  • Tanishqs new campaign by Lowe Lintas celebrates remarriage

Tanishqs new campaign by Lowe Lintas celebrates remarriage

MUMBAI: Jewellery adds to your celebrations, isn’t it? That is the mantra on which Tanishq is cashing on this wedding season with its new campaign conceptualised by Lowe Lintas.

Tanishq had launched its wedding collection in 2010, and though it has a range of wedding jewellery, it’s not the preferred choice of wedding specific customers. To deal with this setback that it is facing, the brand has introduced a range of wedding jewellery that is a fusion of new age and contemporary design set in age-old Kundan polki, which makes it unique.

The brief given to the creative agency was to establish Tanishq as the ‘differentiated wedding jeweller’.

“Everything about the ad has to reflect the brand as the new-age product. Hence, we came up with a subject like this to make a bold statement talking about the brand which hasn’t been tapped in the past, says Lowe Lintas’ NCD Arun Iyer about the TVC.

The TVC opens with a bride getting ready for her wedding, when a little girl walks up to her and starts interacting with her. The bride and the little girl walk together to the wedding mandap where the little girl goes and sits next to an elderly couple and the pheras start. Alongside, the little girl is shown telling the elderly couple to be a part of the pheras too but is denied. Finally, the little girl calls out to the bride and says “Mama, I also want to go round and round”. The bride shushes her, but the groom, on seeing how sad the little girl is, calls out to the girl and carries her. The couple completes the rest of the pheras with the little girl.

What is catching everyone’s attention is the concept. Another talking point is the ‘dusky’ woman who features in the TVC. “Yes, we know everyone is talking about it, but nothing was done intentionally. The girl suited the role so we got her onboard,” clarifies Iyer.

About the expectations from the campaign, Tanishq senior VP sales and marketing Sandeep Kulahalli says, “We wanted to do something different this time and do something which is usually not done by this category. And maybe, that’s why the camapign has been well recieved by people.”

He adds, “Tanishq as a brand has evolved over the years and this showcases that we arent a ‘traditional’ brand. We show the progressiveness in people’s mind.”

The campaign will be executed on TV, print and OOH.

  • Intex campaign becomes bigger, better for Aqua i7

Intex campaign becomes bigger, better for Aqua i7

Mumbai: As the smartphone market continues to grow at a brisk pace, the manufactures are coming up with better and bigger campaigns to promote their products.

The multi-crore TVC was shot in Mumbai and Malaysia while the VFX and editing had been done out of Singapore, says Keshav Bansal

This time, Intex has launched a new campaign for its latest smartphone, Aqua i7. The insight for the campaign came from a research highlighting Intex’s hold across major tier 2 and tier 3 cities. The TVC is done by an in-house team.

Keeping in mind the target consumers for Aqua i7, the focus was to devise a TVC that will help in its aggressive marketing of the product in Tier 1 cities, majorly in the metros like Delhi, Mumbai and others.

The phone comes with features packed at an aggressive price range of Rs 22,000 which is a huge leap from the 12,000 price range of its previous flagship smartphone. “The phone caters to a niche segment, therefore the richness and the elegance of the phone needs to be communicated to the audience through TVC. Thus, the objective was to communicate these features to the consumer in an engrossing manner,” said Intex Technologies director – marketing (mobile) Keshav Bansal.

Talking about the key issues kept in mind while executing the TVC, Bansal says, “We wanted the TVC to focus on the remarkable features of Aqua i7 and hence the TVC was crafted in a way that it is able to etch these features in the mind of consumers with its visual grandeur. The multi-crore TVC was shot in Mumbai and Malaysia while the VFX and editing had been done in Singapore to give it an unmatched appearance. Since we are coming out with a quality product for a niche segment, we left no stones unturned in terms of execution, visual effects or editing to bring out a one of its kind TVC in the fastest possible time.”

The TVC features the brand ambassador Frahan Akhtar and an action packed fight sequence between a Samurai and Ninja.

The major media vehicles chosen are TV, print, outdoor hoardings and digital. “Intex is giving extra importance to social media platforms such as YouTube, Facebook and Twitter and is aggressively engaging with its customer base on these platforms,” emphasises Bansal.

Lowe Lintas dabs on emotions for Alto

MUMBAI:  Lowe Lintas has conceptualised a new campaign for Alto 800. The car from Maruti Suzuki went through significant changes to make it contemporary and stay relevant.

