    Virginia Sharma moves on from JioSaavn

    Mumbai: JioSaavn vice president of brand solutions Virginia Sharma has decided to move on from the company after close to a two-year stint. 

    Prior to joining JioSaavn in May 2020, Sharma was employed with LinkedIn as sales director, marketing solutions.

    Based out of JioSaavn’s Gurgaon office, Sharma was spearheading the music streaming company’s global digital ad monetisation efforts across platforms. She was responsible for driving the adoption of JioSaavn’s innovative advertising solutions for brands while overseeing agency and client relationships.

    “Wrapping up an incredible 2 year journey at JioSaavn for Brands with a little victory dance! Today is my last day, and I am leaving feeling grateful and satisfied with my contributions to the team and our clients. We delivered double digit revenue growth throughout the pandemic and have built a world class full stack digital sales and customer success organization. Thank you to the founders of JioSaavn Vinodh B, Rishi Malhotra, and Paramdeep Singh for giving me this incredible opportunity!” Sharma wrote in the LinkedIn post.

    With over two decades of experience in sales and marketing, Sharma has worked in the US, Singapore, Japan and India. She has also worked with IBM for more than 15 years in various global and regional roles, including India vice president of marketing and communications before joining LinkedIn Asia Pacific in 2014.

    “Over the next few weeks, I will be investing in my mom’s recovery after her month-long hospital stay and preparing for my EFPM Doctoral Defense. More on my #nextplay in the coming weeks!” she further said in the same post, about her future plans.

    Mumbai: Sleepy Owl, a Delhi-based D2C company in the innovative coffee space, has announced the appointment of Aseem Sood as vice president of sales. His appointment aligns with the brand’s plan of solidifying the core leadership team.

    Sood brings with him over 15 years of diverse leadership experience across business and customer development, sales transformation, capability building, strategy formulation and implementation, and people leadership. He brings with him a deep understanding of the consumer goods segment of the Indian market.

    An MBA in marketing from Xavier Institute of Management – Bhubaneswar, Sood previously headed Modern Trade for Mars Wrigley and also drove the strategic reinvention across import business and supply and supply chain in his tenure of eight years. He started his career with Cavinkare Pvt Ltd in 2005 and has also been associated with Marico Ltd, where he served as regional sales head.

    Mumbai: Consumer electronics veteran Prasoon Kumar has joined B2B commerce platform Arzooo as vice president, strategy. Kumar has been at the forefront of leading distribution, sales and channel strategy for some of India’s largest white goods brands.

    At Arzooo, Kumar’s charter will be to drive the company’s expansion and reach into the breadth and width of the country with mid to long term strategy and bringing strategic partnerships on it’s mission to power offline retail with technology and financial capability and making them competitive and scalable, said the statement.

    In his last assignment at Voltas, Kumar played a pivotal role in setting up the business for the Voltas-Beko – a joint venture of India’s voltas and Turkey’s Beko. He was leading the sales and marketing function for Voltas-Beko while spearheading the launch for the JV brand in India including the channel strategy and consumer marketing.

    Mumbai: Homegrown furniture and home products marketplace Pepperfry has named Ruchir Aswal as vice president of product (business). 

    In this role, Aswal will be responsible for driving products for channel expansion (franchisee and other programmes), merchant or seller network, pepcart logistics, distributor management systems and sales systems across the country, said the brand in a statement.

    In this new role, Singh will lead the entire gamut of digital, product, and brand marketing initiatives for Bolo Live and will play an important role in scaling the company’s growth in new and existing markets as well as broadening its global reach, it said in a statement on Monday.

    Mumbai: Global technology brand OnePlus has elevated its vice president, chief strategy officer, and head of sales in India, Navnit Nakra, to the role of OnePlus India CEO and head of the brand for India region.

    As part of this new senior leadership role, Nakra will spearhead the company’s business operations and overall strategy for the India region, said the statement.
