The campaign has been developed and conceptualized by J Walter Thompson India (JWT India) and produced and directed by Prashant Issar Sippy of Tubelight Films. The campaign debuts on TV with a 35 second commercial.

Conceptualized on the idea of ‘Wear What You Feel’, the Capricci campaign creatively depicts the different moods of a woman through seven nose pin jackets. The diamond at the core represents the beauty and inner strength of women while the different jacket shapes signify the various sentiments and the versatile personalities of women. The campaign also showcases the versatility of the Capricci collection which includes one classic Forevermark diamond nose pin, seven exclusive jackets for everyday of the week, two Forevermark diamond stud earrings and one charm bracelet. The jackets can be interchanged and worn as different nose pins. Alternatively, the jackets can also be attached as charms to the bracelet.

Talking about the campaign, Forevermark President Sachin Jain commented, “We at Forevermark are proud to launch our first ever India based campaign. The inception of the collection was made in our Diamond Acquisition Study which showed that the nose pin is the second most widely purchased item next only to finger rings. The collection and the campaign pay homage to the modern women of today who are confident, versatile and have their own unique ways of expressing themselves. The campaign showcases different facets of a contemporary Indian woman through simple day to day situations that are significant to her and bring meaning to those around her. “

JWT, India NCD Tista Sen added, “This is the first time Forevermark has explored diamonds in the nose pin category. Something traditional, that is still very modern. We called the collection The Capricci Nose Pin Collection. Capricci means mood in Italian.  This allowed us to beautifully capture the essence of a woman’s different moods through beautiful pieces of jewellery.  Our objective was to bring out the versatility of the product, which includes a nose pin stud with seven inter-changeable jackets, a charm bracelet and stud earrings. A collection that will connect with today’s young women as much as the sequences we’ve used our protagonist in. Whenever you work on an iconic brand, especially one as prestigious as Forevermark which is part of the De Beers Group of Companies, you suddenly feel like a part of its history. And we’re going to make history once again by creating pieces of work that are as exquisite as the jewellery we’re advertising. “

The Capricci Nose Pin campaign will utilize the national media channels such as mainlines, magazines, paid search, online display and video audience buying, key digital sponsorships, social media platforms, and online television.

  • Bigg Boss 7 takes the road to heaven and hell!

Bigg Boss 7 takes the road to heaven and hell!

MUMBAI: What do James Bond and Colors’ reality show Bigg Boss share in common? It’s the number 7. In its seventh edition this year, the Endemol-produced Bigg Boss will begin airing from 15 September promising action like ‘never seen before’.

A pointer is the new theme that has been planned for this year’s theme, which plays with the two afterlife abodes – heaven and hell amplifying the message the pleasure of heaven and the pain of hell. And the tag word they have coined for this year is Bigg Boss Saath 7 (Remember Big Boss Five Five and Season 6 Alag Che?).

Says Colors marketing head Rajesh Iyer: “This season Bigg Boss will make sure that you get to see heaven and hell *saath-saath* on Bigg Boss Season 7.”

The teasers that hit TV screens this week show an open gate with one side leading towards heaven and the other towards damnation or hell. And if you look closely at the promos which are on air you will see Sallu aka Salman Khan donning the avatars of an angel and the devil. The campaign will involve print, digital, mobile and below the line mediums. The face behind the TV campaign is Orchard Advertising and Tubelight films.

The number 7 has been incorporated into many aspects apart from the tagline. The number of participants is 14 (2 X 7) and all the action during the show will be captured on 70 cameras. “The message is simple – pleasure or pain: both are inevitable and there is nothing to be taken for granted,” says Iyer.

Inspiration has been taken from the mythological space and the pleasure of heaven has been articulated as ‘wow’ and pain as aao. Khan will be seen his usual cheerful self and being an improviser himself has created his own catchphrase ‘By God.’ Seems to be very pun intended!

Speaking about what made them choose this particular theme this year Orchard Advertising Executive Creative Director Hemant Kumar Sivan says that they had two tasks to deal with: to raise the curiosity and interest levels amongst viewers and to present Khan in a fresh manner.

“We worked with the simple truth of life that, heaven and hell are of man’s own making. It all depends on how one deals with what life has to offer,” he says intending that the inmates are going to face some hell-like situations and only one of them will survive the best of both worlds.

Living up to its reputation of being very interactive on social media, a heaven versus hell interaction will be initiated every day post the trailer launch. “As of now, we are just feeding cues for people to pick up,” says Colors digital head Vivek Srivastava.

Previously, the fifth season saw two biggies Salman Khan and Sanjay Dutt, both involved in the promotional campaign with a special music video featuring the two while the sixth season played on the theme alag che (it’s different).

