    Usha International appoints Anshuman Chakravarty as VP, marketing

    Mumbai: Usha International has appointed Anshuman Chakravarty as vice president – marketing. He will report to executive chairman Krishna Shriram and will handle the operations from Gurugram.

    Chakravarty is a brand management and marketing communications practitioner with experience in working in India and international markets (Asia & Europe), with exposure in B2C & B2B domains. He is armed with over 23 years of experience in strategising and executing brand launches, re-positioning strategies, media planning and buying, internal and external communication, social & digital marketing, PR & reputation management, and crisis communication.

    An MBA in marketing & post-graduate in journalism and mass communication, Chakravarty started his career at Sahara Group as manager of brand and corporate communications. 

    He later joined DS Group, where he served as associate head of corporate communications and post that, he worked with Jindal Stainless and Kaefer as head of corporate communications.

    In his most recent role, he was associated with electrical equipment manufacturer Orient Electric as head of brand and corporate communications for over seven years.

    Mumbai: Gaurav Khetan has joined homegrown microblogging site Koo as vice president-business, as per his updated LinkedIn profile.

    Khetan was last associated with Star Sports as vice president, rights acquisitions and strategy. He managed various portfolios in his nine-year stint at the Star network channel.

    Prior to Star Sports, Khetan had a four-year stint at PwC as a business consultant, working on CXO suite projects across industry sectors.

    He is an alumnus of IIM, Ahemdabad.

    Mumbai: Global media company Lionsgate India has named Gayathiri Guliani as vice president of licensing and content partnerships, Lionsgate South Asia.

    A media specialist with experience of over two decades in the creative and business side of the entertainment industry, Guliani will be closely working with Lionsgate South Asia and networks-emerging markets Asia managing director Rohit Jain, said the company in a statement.

    “We at Lionsgate are thrilled to have Gayathiri as the newest member in the team. Her rich knowledge of the media and entertainment landscape in India & South Asia will help our rapid growth and pace immensely,” said Jain on the new appointment.

    With over 23 years of experience in planning, strategising, content development, green lighting process of the local content films, Guliani has in-depth knowledge and understanding of the licensing markets in India and globally. She has marketed and distributed content to over 70 territories worldwide.

    She has worked with well-known entertainment brands like Star TV, Channel V, Viacom 18, Reliance Entertainment Group, and Sahara One Motion Pictures to name a few. Prior to joining Lionsgate India, she was with Sony Pictures India as director of international business and revenues. She is a key opinion leader in various forums like FICCI and a recipient of the youngest achiever award for international distribution.

    Mumbai: In-play advertising platform Admix has announced the appointment of mobile gaming and media industry expert Stefan Adamczyk as VP of global partnerships.

    In this role, Adamczyk’s primary goal is to expand Admix’s best-in-class global publisher network, further cementing Admix’s position as the leading in-play solution provider for the mobile gaming industry, it said in a statement.

    Mumbai: Lionsgate India on Wednesday announced that Shreya Channa, who joined the firm earlier this year as VP – head of people office, to become a part of the expansion for South Asia (SA) and emerging markets of Asia. She will be reporting to Lionsgate MD Rohit Jain.

    Channa will work closely with Rohit Jain and Lionsgate global CHRO Ross Pollack who is based in the USA, to expand Lionsgate’s strategy and people operations in emerging markets of Asia, said the company in a statement.

    Channa is a seasoned HR professional with over 17 years of experience in human capital consulting, corporate HR and has advised Fortune 500 companies in India and the USA in technology and telecom, among other industries. She has held a number of senior HR positions advising executive teams.

    Byju’s appoints Vineet Singh as VP, brand & creative strategy

    Mumbai: Edtech company Byju’s on Tuesday announced the appointment of Vineet Singh as vice president, brand & creative strategy.

    In his new role, Singh will be responsible to build and enhance the brand’s value proposition across offline and online mediums to cater to a diverse array of audiences across the country, said the company in a statement.

    From market research and insight analysis to defining the brand elements and tone, he will be in charge of creatively increasing brand awareness and strengthening the company’s positioning for market growth and oversee the brand’s creative philosophy, conceptualise and execute powerful narratives for the company, it added.

    Singh commands over 15 years of industry experience. In his most recent role, he was WeWork India group chief marketing officer of Embassy Group. Previously, during his stint at Digitas, he played an instrumental role in shaping marketing and digital strategies for brands like Nestle, JK Tyres, Make my trip, etc. At Google India, he led the media and platform sales for emerging business groups and government agencies. 
    Having worked with clients from various verticals including education, e-commerce, travel, auto, and government, he also had the opportunity to work on automation-related projects and developed expertise in display advertising in the Indian market.

    Lucinda Martinez joins Netflix as VP, multicultural marketing

    Mumbai: Netflix has brought on board veteran marketing executive Lucinda Martinez as vice president of multicultural marketing. She is set to take on her new role later this month and will report to Netflix CMO Bozoma Saint John, reported Variety.

    In this newly created position, Martinez will build a multicultural marketing team and lead Netflix’s targeted marketing efforts to the Latino, Black, Asian, LBGTQ, and faith audiences.

    She is a strategic marketing and management professional with a strong record of contributions in sales, marketing, new business development, new product launches, promotions, and brand management, for both business-to-business and direct-to-consumer products & services.

    Martinez previously served as executive vice president of HBO and HBO Max brand marketing for more than 20 years. She was responsible for developing a distinct, resonant and inclusive brand narrative for HBO and HBO Max. She also led the expansion of talent development and emerging artist programs across all WarnerMedia brands.

    “We want our marketing to be just as entertaining and inclusive as our films and shows, and want to ignite conversations about our brand worldwide,” said Bozoma Saint John, as mentioned by Variety. “Lucinda is a leader in the space and under her direction, we will continue to sharpen the inclusion lens in our marketing and engage our audiences in authentic and culturally relevant ways.”

    Mumbai: Homegrown ed-tech company upGrad on Saturday announced that Ankit Khirwal has joined the upGrad management team as vice president – marketing.

    As part of his new role, Khirwal will lead the end-to-end marketing efforts across the organisation. He will manage all aspects of brand marketing and public relations, performance marketing, CRM marketing, creative and content marketing.

    Khirwal was earlier associated at Pepperfry as marketing head. As a part of its senior leadership team, he managed the entire marketing function. In addition to marketing, he has also led various verticals including category management, financial planning & strategy. Prior to Pepperfry, as an analyst at RBS International, he worked on key Debt Capital Market transactions for Indian corporates.  An IIM-Bangalore alumnus, he is a CA by qualification and a graduate of the Shri Ram College of Commerce.

    Mumbai: TEOCO’s former global head of recruitment and resource management, Samiran Chatterjee, has joined the JK Tech team to head its operations. In his new role, Chatterjee will be responsible for sales operations, revenue, and resource management. 

    Chatterjee brings with him over 33 years of experience across industries, of which 20+ years are in the IT industry.

    Mumbai: FMCG personal care brand WOW Skin Science on Monday announced the appointment of Kiran Kumar as vice president of the supply chain.

    Kumar will play a pivotal role in managing the end-to-end supply chain of Body Cupid Pvt Ltd. His responsibilities will also include production and distribution planning, warehousing, logistics, and procurement.

    In his career spanning 18 years, Kumar has worked as senior instock manager at Cloudtail, an Amazon joint venture. He has also lent his expertise as manager- supply chain at Marico where he handled various roles across manufacturing, procurement, distribution planning, new product development, project management, modern trade, and e-commerce supply chain management.
