of runs on the domestic circuit, and his record in Test cricket speaks volumes of his prowess.     After a record-breaking domestic season in 2017-18, which included over 1,000 runs within a single month and other consistent performances for both Karnataka and India A across formats, he got his maiden call up to the Indian Team midway through the 2018-19 Border Gavaskar Series in Australia, where his gritty knock of 76 on Test Match debut in Melbourne was the second highest score by an Indian opener making his test debut overseas.

    BENGALURU: Braving torrential rain, 8,000 people came to the Bengaluru leg of the Fastrack Music Run on Saturday, 19 August 2017. The event creators Fresh Events Global, The Music Run™, managed to rope in a r of sponsors – these included Titan Company Limited’s funky brand Fastrack as the title sponsor. Other sponsors were ACT Fibernet, Harman, Nokia, United Colours of Benetton, Pringles, Sofit, Pepsi Black, Budweiser Experiences, Radio Indigo, Clarks Exotica, Vh1, INOX and Himalayan Water.

    The event promoters, Baseline Ventures, say that the Bengaluru event has been one of the best they’ve seen with the crowd really getting into The Music Run spirit. The event paid good dividend to the sponsors.

    MUMBAI: Bengali news channel Star Ananda will show football content to widen its audience base.

    The ABP-Star run channel has inked a deal with sports marketing company Total Sports Asia (TSA) to telecast Fifa 2010 World Cup qualifiers of Italy and Spain.

    With the Fifa World Cup commencing in less than 10 months, World Cup fever is steadily catching up and Star Ananda is hoping to capitalise on this to deliver world-class football programming in the football loving state of West Bengal.

    TSA is the exclusive rights holder throughout Asia for all Italy and Spain World Cup qualifiers and friendlies for the Fifa World Cup 2010.
