In this role, he will identify high-potential business opportunities, craft strategic plans, and lead execution to build scalable, profitable ventures.

    Purohit brings a wealth of experience, having previously led Meta India’s small business group, supporting over 10 million enterprises. He has also served as CEO of Tata CLiq Fashion and held key management positions at Amazon Fashion, Reliance Brands, and Aditya Birla Fashion & Retail.

    An alumnus of IIT BHU with a PGDBM from IIM Bangalore, Purohit’s expertise in digital commerce and retail makes him a formidable force in business innovation.

    Tata CLiQ Luxury & American Express tie up to dominate luxury market

    MUMBAI: Tata CLiQ Luxury and American Express have inked an exclusive partnership aimed at premium and aspiring clientele of luxury experiences. This first of its kind strategic partnership between a global payments company and Tata CLiQ will capitalise on the demand for trusted and secure shopping experiences, especially with contactless shopping gaining prevalence and preference over the past year.

    Throughout the year, both brands will introduce initiatives to encourage luxury consumption across India, including access through the pan India distribution reach of Tata CLiQ Luxury. The partnership will offer unique experiences and thoughtfully curated services for American Express’ premium customers which include bespoke shopping experiences, access to stylish events, thought leadership gatherings, white glove delivery services, a dedicated concierge desk and unique privileges and including membership of Tata CLiQ Luxury’s exclusive by-invite-only privilege program – the Select Club.

    Special offers will be introduced to increase trials, services to promote online adoption of high-ticket purchases and conversations with taste makers around luxury trends. Additionally, centurion and platinum card holders will receive access to shopping on Tata CLiQ Luxury in a manner second to none. For example, the company said, Tata CLiQ Luxury will create a behind the scenes access to a special American Express desk for preferred / privileged customers.

    Paytm hires ITC’s Varun Khullar as head of partnerships – payments bank

    MUMBAI: Paytm has hired former ITC executive Varun Khullar for its payments bank business. 

     

    Khullar will lead the partnerships division and will be responsible for building relationships with potential partners such as insurance companies, banks and non-banking financial institutions.

     

    Prior to joining Paytm, Khullar, an alumnus of IIT Madras and Indian School of Business, Hyderabad, worked with companies like Boston Scientific Corporation, McKinsey & Co and ITC. 

     

    Paytm vice president Amit Sinha said, “We are looking at building a robust leadership team for our Payments Bank business over the next three – four months. Varun’s professional career, his rich experience and demonstrated dynamism in an evolving business eco-system is the perfect combination for us at this juncture. We’re pleased to have him on board to head the partnerships division of our upcoming business.”

     

    Khullar added, “Paytm’s proposed Payments Bankis in sync with the national vision of a cashless economy with greater financial inclusion for all.     Khullar’s appointment comes three weeks after Paytm brought Amazon India’s Vikas Purohit on board in a similar leadership position for its Payments Bank. The company aims to recruit 3,000 people for the business and has also enlisted the services of management consulting majors, Ernst & Young and McKinsey& Co to help in the rollout.
