    MIP London announces David Beckham and Bela Bajaria as headliners

    MUMBAI: MIP London, the  international content and networking market (23-27 February 2025) from RX Global, is putting all its energy behind  making its  inaugural edition an even greater success. 

    It has announced that Netflix  chief content officer Bela Bajaria and football club owner, entrepreneur, co-founder of content studio, Studio 99 and global brand ambassador David Beckham will be on stage  at the IET Savoy Place in a special in conversation fireside chat. 

    “We promised the TV industry to deliver big moments and future-facing conversations at Mip London next February,” said director of MIP London and MIPCOM Cannes Lucy Smith .“Bela and David are hugely impactful figures culturally and globally each with great influence and unique perspectives on creating content and connecting with audiences and both with significant international platforms. It’s a privilege to welcome them both to the MIP stage in London.” 

    Collaborators on the Emmy award-winning documentary series Beckham, and with Studio 99 now in production on the highly anticipated forthcoming series following the story behind Victoria Beckham’s fashion business, the pair will share the main MIP London stage, and respective insights, on Tuesday 25 February. 

    Hosted at the Savoy Hotel and the IET London, MIP London is a new multi-genre international marketplace with an embedded future-facing conference that aims to deliver more business and opportunities during a key content week in the global TV industry calendar.

    Sterling wins Creative Media Award for #WhatIReallyReallyWant

    MUMBAI: Sterling Media, an international business and communications consultancy head-quartered in London, was presented the prestigious Creative Media Award at the Asian Media Awards 2016 for the #WhatIReallyReallyWant campaign, which they launched with partners Project Everyone. The award is the second consecutive accolade awarded to Sterling Media by Asian Media Awards. Sterling CEO & MD Natasha Mudhar was presented the Media Personality of the Year Award in 2015.

    Sterling Media orchestrated the entire global communications campaign for the short film #WhatIReallyReallyWant which received a staggering 150 million views and more than 1.6 million YouTube views in the first few days of launch. The film was also shared by global names including Victoria Beckham, Richard Branson and Emma Watson.

    On the 20th anniversary of the release of the Spice Girls’ Wannabe video, an updated version of “#WhatIReallyReallyWant” was launched in July 2016 marking 20 years of Girl Power. The film reflected the voices of girls and women all over the world telling world leaders what Goals they ‘really really want’ to be achieved to help improve their lives. The film was directed by MJ Delaney of Moxie Pictures and featured artists from around the world including Gigi Lamayne and Moneoa from South Africa, Seyi Shay from Nigeria, Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez from Sri Lanka, M.O from the UK, Taylor Hatala from Canada and Larsen Thompson from the USA.

    The viral video launched online and in cinemas all over the world with a call to action for people everywhere to share a picture of #WhatIReallyReallyWant for girls and women.

    Speaking about the award, Mudhar said,“On behalf of everyone at Sterling Media we are so thankful to the event organisers, and the esteemed judges for awarding us this wonderful accolade for the short film we launched with our partners Project Everyone – #WhatIReallyReally Want.

    Sterling has been engaged in a number of other high profile projects. These include the launch of a $9 trillion bauxite project in New Guinea; directing the global communication strategy for the US Government’s GODAN (Global Open Data on Agriculture & Nutrition) Summit 2016 –  the largest-ever event dedicated to open data in agriculture and nutrition to end hunger; the launch of the Worlds Largest Lesson India initiative which aims to teach every child in India a lesson about the Sustainable Development Goals; and managing the India and Africa strategies for the Jamie Oliver Food Foundation to tackle child malnutrition.

    Jacqueline Fernandez becomes Spice Girl In #WhatIReallyReallyWant Film

    MUMBAI: Two decades since British girl group Spice Girls debuted their smash hit, “Wannabe,” the iconic music video has been recreated with non-other than mega star Jacqueline Fernandez in it. She is one of the ‘Spice Girls’ representing India in the film, along with British hip hop group M.O, Nigerian singer Seyi Shay, South African  award winning Hip Hop artist Gigi Lamayne, singer Moneoa and American dancer Taylor Hatala.

    Ever since the film hit the internet it has gone viral with 36 Million views and has been retweeted and shared by many of Hollywood’s super stars. The original Spice Girl Victoria Beckham and Hollywood actress Emma Watson were amongst countless personalities to support the film Victoria Beckham, in her support for the Global Goals campaign, has encouraged women to share the goals they want to achieve by using the hashtag #WhatIReallyReallyWant.

    “I think this film is a wonderful idea. How fabulous is it that after 20 years, the legacy of the Spice Girls’ — ‘Girl Power’ — is being used to encourage and empower a whole new generation”

    She later tweeted –

    “#WhatIReallyReallyWant is no more girls dying of HIV @TheGlobalGoals”

    Spice Girls member Mel C wrote on Twitter –

    “Flattered and honoured that our crazy song is being used so beautifully@theglobalgoals #WhatIReallyReallyWant”

    Lily Singh a.k.a Super Women who is a vlogger and influencer shared the video on facebook saying –
    “Yas! Love this spread that #girlpowe”

    Talking about being a part of this film Jacqueline Fernandez said “Gender discrimination has to stop and the global community has to start putting girls first. We need to create a community where girls feel strong, safe and supported and have equal access to education, technology, health and sanitation….The world needs a dose of girl power and that’s why I’m supporting the Global Goals campaign for girls and women.”

    NBC to look at the Posh life of Victoria Beckham in reality show

    MUMBAI: Football star David Beckham’s better half Victoria Beckham who was formerly known as Posh Spice has signed a deal with US broadcaster NBC for a new reality series from Simon Fuller’s 19 Entertainment.

    It will give viewers an exclusive inside look at Beckham’s glamorous life as she makes the move across the pond from London to Los Angeles. The six, half-hour episodes are slated to premiere this summer.

    NBC Entertainment president Kevin Reilly says, “The series will give viewers a glimpse into what makes Victoria so popular and admired as one of the most glamorous women in the world. She makes news wherever she goes and our audience can now become insiders in this fascinating personal view of what being ‘Posh’ truly represents.”

    Beckham says, “I am so excited to be making this show for NBC with Simon Fuller. He has so much success around the world with his TV shows and the respect and trust of everybody he works with. This show is really something different, it’s pushing the boundaries and I think it’s going to surprise a lot of people.”

    Fuller says, “For the past few years, I’ve been inundated with requests to make a show based on Victoria’s real life. After much thought, we have finally decided to do it. NBC will be our partners. Both Kevin Reilly and Craig Plestis have been extremely supportive in allowing us to do something a little different. This show will cross all genres and hopefully will pleasantly surprise a few people!”

    Beckham burst onto the scene as a member of the pop group The Spice Girls. Known around the world as “Posh Spice,” the group sold millions of albums worldwide before it disbanded in 2001.
