    Indobevs names Vikas Kumar co-founder to lead growth

    MUMBAI: Indobevs, one of India’s fastest-growing alco-bev companies, has elevated Vikas Kumar to co-founder, signalling a bold step in its expansion drive. In his new role, Kumar will steer operational strategy, boost manufacturing muscle, and tighten supply chains to support Indobevs’ ambitious growth plans.

    Kumar, who joined Indobevs seven years ago, has been the architect of the company’s operational backbone. He built robust manufacturing systems, streamlined supply chains, and implemented scalable processes that have helped the company grow nearly 40 per cent year-on-year.

    With more than 20 years of experience across Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages, United Biscuits and SC Johnson, Kumar brings expertise in supply chain management, plant engineering, project execution and process optimisation.

    “Indobevs has always stood out for bold ideas and quality focus,” Kumar said. “As co-founder, I aim to make our operations resilient, agile and future-ready, ensuring we scale responsibly while delivering exceptional value to customers.”

    Indobevs is expanding both domestically and internationally, with greenfield facilities under construction in Uttar Pradesh and Karnataka. New launches include the liqueur Bonga Bonga and multiple whisky variants, all under Kumar’s operational oversight.

    Indian audio streaming market sees new entrant as Velvet brings in Pankaj Tripathi

    MUMBAI; The Indian audio streaming sector continues to expand with Velvet, a new platform specialising in cinematic audio stories, announcing actor Pankaj Tripathi has joined as co-founder. Tripathi recently released a bunch of his stories written and narrated by him on Velvet. 

    The bootstrapped venture, which launched quietly in late 2024, was founded by actor and dialogue coach Vikas Kumar, alongside Akshat Saxena, Varad Bhatnagar and Sharib Khan. It joins a growing market that includes successful platforms such as Pocket FM, Pratilipi FM and Kuku FM.

    “From folk tales to epics, our stories have always had the power to inspire, educate, and entertain,” said Mr Tripathi. “We aim to elevate this tradition into a cinematic experience for the ears, whilst remaining deeply rooted in our cultural ethos.”

    The platform, which focuses on preserving and promoting traditional storytelling, has attracted over 10,000 direct listeners and reaches more than one million users through partnerships with Josh App in India and Future Today Group in the US.

    The announcement follows the recent launch of Eshtory by former radio executive Harrish Bhatia, indicating growing interest in India’s audio streaming market.

    Pee Safe, SBI & Sky Social partner for menstrual hygiene initiative in MP & Chhattisgarh

    Mumbai: In a unified effort to address menstrual health challenges and uplift young girls, SBI Foundation in collaboration with Sky Social and Pee Safe, a prominent proponent of menstrual hygiene, has initiated an endeavor across 35 districts in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. This initiative aims to promote menstrual health and hygiene practices among girls in the region.

    The plan was guided by the expertise of Anil Kumar Shriwastava and Deepak Kumar Jha from the State Bank of India and championed by a committed team under the leadership of Srishti Pragat, Founder of Sky Social, and including Arunima Tiwari, Sudha Tiwari, Akshay Shukla, Raju Bele, and Anil Rangdale, alongside passionate youth volunteers, has received substantial backing from influential figures such as Binay Kumar Sahoo, Anupam Kumar, and Vikas Mishra, with invaluable contributions from Nupur Aggarwal and Sanat Sahu from Pee Safe, this collaboration is poised for impactful results.

    Covering 25 districts in Madhya Pradesh and 10 in Chhattisgarh, the project has reached over 17,500 school girls, providing practical support and empowering them with knowledge about safe and sustainable menstrual practices. Through workshops, sensitization sessions, and the distribution of reusable pads, the initiative aims to reduce school dropouts due to menstruation-related issues and create a supportive environment for discussing menstrual health.

    Vikas Bagaria from Pee Safe expressed his commitment to the cause, stating, “We are honored to collaborate with SBI Foundation and Sky Social as a Resource Partner, providing reusable pads and comprehensive training. This initiative reflects our joint commitment to menstrual hygiene, women’s empowerment, and sustainable solutions.”

    SBI chief manager PR and CSB Vikas Kumar said, “SBI is proud to collaborate with Sky Social and Pee Safe on this impactful initiative to address menstrual health and hygiene. By reaching out to more than 17500 girls across 35 districts, we’re demonstrating our commitment to empowering communities and fostering sustainable development. We’ve reached out to many remote locations across Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh and have travelled 6,500 kms across both the states. More than 800 teachers and school wardens were also reached out through this project and are now more aware of menstrual health and hygiene issues.

    The girls have been provided with a sanitary pad kit consisting of three reusable pads that’ll last up to two years. Through a project like this, we’re able to make a tangible difference in the lives of girls, ensuring access to essential resources and promoting dignity for all.

