Homi Adajania says Vijay Varma is a top dog, on the IMDb original series ‘Burning Questions’

Mumbai: Sara Ali Khan, Karisma Kapoor, Tisca Chopra, Vijay Varma, Sanjay Kapoor, Suhail Nayyar, and Homi Adajania recently appeared on the IMDb original series ‘Burning Questions’ to talk about their film Murder Mubarak. The movie is an official adaptation of the murder mystery novel, ‘Club You To Death’ by Anuja Chauhan. Together, the cast shared insights on their collaboration and provided interesting anecdotes about the film.

When asked what she would steal from the cast of Murder Mubarak if she were a kleptomaniac in real life just like her character in the film, Sara Ali Khan replied, “I think I would take Tisca (Chopra) ma’am’s bilingual eloquence. Yeah, it’s amazing. I think Lolo’s (Karisma Kapoor) infectious energy while singing. Sanjay (Kapoor) sir’s selflessness. I admire Vijay’s (Varma) versatility. I’d covet Homi (Adajania) sir’s patience, and Suhail’s (Nayyar) undiscovered talent. From Dimple (Kapadia) aunty, I would steal her timeless beauty and her hair. And from Pankaj (Tripathi) sir, I would take everything he embodies.”

When asked which cast member’s real-life personality is closest to their character, and why, Vijay Varma responded, “I think it’s me. I mean, this character is an outsider on the inside, so I feel a connection with him.” Homi Adajania added, “Yes, I agree. Akash Dogra is a bit of an underdog. Not that Vijay Varma is an underdog anymore. He once was, and he’s still trying to hold onto that part of his identity. But now he’s become a star, so he’s the top dog.”

Regarding Karisma Kapoor’s character in Murder Mubarak, Homi Adajania remarked, “Lolo is portraying a B-grade slasher flick, cult heroine in the film, which is quite different from her usual roles.” Kapoor herself added, “Yes, I think she was very different, eccentric, quirky, and a bit crazily weird. So yeah, she was very different from me.”

Zee Cinema, with its world television premiere of The Master, will cater to a large segment of audiences who tune into southern movies dubbed in Hindi.

The Master revolves around the story of two people, JD, a college professor, and Bhavani, a criminal. Bhavani exploits youngsters at a juvenile detention centre. What follows is a thrilling battle to protect the juveniles and unmask Bhavani.

Vijay plays the role of JD in The Master, while acclaimed actor Vijay Sethupathi can be seen enacting the role of the deadly Bhavani. The supporting star cast includes Malavika Mohanan, Arjun Das, Shanthanu Bhagyaraj, and Andrea Jeremiah.

When your work receives so much love and appreciation from the audience you automatically get inspired to make more movies to entertain them.”

“This was my first film with Vijay sir and it was really exciting for me to share the screen with him. Working with a sensation and an icon made this experience even more exciting for me. The channel says that the stage, LED, lighting, choreography, costumes as well as AVs and scripts for the show were scaled up from the previous year. Indeed, several dance performances saw fire being shot from the stage for enhanced viewing. Dance performances saw dancers drop from above the stage for impact. The event only got better with the Kollywood stars arriving in the stadium, which saw an increase in the noise decibels. These included Vijay, AR Rahman, Kamal, Surya, Kushboo, Hansika, Nayantara, Ajith, Hassan and Karthik. • Annual award instated by TSR in memory of his friend Yash Chopra

Annual award instated by TSR in memory of his friend Yash Chopra

New Delhi: An annual National Yash Chopra Memorial Award is to be given every year to an outstanding film personality.

The award comprising Rs one million has been instituted by Dr T Subbarami Reddy, entrepreneur and Member of Parliament who told indiantelevision.com that he had been very close to Chopra, who had passed away recently after an attack of dengue fever at the age of eighty.

Reddy said he had come to know Chopra in the early eighties and had also collaborated as Co-Producer in some films like ‘Vijay‘, ‘Chandni‘ and ‘Lamhe‘. ‘We were partners for only ten years, but had been friends for 31 years‘, he added.

He said Chopra succeeded because he paid great attention to the story, script and dialogues. Contrary to common perception, stars came to Chopra to work with him and that is why he had popular stars in his films.

He also sought to dispel another perception by saying that Chopra had great respect for his elder brother B R Chopra who had given him his first break as a director in ‘Dhool ka Phool‘.

Reddy said he was in shock on receiving the news of Chopra‘s demise, as he had spoken merely ten days prior to the death to invite him for the opening of his (Reddy‘s) new multiplex in Andhra Pradesh.

He asked Chopra about the announcement about retirement from films. He said Chopra had told him in the short telephonic conversation that he had other plans which he would disclose whenever he meets Reddy.

Reddy said ‘Yash Chopra‘s films will always be viewed and remind us of his creativity.‘
