    BVG Films to release 2 films this year

    MUMBAI: BVG Films, a division of ASA Productions & Entertainment, will be releasing its upcoming films Hate Story and 1920 –Evil Returns this year.

    Hate Story, directed by Vivek Agnihotri and starring Nikhi Dwivedi, Paoli Dam and Gulshan Deviah, will release on 12 April while 1920 –Evil Returns, a sequel to the 2008 film, will release on 22 June.

    Starring Aftab Shivdasani, Tia Bajpai and Vidya Malwade, the film is directed by Bhushan Patel.

    Vikram Bhatt has written the script for both the films.

    MUMBAI: The Vikram Bhatt helmed Dangerous Ishq-3D, which sees the return to the silver screen of Karisma Kapoor, is being readied to release on 11 May.

    Dangerous Ishq-3D has been jointly produced by Reliance Entertainment, Dar Motion Pictures and BVG Films.

    Based on past life regression, the film stars Jimmy Shergill, Rajnish Duggal, Divya Dutta, Ravi Kissen and Ruslan Mumtaz.

    The shooting of Bhatt-directed 1920 – Evil Returns is fast reaching its climax.

    Bhatt, who is going on the floors with Raaz 3 next week, is set to launch Haunted 2 as well.

    Vikram Bhatt’s Lanka to release on 9 December

    MUMBAI: Vikram Bhatt‘s much awaited action drama Lanka is slated for a worldwide release on 9 December.

    Lanka is an emotional journey of a man torn between the loyalty for his mentor and the empathy he feels for a girl; a journey of a modern-day ‘Asur‘ (Devil) who chose to be a man; a journey of a man who would be termed a traitor by some and righteous by others.

    Touted as modern day folklore, Lanka is about love, loyalty, betrayal and justice.

    The movie stars Manoj Bajpai as Raavan, Arjan Bajpai as Vibhishan along with Tia Bajpai.

    The film is produced by ASA Production and directed by Maqbool Khan.

    Vishesh Films to release Raaz 3 on 6 July

    MUMBAI: After Raaz and Raaz 2, Vikram Bhatt returns to Vishesh Films to take up the direction of their next film Raaz 3. He had last helmed Footpath in 2003 for the production banner.

    So enthused is Bhatt about the project that he has decided to release Raaz 3 on 6 July next year. Accordingly, the Bhatts are making all kinds of preparations to launch the film that is scheduled to roll on 15 January next year.

    Bhatt has even gone ahead and announced the cast of his film. It will star Emraan Hashmi, Jacqueline Fernandez and Bipasha Basu, who will make a comeback in the Bhatt camp after reportedly turning down a lead role in Murder 2.

    Having started his career in 1992 with the production house‘s Jaanam, he went on to do four more films with it until after 2003 when he had a fall out with Mahesh and Mukesh Bhatt.

    SET senior VP and programming head Anupama Mandloi quits

    MUMBAI: Sony Entertainment India (SET) India senior VP and programming head Anupama Mandloi has resigned.

    After a nine-and-a-half-year stint at the flagship channel SET, Mandloi officially says goodbye to the organisation tomorrow.

    For the near term, recently appointed chief creative director Sandiip Sikcand (former Balaji creative head ) will be overseeing Mandloi’s responsibilities. However, according to sources, the organisation has not taken any final call on whether to have a replacement for her position.

    In her time at Sony, Mandloi has held various positions — from on-air programming director, on-air programming head, creative director, to senior VP and programming head. She was also instrumental in setting up Sony’s flanking channel SAB TV, which was bought out last year.

    Prior to Sony, Mandloi worked with Plus Channel. She has also worked on projects with filmmaker Vikram Bhatt.
