    Colors Tamil to present world TV premiere of ‘Ulkuthu’ on 20 March

    Mumbai: Colors Tamil is set to telecast the world television premiere of “Ulkuthu” on 20 March at 5 p.m.

    Directed by Caarthick Raju, the film features actors Dinesh and Nandita Swetha in lead roles. It also stars Chaya Singh, actor-stunt choreographer Dhilip Subbarayan, Sharath Lohitashwa, and John Vijay in supporting roles.

    “Considering the effort we put into the film, I am thrilled that its television premiere is on Colors Tamil and would reach vast audiences,” said director Caarthick Raju. “The film brings two genres, revenge and comedy, together. It was not easy but I am glad that all the pieces fit into the puzzle.”

    Set in a serene coastal town, “Ulkuthu” revolves around Raja who is in pursuit of two feared loan sharks – Kaka Mani and his son Saravanan – to avenge the death of his sister. During his quest, he befriends Sura Shankar in the fishing hamlet, who wants him to marry his sister Kadalarasi. Things take a turn for the worse when Raja ends up hitting and humiliating Saravanan.

    “The film gave me a new look altogether, with the character being unique compared to my previous roles,” said actor Dinesh. “I loved playing the mass-hero who has several grey shades and hidden agendas up his sleeves. With the film premiering on a prominent channel like Colors Tamil, I am confident that the audiences will be at the edge of their seats while having a good laugh with their families.”

    Mumbai: Colors Tamil is all set to present the world television premiere of the blockbuster film “Thaen,” as part of its Sunday Cine Jumbo programming. Viewers can watch this critically acclaimed film on 13 March at 5.30 p.m.

    Written and directed by Ganesh Vinayakan, “Thaen” is a 2021 drama film starring Tharun Kumar and Abarnathi in the lead roles and Aruldoss and Bava Lakshmanan in supporting roles.  “I am excited that ‘Thaen’ will be airing on a popular channel like Colors Tamil,” said actor Tharun Kumar. “It is an engaging film that encompasses the dire social and political issues of the current times. With an engaging thread and powerful drama, I am certain that this would be a great weekend watch for the audience.”

    The film is an adaptation of a real-life incident that narrates the story of Velu, a young uneducated beekeeper and an economically backward husband who encounters the death of his wife Poongodi diagnosed with a rare disease. The dark emotions come into play when Velu carries his dead wife to the cremation ground as he was unable to pay for the mortuary van. This brings forth the plight of the people belonging to the tribal community in the forest areas who are inaccessible to the services, which others enjoy.

    “I was inspired to create ‘Thaen’ as I wanted to bring to light the real-life story of the Muthuvan tribes of Tamil Nadu who faced a similar episode as showcased in the film,” said director Ganesh Vinayakan. “With this story, I wanted to create awareness among the audiences on the predicaments of the economically backward sections of the society. I am glad that my film is airing on Colors Tamil, a channel that proposes to create impacting stories for its viewers.”

    Ranveer Singh’s ’83’ to air on Star Gold before its OTT premiere

    Mumbai: Star Gold has announced that it will telecast the world television premiere of Ranveer Singh’s acclaimed sports drama “83” on 20 March. The film will premiere on TV before it streams on OTT platform, Disney+ Hotstar.

    One of the biggest films released in December 2021, “83” is a biopic based on the victory of the Indian cricket team in the 1983 Cricket World Cup led by Kapil Dev.

    The film is directed by Kabir Khan and produced by Deepika Padukone, Kabir Khan, Vishnu Vardhan Induri, Sajid Nadiadwala and Reliance Entertainment.

    Star Gold is offering brands a chance to replay their memorable and iconic TV ads of the 1980-90s era during the premiere of the film. “The era of 1980-90s is remembered for outstanding advertising and bringing these ads back on TV one more time will rekindle fond memories.     Mumbai: Colors Tamil will telecast the world TV premiere of “Thalli Pogathey” on 20 February at 4 p.m and 7 p.m. Indulekha Brigha Oil has come on board as special partner.

    Directed by R Kannan, “Thalli Pogathey” stars Atharvaa, Anupama Parameswaran and Amitash Pradhan in the lead roles and Aadukalam Naren, Kaali Venkat, Jagan, Vidyullekha Raman and RS Shivaji in supporting roles.

    The film showcases how equations change between a loving husband and wife when a former lover enters their lives.

    “I am ecstatic that this highly anticipated film is going to air on a popular channel like Colors Tamil,” said director Kannan. “We tried to take a different route to romance with Thalli Pogathey. Everyone in the team has put in immense efforts and I am sure that audiences will like our approach.”

