Bharat24’s attempt towards becoming a national news channel for an emergent India

Mumbai: Bharat24, the latest entrant amongst the Hindi news channels, is all set to pave way for new commencements in this market with its path-breaking news reportage. It aims to lead the national news scene and become the ‘Voice of India’ focusing on a credible first-to-report content strategy for the channel.

As a news organisation, Bharat24 is striving to act as a bridge between the government and its people to provide them with transparent and right information. With the aim of setting a high benchmark for news reporting, the channel has put in place a strong network of 4000+ reporters (one reporter in each of India’s 4000 constituencies) and bureaus in all major states across India. It has set up a news control room with dedicated hotlines for seamless news gathering from its reporter network and news agencies. While it is observed that most national Hindi news channels focus on two or three states, Bharat24’s network strength has enabled it to focus on all Indian states, equally.

Bharat24 has allotted 30 per cent of its screen to the news flash bands highlighting the significant 15-20 news stories from each state, mapping Twitter updates of prominent personalities in each state, international news events, etc. adding up to 1000+ news stories.

In comparison to the silos of conventional set-ups, Bharat24 targets to be a disruptor news brand and has created an integrated news environment for the seamless broadcast of news. The channel has blurred the lines between the departments of input, assignment and output and the same teams remain vigilant across all aspects of news from news gathering to breaking it to the viewers.
Within a short span of time, Bharat24 has also gained phenomenal advertiser support. It has roped in more than 35 clients within a month from launch – Amul, Policy Bazaar, Muthoot Finance, Reliance Retail, Kelvinator, R-pure masale, Jio Mart, Ankur Salt, JSW Paints, Wonder Cement, FOGG, BL Agro, Rajesh Masala, Rajdhani Besan, JK Cement, Suhana Masale, to name a few.

While speaking about the channel’s strategy, Bharat24 chief business officer and strategic advisor to the board Manoj Jagyasi added, “Our intention is to improve the viewer engagement and experience of TV news consumption. I am delighted with the positive response that Bharat24 has been generating since its launch. The channel has resonated well with viewers and advertisers alike. It is a matter of great pride the channel was launched with many credible advertisers.”

Inspite of being a late entrant in the news scene, the channel is at par with its competitors and is grasping the quickly changing market dynamics by adapting new-age technologies. Bharat24 boasts to be the first to introduce augmented reality (AR) enabled studios which enable the channel to deliver clean, clutter-free enhanced audio-visual content on-air. The channel also operates on the latest broadcast technology.

Bharat24 is well distributed across all major DTH, online and cable networks.

  • GUEST ARTICLE: How to stay competitive in the growing world of influencer marketing

GUEST ARTICLE: How to stay competitive in the growing world of influencer marketing

Mumbai: If you reflect ten to twelve years, affiliate marketing was a reliable method of reaching your target audience on the internet. Traditionally, affiliate publishers and web portals were the primary channels through which brands competed for customers. Trends, however, are subject to cyclical changes, aren’t they?

Nowadays, brands are looking for influencers who can promote their products on social media. The effectiveness of influencer marketing was questioned five or six years ago, but now brands are willing to pay a lot to connect with the right influencers through agencies.

According to our experience with affiliate marketing and influencer advertising, influencer marketing is a mixed form of affiliate marketing and celebrity endorsements. Influencers are now able to leverage their power through the creation of engaging brand-centric content. As part of our mission, we strive to connect with like-minded customers and to provide them with a better customer experience.

    Powerful influencer platforms

Curated newsletters have taken off over the past few years. It’s common for business influencers to promote articles through newsletters on social media like Twitter and LinkedIn. You’ll likely come back for more as you read.

Eventually, you’ll gain trust in the sources of information in the content, and their words will be able to influence you. When they promote a product or service, a buyer might buy it. You should send out newsletters and blog posts.

The old ways of marketing can’t get you brand awareness anymore. Be sure to take advantage of influencers who are influencing your target audience.

Get an edge on your competition with influencer marketing. To help you start influencing people with your products and services, here are some tips:

    • Ensure your influencers are legit

Influencer marketing follows the same principles as other forms of marketing. Getting to know your audience members is key to providing anything of value to them.

