    ‘Happy New Year’ presents a new romantic number – ‘Manwa Lage’

    MUMBAI: After receiving an amazing response to ‘Indiawaale’, Farah Khan’s Happy New Year released its latest romantic song. Titled ‘Manwa Lage’ the song is a soulful number sung by Arijit Singh and Shreya Ghoshal.

     

    The video shows budding romance between Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone. The song is a mixture of romance, soulful lyrics, and an electrifying chemistry between the two. The best part of the video is the clever use of the element of fire. The song also features Sonu Sood, Abhishek Bachchan, Boman Irani and Vivaan Shah but prime focus is laid on SRK and Deepika.

     

    Excited about the latest release actor Shah Rukh Khan tweeted, “Lov sets u ablaze, it cuts u loose like wildfire & u burn everything that u touch! It burns & flies, & u run with it Joybell. Manwa Laage”

     

    Penned by Irshad Kamil and sung by Shreya Ghoshal, Arijit Singh, ‘Manwa Laage’ is a melodious song composed by musical duo Vishal-Shekhar. The film tells the tale of six losers – Charlie, Nandu, Jag, Tammy, Mohini and Rohan who are on a mission.

     

    Happy with the new songs, Vishal Dadlani tweeted, “I love how @TheFarahKhan brings her unique insight & humour to the picturisation of any song, even a love-ballad like #ManwaLaage from #HNY.”

     

    And thanking Dadlani, Shreya Ghoshal tweeted, “Heart’s happy! Thank u @VishalDadlani @ShekharRavjiani for giving me such an extraordinary composition to sing!”.

    Indian Ocean announces the brand new album ‘Tandanu’ on Pepsi MTV Indies

    MUMBAI: Iconic Fusion Rock Band from India, Indian Ocean is all set to launch their latest and coolest ever album, Tandanu on Pepsi MTV Indies, the world’s biggest indie stage. Pepsi MTV Indies, the world’s largest platform for independent sub cultures and has been built in collaboration with a collective of artists and supporters of the independent scene, will be the official launch partner for the eagerly awaited album created by indie rock legends Indian Ocean in association with some of the biggest names from the Indian music scene.

    The song – Gar Ho Sake – created in collaboration with renowned Hindustani classical singer ShubhaMudgal will be premiering on Pepsi MTV Indies on 26th April 2014 at 8PM through a unique half an hour episode which will showcase the journey of the band when theychose to make this song and the riveting story behind the song itself. The episode will also feature a performance of the song by Indian Ocean and ShubhaMudgal. The song will then be released for listeners to enjoy on www.pepsimtvindies.com and on iTunes.

    After releasing their last album ‘16/330 Khajoor Road’ in 2010, the legendary band is back with their inimitable style of rock music albeit with some big surprises. ‘Tandanu’ is a collaborative album where Indian Ocean has recorded songs with many heavyweights from the world of Indian music that include names such as ShubhaMudgal, Karsh Kale, Shankar Mahadevan, Kumaresh Rajagopalan, Pt. Vishva Mohan Bhatt, V Selva Ganesh and Vishal Dadlani. Each song in the album has a unique story behind it and has been hand-picked by the band for the philosophy and the poetry behind the song.

    Starting 26th April 2014 at 8 PM, each Saturday, one song from the album will be released in the form of a half an hour episode on Pepsi MTV Indies. Tandanu, the album will feature a mélange of songs depicting stories of peoples’ struggles across various regions in India and each artist collaborating for the album has been chosen by Indian Ocean for more than just their musical abilities. Their backgrounds, their own roots will be reflected through each of the songs. The album also includes one instrumental track.

    MUMBAI: It’s set to change the indie scene in India. The announcement of the launch of the ambitious indie channel – Pepsi MTV Indies from the Viacom 18 group was made amid much fanfare last month. However, the launch date was kept a secret. Now, MTV India EVP & Business Head Aditya Swamy reveals that the channel may go on air pretty soon.

     

    On the sidelines of the launch of MTV Films on Saturday, Swamy revealed: “The test run for Pepsi MTV Indies started on Monday, 3 March and will continue for the next two weeks.”

     

    Continuing further, he said that in all probability the channel should reach the audiences by the weekend starting 15 March.