    ZEE Tamil to air ‘Kavalthurai Ungal Nanban’ on 29 August

    Mumbai: ZEE Tamil has announced that it will telecast the TV premiere of “Kavalthurai Ungal Nanban” on 29 August at 5 p.m.

    Starring Suresh Ravi, Raveena Ravi, Mime Gopi and RJ Munna, the film based on true events showcases the gruesome custodial deaths that have taken place in the state of Tamil Nadu and the state of police affairs.

    The film follows the life of a food delivery agent named Prabhu and his wife Indu who works in an IT company. The story unfolds the life of a young couple in love who eloped and got married and started their life in a friend’s flat. While facing the daily struggles and building their lives together, their hardships seemed never-ending but they still found solace in one another. One day, however, a group of robbers steals Indu’s jewellery at knifepoint and one of them even ends up misbehaving with her. Furious after learning about the incident, Prabhu decides to file a police complaint. From being stopped and questioned about his vehicle’s papers to being beaten up by the police, Prabhu and Indu’s low-key life turns into a chaotic mess.

    “The idea of the film is to showcase the ill effects of institutional power. This eye-opening, gripping film is sure to leave the audience at the edge of their seats as they witness the clash of a common man’s frustration and the ego of the police,” said the channel in a statement.

    ZEE TV to hold world TV premiere of ‘Radhe’ on 15 August

    Mumbai: ZEE TV has announced the world television premiere of ‘Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai’ on 15 August at 12 noon. Directed by Prabhu Deva and starring Salman Khan, Disha Patani and Randeep Hooda in lead roles, the film was released on 13 May via multiple platforms.

    During its release, theatres remained shut because of lockdown restrictions, so the film was made available for viewing on the OTT platform ZEE5 via its pay-per-view service ZEEPlex as well as DTH operators such as Tata Sky, Dish, D2H, and Airtel Digital TV. The film was also distributed in theatres worldwide while adhering to Covid protocols issued by governments.  

    To create anticipation for the film’s TV premiere on Independence Day, ZEE TV will create the biggest fan-sourced mosaic depicting the actor Salman Khan as ‘Radhe’ that encompasses 6,500 images sourced from across the country. “All one needs to do is upload their picture on their social media page tagging @ZeeTV and using the #BhaiKoSalaam in their post. The lofty 32 ft x 20 ft recreation of Salman Khan’s Radhe is being installed at the Carter Blue Promenade in Bandra, Mumbai and is open for all Salman Khan’s fans till 14th August,” said the channel in a statement.

    “For millions of fans across the nation, Salman Khan has been this larger-than-life hero they worship, a symbol of incomparable charisma and effortless swagger,” said ZEE TV business head, Aparna Bhosle. “It is with the intent of enabling every Salman fan to express their love for him in an extremely personal way that we are inviting them to contribute their selfies, which in turn will be assembled and curated into an almost God-like avatar – a gigantic mosaic of their idol at the busy Carter Road promenade in Mumbai. We hope this celebration of Salman’s fandom mirrors the euphoria surrounding the world television premiere of his film Radhe we’re bringing our viewers on Independence Day.”

    The film is produced by Salman Khan, Sohail Khan, Atul Agnihotri, and Zee Studios.

    Mumbai: ‘Gretel & Hansel’, a nightmarish coming of age film released in 2020, will make its television premiere on Movies Now and MNX. The film will air on 8 August, at 1 pm and 9 pm.

    Directed by Oz Perkins and produced by Fred Berger and starring Alice Krige, Sophia Lillis, and Sam Leakey among others, the film is an adaptation of the German folklore tale ‘Hansel and Gretel’ by the Brothers Grimm.

    A story about truly finding oneself and acknowledging the light and dark within, ‘Gretel and Hansel’ is an intriguing representation of the classic German tale.

    New Delhi: Bhojpuri channel ZEE Biskope is all set to regale its audience with the exclusive world television premiere of the Bhojpuri movie Ganga Sama Gail Sagar Me on 25 July at 6:00 PM, Jila Top band.

    The movie features actors Manan Tiwari, Kalpana Shah and Nisha Singh in the lead roles.

    The story revolves around Sagar and his lady love Ganga with whom he can’t get married because Sagar’s birth was a blessing from Baba Bhairavnath on the condition that he will die the day he gets married. Sagar also happens to be the rebirth of a Naag killed by Baba Bhairavnath in his quest for capturing the Naagin which Bhairavnath later failed to. Ganga happens to be a devotee of the same Naagin. The story involves a lot of dramatic sequences as the truth unfolds in the end. The movie is part of this month’s theme of divine intervention and symbolism around the festival of Saawan.
