According to Hollywood Reporter the Studio is planning a worldwide day-and-date opening for the movie and has decided that opening a week earlier will allow it to book more international play dates. The movie will hit theaters in April 2015, a week earlier than previously planned.

The film, which will be helmed by James Wan, was earlier slated for a summer 2014 release which had been postponed due actor Paul Walker’s tragic car accident in November 2013.

The movie will see the 40-year-old late actor, Vin Diesel, and Dwayne Johnson, along with Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Chris ‘Ludacris’ Bridges, Elsa Pataky and Lucas Black, and will also star Jason Statham, Djimon Hounsou, Tony Jaa, Ronda Rousey and Kurt Russell.

  • Production on Fast & Furious 7 to resume 1 April

Production on Fast & Furious 7 to resume 1 April

MUMBAI: Since the death of famous actor Paul Walker on 30 November, the production on the upcoming sequel to the hit Fast & Furious franchise had been put on an indefinite hiatus. But, according to The Hollywood Reporter (THR), the shooting for Fast & Furious 7 will resume come April.

Walker, 40, who played a former FBI agent-turned-criminal Brian O’Conner in the action film, died with his friend, Roger Rodas, in a fatal car crash last year. The script was reworked following Walker’s sudden passing since the movie was still halfway done when the O’Conner depicter died. In the previous six films, Walker played the on-screen sidekick to Vin Diesel’s character of Dominic Toretto.

THR has reported that cameras would start rolling on or around 1 April in Atlanta and continue for six to eight weeks until filming is finished. In January, THR had reported that the writing staff of the film had opted to retire Walker’s character, instead of having it killed off.

According to earlier reports, the release date of the seventh instalment in the blockbuster franchise was pushed to 10 April, 2015.

  • Paul Walker’s character to retire in ‘Fast and Furious’ next film

Paul Walker’s character to retire in ‘Fast and Furious’ next film

MUMBAI: It was a tragic incident for the movie lover when in November last year, actor Paul Walker died in an accident. The actor, who had become synonymous with the Fast and Furiouswas working on the seventh installment of the movie when he lost his life in the accident, also leaving Universal Studios in a quandary about the future of the film.

However, now the Studio has decided the fate of the movie. In a new move, it has decided to “retire” the character of Brian O’Conner in the popular action film franchise, Fast and the Furious. According to a report in the The Hollywood Reporter (THR), the Studio would “tweak the script and add scenes so footage of the late actor’s Brian O’Conner character can still be used — but the franchise can continue.” And the Studio plans to use all earlier footage shot with the actor before his untimely death.

The writer, director and producer who came up with the plan to tweak the existing script allowing Walker’s character to be written out of the story are James Wan, Chris Morgan and Jeffrey Kirschenbaum, respectively.

Since the release date of the next installment in the popular franchise, Fast & the Furious 7, has been pushed to April 2015, this delay provides enough time for additional scenes to be written and shot.

This news comes soon after the coroner’s report that revealed the car in which Walker was a passenger when he died was going over 100 miles per hour. According to the report published in THR, the driver Roger Rodas lost control for “unknown reasons.”

  • Release of ‘Fast and Furious 7’ postponed until April, 2015

Release of ‘Fast and Furious 7’ postponed until April, 2015

MUMBAI: Vin Diesel, the star of the Fast & the Furious film series has announced a final release date for the last installment of the famous movie franchise.

The untimely death of Paul Walker not only shocked fans all over the world, but it halted the final stretch in making the 7th installment of Fast and the Furious. As a tribute to Walker’s life, the makers decided to finish the film, and his co-star Vin Diesel has announced on his Facebook page that the movie will be released in April in 2015.

“The last scene we filmed together…There was a unique sense of completion, of pride we shared… in the film we were now completing… the magic captured… and, in just how far we’ve come… Fast and Furious 7 will be released…April 10th 2015!” wrote Diesel with a photo showing him alongside Walker.

Diesel concluded the post saying “P.s. He’d want you to know first.”

Universal Pictures has confirmed the April 10 release date with E! News, and mentioned that 60 per cent of the film has been already shot before Walker’s death.

The famous actor died in a fatal car accident on November 30 in East Los Angeles. Walker was on the passenger seat of a Porsche Carrera GT driven by friend, Roger Rodas, who also died in the scene. According to investigators leading the case, there was no mechanical issue involved in the accident, and that it was a result of solely too much speed.

Immediately after Walker’s death, Universal released a statement saying that they will stop all movements in relation to the filming of Fast & Furious 7, to pay respect to the friends and relatives of the late actor, as well as to give support to the crew and filmmakers.

However, the studio did say that “all options available to move forward with the franchise,” according to a report by E! Online. There are no final statements or press releases regarding on how the film will unravel its plot without its main character, Brian O’Connor, played by the late Paul Walker.

A statement on the actor’s official Facebook page said that Walker was a passenger in the car, and had been at a charity event for his organisation, Reach Out Worldwide earlier in the day.

Similarly, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson tweeted: “All my strength, love & faith to the Walker family during this heart-breaking time. We find our strength…in his light. Love you brother.”

MUMBAI: Nathalie Emmanuel has been cast in Fast & Furious 7, out from Universal next July. The studio is keeping character descriptions under wraps, but a source close to the James Wan-directed project has revealed Emmanuel will be part of the pedal to the metal team led by Dom Toretto, reprised by Vin Diesel.