Make sure you segment your target audience based on their interests. Pick influencers who can attract those people instead of those whose reach will do it. Any relationship you have with an influencer should be based on relevance.

If you pick an influencer with a similar target audience to your brand, you’ll be able to reach the right people. Consumers 92 per cent of the time trust you as an authoritative source and recommend you to friends and family. Many followers of influencers consider their videos, photos, and posts to be endorsements.

    • Make your influence niche-specific

Marketing with influencers can reach millions, but you won’t get as much for your money as with other “mass” marketing strategies.

Try looking for smaller influencers and followers instead of big ones. It’s often more likely that they have engaged and dedicated fans. Their communication should also be tailored to the audience and generate responses.

Many brands use this approach. This campaign wasn’t designed to maximise ROI but to expand the brand’s social footprint, which can pay off financially.

    • Mix your content correctly

You can reach different audiences with influencer marketing, just like with content marketing. Make sure you’re not just using Instagram and Snapchat for short-form content. These platforms don’t just have viewer influence; you shouldn’t rely on them exclusively.

See if long-form content offers you more opportunities instead. By using sites like Medium, you can find the right balance rather than focussing on one type of content exclusively. A platform like medium lets your audience dig deeper into topics than Snapchat and Instagram.

Curating your marketing collateral is always a good idea, and a good collection provides various content. You can further the discussion with pictures, videos, articles, and even emails.

    • Make give-aways free and valuable

No one can deny that people love freebies. Ensure your influencers are hosting giveaways so your target audience will be attracted to your content.

It will help to encourage participants to follow your account and comment on your posts, and it may get more engagement. Customers will return to your business after sampling your products and getting to know your brand.

37 per cent of the time, consumers buy stuff based on recommendations from social influencers. The social proof of influencers is one of the reasons consumers trust them. There is a chance these strategies will boost sales, so they are worth a shot.

    Conclusion

A marketer’s arsenal of marketing strategies is growing more powerful with the use of influencers. It will help if you learn how to use it properly to be able to use it effectively. It takes considerable time, effort, and research to identify the right influencer to promote your brand. Once you have achieved the proper balance for your bottom line, it may be a divine match.

People who have a large following of people who can draw the attention of their immense social media following to your brand.

    4. Promote content

Make sure you have a content marketing strategy in place to maximise the advantages of social media for the company.

    Conclusion

It allows you the chance to advertise your goods while also communicating on many channels. Whether a blessing or a curse, social interaction among people has never been impacted by other environmental elements since it has such a strong grasp on society and people’s daily lives.

  • Domino’s faces FSSAI heat as viral video raises question mark on its hygiene standards

Domino’s faces FSSAI heat as viral video raises question mark on its hygiene standards

Mumbai: Days after a Twitter user posted a video allegedly showing poor hygienic practises followed at a Domino’s outlet in Bengaluru, the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has swung into action. The authorities on Wednesday issued a spot memo to food business operators seeking an explanation regarding “unhygienic food handling practices” at the pizza outlet reported in the complaint.

An improvement notice was also issued based on “inspection observations” which are to be complied with within 15 days, reported news agency ANI. Further necessary action will be taken against the multinational pizza restaurant chain by the designated officer (state licensing), Bangalore Urban District, as per the provisions under the FSS Act upon receipt of the explanation, said ANI in a tweet.

    :

The FSSAI crackdown comes on the back of a complaint raised by a Twitter user against alleged unhygienic practises being followed at the pizza brand’s outlet. The user had posted a picture last month, allegedly of a Domino’s outlet in Bengaluru, showing a mop and a toilet brush hanging in close proximity above the pizza dough.

The user who identifies himself as an IT graduate wrote: This is how @dominos_india serves us fresh Pizza! Very disgusted. Location: Bangalore.

He also tagged the FSSAI, the ministry of Health, the Karnataka health minister, and the union health minister.

The Twitter user named Sahil Karnany followed it up with a video on 14 August, captioning the tweet, “Here is the video of the scene.”

The tweet soon became viral, with several other netizens responding to it, some of them sharing their own bad experiences with the pizza brand.

Soon after, the FSSAI took notice of the tweet. Responding to Karnany’s tweet on Tuesday, the official Twitter handle of the agency wrote, “FSSAI has taken note of the incident. The response of the FBO has been sought and appropriate action shall be taken in the matter as per the regulatory provisions under the FSS Act, 2006.”