The ‘Let’s Go’ campaign symbolises younger attitude but also has dabs of emotion.  The company wanted to capture the essence of festivals In India and the insight it got was that the festivals are celebrated by travelling; people go out shopping, meeting friends, relatives. Hence, Alto 800 wanted to integrate its promise of offering the best mileage in its class to the spirit of festivals in order to drive brand’s consideration.

Commentating on the campaign, Lowe Lintas Delhi president Naveen Gaur says, “In India, festivals are celebrated by travelling. People go out shopping, meeting friends, relatives. Families get together to jointly celebrate. In such times a car with exceptional mileage is an ideal car to own. With the new Alto 800 commercial, Maruti Suzuki and Lowe Lintas wanted to integrate this insight, with the festival led car buying season and the brand promise of ‘Let’s go’. Additionally it was an opportunity for us to infuse a sense of festivity into the market.”

Elaborating more on it, Gaur adds, “Mileage is something that can become very functional and manufactures’ speak, however this TVC captures the benefit unequivocally in a very warm and emotional storyline. It also captures a progressive attitude among today’s couples who are increasingly equal partners in their relationship.”

  • Azva launches campaign on seven vows

Azva launches campaign on seven vows

MUMBAI: Azva, the bridal jewellery collection from World Gold Council, has launched its latest campaign on the idea of seven vows / saat pheras of a wedding ritual.

The insight for the campaign is that Indian marriages and gold go hand-in-hand. The last decade or so has witnessed a sea-change in the way marriages are solemnised in India. When the location, attire, mandap, sangeet and even décor have seen dramatic influences from other cultures and countries, the modern Indian couple was seen as moving forward. But gold bridal jewellery remained stuck in tradition and in the traditional idea of marriage.

The challenge was to bring gold back into modern marriage conversation. The brief given to BBH India was to contemporise gold in the modern marriage context. The campaign aims to contemporise the modern seven vows and in turn builds relate-ability with the modern day couple. The creative idea “every relationship has the magic of seven” is translated in the creatives.

The nationwide roll-out across 46 cities comprises of TVC as the lead medium supported by OOH and ads in leading magazines. There is a strong digital plan engaging the audience on social networking site and promoting the brand across leading online portals.

The TVC is directed by Prakash Varma of Nirvana Films. Media buying is handled by Maxus

From Here On founder and MD Rajesh Aggarwal said, “In the crowded space of travel advertising, our cue was simple – demonstrate the peril of traveling without knowing, in a quirky manner, which breaks the clutter and creates a memorable and sticky visual metaphor for the brand.”

  • McCann takes forward Greenlam Laminates message of beauty

McCann takes forward Greenlam Laminates message of beauty

Mumbai: Greenlam Laminates has created a new campaign, taking forward the idea of “Zamaane ko Sajana hai”.

The campaign – ‘Mahaul Sundar toh Khayal Sundar’ – plans to bring the message in a more interesting and engaging manner to the masses. In keeping with the brief given by the client, the TVC created by McCann depicts social evils and day to day happenings in a more positive manner.

MWG India CEO and chief creative officer Prasoon Joshi says, “This is a special client who allows space for such creative flights for the brand. This ad is a satire and creative take by the brand, which exaggerates how a product like Greenlam transforms not only your physical being but also transforms your state of mind and thinking. The script carefully takes care of striking a balance between cynicism and humour. Music enhances it to make you really think and question… And it was as usual enriching to work with Ram.”

The cue for the creative was taken from the New York metro case study. A research done in New York highlighted the fact that keeping the surroundings and environment clean reduced the crime rates drastically as compared to unkempt and filthy environment.

Hence, the agency took the social angle but by sticking to the brief of –‘When your environment is beautiful it results in getting positive thoughts.’

On the campaign, Greenlam Laminates marketing and communications vice president Alex Joseph says, “Greenlam Laminates has taken a leap forward from its last year’s ‘Zamane ko Sajana hai’ campaign which goes on to evoke beautiful, positive and refreshing thoughts amongst the masses. Our belief that beautiful surroundings lead to happy thoughts has been highlighted in the TVC in a satire manner.  We intend to touch the human hearts with emotions of happiness and comfort, thus instilling the need of a beautiful ambience.”

A complete 360 degree media campaign is planned for the campaign. The TVC was aired on 70 channels. Prior to the TVC, the teasers were used in print media where half page jackets in almost all leading publications informed the readers on ‘changing india’. RJ’s in various FM channels asked their listeners to be tuned in to their favorite channel to witness ‘changing india’. A complete online campaign also ran informing the surfers about the change.