Bigg Boss hasn’t gone without its share of controversies. The year 2011 saw the show go into a slightly negative zone with Indo-Canadian porn star Sunny Leone and the channel was pulled up for using the national anthem to promote the show in movie theaters last year. It hasn’t given up hope but. Even this year it will continue to air its promos on theater screens.

According to Colors CEO Raj Nayak its non-fiction shows generate more traction from advertisers than its fictional shows and Bigg Boss gets some of the biggest brand. However, he adds that it works as a loss leader and the channel has been investing in it because it is a cult show. This apart, it generates a lot of buzz. Estimates are that it is in the region of Rs 15-20 crore.

Going by the lyrics of Black Sabbath’s song if it seems to be real, it’s illusion the happenings in the house surely seem to be on the same path. The number seven is lucky for a lot of people. Will it be the same for the Bigg Boss’ Eye or will it suffer a seven year itch with its viewers?

  • O&M creates TVC for Perfetti’s new offering

MUMBAI: Perfetti Van Melle India (PVMI) has rolled out an ad campaign for launching its new offering, dual-coloured, dual-flavored liquid-filled gum – Center Fruit Mingle.

The television campaign has been created by Ogilvy & Mather.

Ogilvy & Mather group creative director Anurag Agnihotri said, “We wanted to create an ad that breaks all the common norms adopted for two-in-one commercials. This ad is both funny and crazy, a combination that has always worked wonderfully for us.”

According to the agency, the insight for this TVC came from the fact that two flavors are together ‘miley hue‘ in one gum.

The TVC shows a serious cricket match in progress. The batsman hits the ball into the air and to his surprise, the non-striker dives and catches it. The batsman turns to the umpire to seek resolution and is shocked to see the umpire himself celebrating with the non-striker. The commentator exclaims ‘Ye dono miley hue hain‘ (these two are in it together)‘… just like pineapple and green-apple are together in Center Fruit Mingle- The Mila-Jula Gum‘.

Directed by Prashant Issar, the campaign has been produced by Tubelight Films.

  • Bourbon uses coffee to the biscuit advantage in campaign for Cappuccino

MUMBAI: Bourbon, a chocolate biscuit brand, has unveiled TVC campaign for its new offering- Cappucino.

The television campaign, conceptualised by McCann Erickson, will be supported by other mediums like social media, outdoor and on-ground activation.

The new variant is designed to delight the youth inspired by one of their favourite pastimes of today’s– Coffee. Called Bourbon Cappuccino for the first time ever, Bourbon is now also square-shaped and has bitter-sweet coffee cream on the inside.

McCann Erickson regional creative director Anil Thomas said, “Coffee is a loaded symbol/ritual with the youth especially when it comes to the opposite sex. It is this symbolism that we have tried to charmingly capture through the situation of the ‘date night’ coming to an end. True to the Bourbon way of effortlessly but cheekily masterminding desired outcomes, the girl cleverly handles the situation by playing along with the boy and using the double entendre of coffee to her advantage.”

Bourbon has used research extensively for the launch of Bourbon Cappuccino. It has also carried out product testing, concept and communication testing to finalise the launch mix.

“In a blind product test, Bourbon Cappuccino significantly beat all direct and indirect offerings in the market place. In terms of product concept fulfillment, Bourbon Cappuccino gave us high fitment and satisfaction scores. With regards to communication, consumers found it highly enjoyable and in keeping with the brand values and core proposition of ‘andar se kuch..bahar se kuch,‘” Thomas added.

Directed by Prashant Issar, the ad film has been produced by Tubelight Films.

The ad film shows a guy who has come to drop a girl at her home in the night. She gets down from the bike and says bye as she walks towards her house but the guy expects something more than just a ‘bye’. She looks at the expectant guy and says softly with a touch of seduction in her voice: “Want to come in for some coffee?”.

The boy feels excited and enters the girl’s house. While he is waiting for the ‘moment’ he hears a sound, looks up in anticipation to see an old lady walking with the tray. She is the girl’s grandmother and offers the guy Bourbon Cappucino as she says “Hello! Mein Nikki ki nani hoon. Yeh lo coffee. Cappuccino lo na”. The guy looks stumped as he takes a bite and Nani asks, “Achcha hai na.”

The video then announces how the Bourbon is made and pulls out to see the coffee cup formation of biscuits and Bourbon cappuccino. The last scene shows Nikki and Nani saying bye to the sheepish looking guy. The girl has a wicked smile as Nani tells him, “Aate rehna beta” and Nikki completes the sentence with “Bourbon Cappucino ke liye!”