Meanwhile, Domino’s India has issued an official statement saying the brand adheres to “world-class protocols for ensuring the highest standards of hygiene and food safety.”

“An incident involving one of our stores was recently brought to our notice. We want to assert that this is an isolated incident, and we have taken the strictest action against the restaurant in question. Please be informed that we have zero tolerance for violations of our high safety standards,” the pizza restaurant chain further stated.

  • ‘Twitter has spoken’, says Musk as 65% back his claims on fake users in poll

‘Twitter has spoken’, says Musk as 65% back his claims on fake users in poll

Mumbai: The Twitter-Elon Musk wrangle does not seem to be resolving itself any time soon, with both sides trading charges and counter charges. A Twitter poll by the Tesla CEO has revealed that nearly 65 per cent of his followers do not believe Twitter’s claims on the percentage of fake/spam accounts on the platform.

The Tesla CEO conducted the poll on Saturday on whether “less than five per cent of Twitter daily users are fake/spam?” to be answered with a Yes/No. The billionaire triumphantly declared the results of the online poll on Monday: “Twitter has spoken …”, disclosing that 64.9 per cent of over eight lakh users who participated in the poll believe that Twitter’s claims that less than five per cent of its active users are bots is not true.

Some of the Twitterati went so far as to accuse the networking giant of trying to hide its actual bot count, with Musk emphatically agreeing to the accusation.

The Tesla CEO is engaged in a fierce legal battle with Twitter after he backed out of his $44 billion acquisition deal, claiming the social media giant did not keep up its part of the deal by disclosing the correct data on spam and bot accounts on the platform. Twitter claims that spam profiles account for only five per cent of its daily active users.

Earlier, Musk challenged Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal to a “public debate” over the issue of fake accounts on the platform. In multiple tweets, while replying to a follower’s tweet summarising the highlights of the $44 billion acquisition offer to buy Twitter, Musk asserted that the social media company’s method of estimating spam bots and accounts is flawed and “materially false.”

The billionaire currently faces a lawsuit after breaching the $44 billion acquisition agreement of the social media company.

  • Over 90% of shoppers actively seek out comments about brands on social media before buying: Twitter & Publicis media research

Over 90% of shoppers actively seek out comments about brands on social media before buying: Twitter & Publicis media research

MUMBAI: How much does talking about brands and products impact sales? And how do businesses tap into this power? Over 90 per cent of shoppers actively seek out comments about brands, products, or services on social media before arriving at purchase decisions, according to a recent research study. 68 per cent of those surveyed said their impression of a brand was changed as a result of experiencing brand conversation, according to the study undertaken in collaboration by Publicis Media & Twitter. Over half of shoppers consider brand conversation on social media impactful as per traditional reviews.

Twitter teamed up with Publicis Media to survey 9,600 consumers on six social platforms across the US, the UK, India and Mexico, to understand how brand conversations on social impact consumer decision-making and sales. The study uncovered several findings that point to the power of social brand conversation. The research aims to understand how brand conversations on social impact consumer decision-making and sales.

71 per cent of people surveyed felt they are more likely to consider brand conversations before a purchase journey begins. While the data shows the influence of brand conversation is high before or early in a purchase journey, it decays over time. This indicates that always-on engagement is key and can even kick-start buying decisions.

According to the study, content and sentiment matter with 86 per cent of “very positive” conversations being considered as ‘memorable’ by respondents. Whereas only 49 per cent of “very negative” conversations are considered memorable. Three in four brand conversations resulted in more positive brand sentiment, as per the study.

The research also corroborated brand conversations on Twitter as driving people to buy, with 60 per cent of purchasers who recalled a conversation on Twitter said it made them much more likely to consider the product they bought.

Publicis Media Services India CEO Tanmay Mohanty said about the research, “In a world where interaction, opinion and communication are vital, this is the reason social media platforms are still seeing growth and can influence & shape consumer views and decisions.”

“This groundbreaking study with Twitter illuminates how consumers actively seek opinion on brands on social platforms, and how social chatter can influence decision-making and purchase and build trust and popularity for brands,” he further said.