    By distributing reusable sanitary pads sourced from Pee Safe, we are not merely offering a temporary fix, but actively promoting long-term solutions that empower girls to manage their menstrual health. This project exemplifies our belief in the transformative power of collaboration and collective action.

    The initiative, a part of SBI Foundation’s CSR activities, emphasizes the collective effort to promote menstrual hygiene, break taboos, and ensure access to safe period products, ultimately contributing to the holistic well-being of women in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.

    Sky Social founder Srishti Pragat said, “Our dedication to promoting menstrual health and hygiene transcends mere advocacy—it’s a mission deeply rooted in our belief in the fundamental rights and dignity of every individual. The project has been implemented in over 120 schools and hostel facilities, equipping not only girls but school teachers and wardens on menstrual health and hygiene management. By addressing the taboo surrounding menstruation head-on, we aimed to dismantle stigma and foster open conversations that empower girls to manage their menstrual health with confidence and pride. The distribution of reusable sanitary pads has empowered many girls and has given them the confidence to manage their menstruation in a hygienic manner.”

    Through collaborative efforts SBI, Pee Safe, Sky Social are paving the way for a future where menstrual health is prioritized, stigma is eradicated, and every individual has the opportunity to thrive with dignity and respect.

Disney+ Hotstar has dropped the trailer of the third season of the Emmy-nominated and fan-favorite web series – Aarya which takes the gritty world of Aarya Sareen up a notch with high-octane action and drama. Cobbed in a world of family dynamics, a dangerous business, vengeance from the past and newer enemies, will Aarya survive?  

    Created and co-directed by the ace filmmaker Ram Madhvani and co-produced by Amita Madhavni, Ram Madhvani, Ram Madhvani Films and Endemol Shine India, Aarya Season 3 is set to stream exclusively on Disney+ Hotstar from 3rd November onwards.     MUMBAI: A dominating performance by Haryana Hammers saw them register their first victory against defending champions Mumbai Maharathi on the opening day of the Pro Wrestling League Season 2 at the K D Jadhav Indoor Stadium here today. Present at the occasion were Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore and WFI president Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh.

    Mumbai captain Erica Wiebe won the toss and blocked the 70kg Men’s category while Haryana chose to block the 48kg Women’s category. The first bout was fought between Rajneesh (Haryana Hammers) and Vikas Kumar (Mumbai Maharathi) in the 65 kg Men’s category. Rajneesh executed some skillful moves as he combined attack with defence cleverly to prevail over Vikas 7-2.

    The second bout for the 75 kg Women’s category was won by Mumbai, as they drew level with Haryana. Canadian Erica Wiebe, who won Gold in the 2016 Rio Olympics, led from the front as Haryana’s Kiran proved to be the weaker opponent. Erica won the bout by technical superiority as Kiran failed to score a single point compared to the Canadian’s 16.

    Haryana came back strongly in the third bout, as Russian Abdusalam Gadisov employed single leg attack and ankle hold takedowns to effectively score against his opponent, Ukraine’s Pavlo Oliinyk. Haryana secured a 2-1 lead by virtue of this victory.

    The fourth bout was contested in the 53 kg Women’s category as grapplers Sofia Mattsson from Sweden and India’s Lalita Sehrawat played an aggressive game. Although Lalita kept searching for points, Sofia who had earned a Bronze in the 2016 Olympics, prevailed over her and eventually won by Pin Fall.

    Even as Mumbai conceded a 1-3 lead in the tie, they tried to stage a comeback as Azerbaijan-born Jabrayil Hasanov outclassed his opponent Sumit Sehrawat, clinching the bout in Mumbai’s favour by virtue of technical superiority.

    Haryana Hammers took full advantage of the crucial sixth bout as Marwa Amri defeated Mumbai Maharathi’s Sarita 5-0. The Tunisian grappler showed full supremacy on the mat, as her technical acumen proved to be too good for Sarita. The 2016 Rio Olympics Bronze medalist clinched the tie with this victory, as Haryana took an unassailable 4-2 lead.

    The final bout of the tie saw some explosive action with Mumbai’s Rahul Aware completely dominating over his opponent Sandeep Tomar from Haryana. Although Sandeep had an early 3-point advantage, Rahul came from behind to display a series of well-executed takedowns to win the bout 14-5. Rahul’s brilliant effort went in vain, as Haryana won the game by a 4-3 margin.

    Speaking after the match, a delighted Haryana Hammers Co-Owner Golden Behl said: ” I believe Rahul Aware and Sandeep Tomar was the most exciting match of the days but of course we were looking forward to Sandeep’s win. But in the end, it’s a game and things change within fraction of seconds. We came with a target of 5-2 win but we are surely not disappointed with a 4-3 victory on the first day of PWL.”

    Haryana Hammers player Abdusalam Gadisov said: “I believe our team is a great mix of some great Indian and international wrestlers and the performance on the first day has been great so far. Look forward to some more exciting matches in the coming days.