     

    The feed for the channel is being beamed off from the satellite Measat 3. Swamy informs that all the operators are on board for the distribution of the channel. However, he didn’t reveal the pricing of the channel.

     

    Talking about the content, Swamy stated that there are plans to use Pepsi MTV Indies as platform to discover independent artists, find their unique sounds, their independent music and their expose it to the mainstream audience of MTV. “For example, you will find Vishal Dadlani’s Pentagram on Pepsi MTV Indies, but the music of Vishal-Shekhar will be on MTV. Similarly, you will find The Raghu Dixit Project on Pepsi MTV Indies, but you’ll hear the compositions of Raghu Dixit for Bewakoofiyaan on MTV,” he said.

    MUMBAI: In another innovative first, Yash Raj Films’ will be releasing a tub-thumping new version of their iconic Dhoom Machaale anthem song by actor, singer, dancer, theatre producer – Saba Azad. The song is backed by a cool new music video that features a video montage from all the three Dhoom series. So in a first, viewers will get to see Aamir, Katrina, Hrithik, Aishwarya, John, Bipasha, Abhishek and Uday together in one video.

     

    Saba says, “I’m super excited to take a crack at such a huge hit that amazing singers like Sunidhi and Vishal Dadlani have sung before, it’s a privilege to feature in the video alongside Bollywood’s biggest names.”

    The funky new version of the song has been composed by Raghav Sachar, who plays over 32 different musical instruments. The mash-up is a great mix of R&B, whistle tones, rap and a fresh new interpretation of the chartbuster. The video has been directed by Adil Shaikh, known for his choreography of some of the biggest hits right from Bachna Ae Haseeno to Go Goa Gone.

     

    Yash Raj Films had earlier also promoted the film’s anthem soon after the release of the first film in the franchise with famous Thai singer, Tata Young back in 2004. The song Dhoom Dhoom was the singer’s most successful single ever in India. It was a major hit, reaching number one for several weeks to months in many Asian countries music charts. It was number one in various countries such as India, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and other Southeast Asian countries starting from August 2004 to as far as late as 2005.

     

    The Dhoom Anthem premieres exclusively on YRF’s YouTube channel on Tuesday, 24 December ensuring that everyone has Dhoom at Christmas!

    MUMBAI: Radio Mirchi gears up for the festive season with a special Christmas and New Year line up.

    Hello Mumbai which airs every morning between 9 and 10 am, will have RJ Harsh conduct a fun Q&A session allowing listeners to win gifts. To participate in the show which will continue till 31 December, listeners will have to dial 40983983 or sms their answers to 8888.

    RJ Tarun will host a special Christmas Carol game show on the evening band Bumper to Bumper. The game would revolve around translating popular Christmas carols in Hindi and singing it on air. What’s more, Santa Claus will host the show with Tarun on 25 December. In addition to this, artists such as Shankar Mahadevan, Vishal Dadlani, Daler Mehndi, the famous Petra Church Choir and a singing parrot of Singapore will sing Carols.

    As part of an on ground evevnt, on 23 December Santa Claus with his sack of goodies along with RJ’s from Radio Mirchi will visit The Shelter at Byculla, an orphanage run by Bombay Diocesese to celebrate Christmas with the children. They will distribute gifts; sing Christmas carols and Mirchi songs with the children. Listeners too will also be invited to be part of this party. While on the day of Christmas, Santa will visit popular spots in Mumbai city on the Mirchi canter and all those who locate him and wish him Mirch Meri Christmas will get a special gift.
    From December 26 to 30 December, Radio Mirchi will present the Mirchi Top 100 songs of the year from 7 to 9 pm and will be hosted by RJ Tarun and an anonymous ‘Boss’. On 30 and 31 December, there will be the wrap up of biggest events of the year with sound bytes of each event called 6-7 Mirchi ke Saath. While the big party will unfold on 31 December with non-stop dance tracks from 9 pm flowing into 9 am on 1 January 2007, informs an official release.

    For all those listeners who are keen to peep into the future, Radio Mirchi will bring the world famous Marjorie Orr on Indian radio for the first time. She will present Astro predictions for all sun signs from 26 December to 30 December. On 31 December Sanjay Jumani will also present his predictions for the year 2007 during a two hour special.
