    MUMBAI: Rangbaaz writer Siddharth Mishra will be a part of the exclusive lineup of celebrated writers at the Indiantelevision.com’s Vidnet Masterclasses, being hosted at The Westin, Mumbai, on 4 October. The talented writer will be discussing with the audience how to write the perfect narrative for a successful web series.

    An engineer-turned-advertising professional-turned-radio jockey-turned-writer, Siddharth Mishra has dabbled in almost all forms of storytelling in different fields and in different formats. While continuing with his popular radio show on Big FM, he developed a concept which turned into one of the flagship and most talked about shows of Zee 5, Rangbaaz.

    Immediately after that, he wrote 377 – Ab Normal, a film on the struggle of 4 persons who created history by compelling the judiciary to do away with the draconian law against the LGBTQ community.

    Now, a full-fledged writer, he is writing three web series for different OTT platforms, including the second season of Rangbaaz and a period drama based on the early years of Hindi films and the studio system. He is also working on a film, a political thriller, set against the backdrop of Naxalism in the eastern part of the country.

She will be highlighting the important requisites that a writer should keep in mind while writing for web in the session.

    Iyer who has written for all the three media—TV, digital, and films—has been associated with some impressive projects including Hindi films Raazi, Guzaarish, Lootera, Black, and TV shows like 24, Meri Awaaaz Hi Pehchaan Hai.

    Her understanding of complexity, conflict and human relationships and drama comes to life once again with Kaafir, a web-series starring Dia Mirza and Mohit Raina. She is writing season 2 of Breathe series on Amazon, Nikhil Advani’s Mughals on Hotstar and Onir’s Kashmir for Netflix.

    MUMBAI: Director Danish Aslam will join the revered list of speakers at the upcoming Indiantelevision.com’s Vidnet Masterclasses, being hosted at The Westin, Mumbai, on 4 October. Aslam, who has worked in Bollywood and for web both, will be distinguishing between the two forms of media for the audience.

    Aslam had started his career as an assistant director on feature films & TV commercials, eventually ending up at with Yash Raj Films, where he was the First AD on movies like Salaam Namaste, Fanaa & Ta Ra Rum Pum. His first directorial venture was Break Ke Baad, starring Imran Khan & Deepika Padukone.

    He has directed web series like season 2 of It’s Not That Simple, season 1 of Timeout, and Flesh. Apart from that, he has also directed TV shows like Siyaasat (Epic) & Kabhi Aise Geet Gaya Karo (Disney).

    MUMBAI: The man behind the editing of web series like Kota Factory and Humorously Yours, Gourav Gopal Jha will be interacting with aspiring video editors at the Indiantelevision.com’s Vidnet Masterclasses, being hosted at The Westin, Mumbai, on 4 October.

    Gupta, who started his journey with TVF a few years back, was the assistant director for India’s first web series Permanent Roommates. He is also one of the youngest Directors to get a theatrical release for his award-winning short film Ayan in PVR Directors Rare category, at the age of 23.

    Till date Gupta has directed three web series which include Bachelors Season 1 and 2 and most recently Gullak, a successful family drama for TVF.  He has also directed more than 20 videos ranging from PSA’s, Sketch Comedy, Music Videos, etc. for brands like Head and Shoulders, Hero Honda, Mi Phone, MAMI Film Festival, ROPOSO, Gillette, Loud shout, Kailash Satyarthi Organisation, PharmEasy, etc. The total number of views on his web shows and videos are easily more than 100 million.

    He will be discussing with the attendees the craft of creating a compelling narrative and direction techniques to ace in the competitive digital video ecosystem, drawing instances from his personal experiences that he has gathered while working across mediums like films and digital.

    Mehta has been a successful and revered creator since the initial days of his career. His first film
    Amal (2007) became a recipient of over 30 international awards, was nominated for 6 Genie Awards, including Best Picture, Director, and Adapted Screenplay, and was named one of the top ten Canadian films of the decade by Playback Magazine.

    He then wrote and directed several films and programs including I’ll Follow You Down, Siddharth, India in a Day, and Delhi Crime that revolved around the Delhi Police’s investigation of the infamous gang-rape of a young medical student on a bus in 2012.
