    Anil Nair joins VMLY&R as India CEO

    MUMBAI: Global marketing agency VMLY&R today announced the appointment of Anil Nair as CEO, VMLY&R India. Based out of the Mumbai office, he will report to VMLY&R Asia co-CEO Tripti Lochan, who is based in Singapore. He will oversee VMLY&R’s India operation, driving growth and building on VMLY&R’s fully integrated service offering spanning creative, technology and data services.

    An influential marketing industry leader, Nair brings with him more than 24 years of advertising and digital experience, most recently as CEO (digital) and managing partner for Law & Kenneth Saatchi & Saatchi India.

    Nair was a part of the founding team at Law and Kenneth (L&K) Communications in 2002. He is recognised for his role in helping build Law & Kenneth Communications from the ground up into India’s largest independent agency, prior to its merger with Saatchi & Saatchi in 2014. Since that time, Anil has been responsible for growing the Saatchi & Saatchi business and integrated practice in India, with a focus on strategic planning, brand stewardship, and digital transformation.

    MUMBAI: Global digital marketing agency VML has announced the appointment of Venkatagiri Rao as Creative Head – India, as part of a significant step to solidify its creative capabilities. In his new role, Venkat will spearhead the office’s creative practice, which continues to form the foundation for the agency’s growth.

    Based in Mumbai, Venkat will report directly to Tripti Lochan, CEO – VML Southeast & India.

    Prior to DDB Mudra, Venkat held stints at Ogilvy, Ambience Publicis, Alok Nanda & Company and Fisheye Creative Solutions. He is best known for his work on Economic Times, Femina, Emirates, Victorinox, Tata Safari & Mid-day for which he has won various awards, including One Show, Effies, London- International & Abbys.

  • VML Qais appoints Natasha Kapur as business director

    MUMBAI: VML Qais has appointed Natasha Kapur as business director. This appointment marks the expansion of VML Qais‘ India operations to Delhi. The Delhi office will offer digitally-led marketing experiences with in-house service lines across strategic planning, creative, research and analysis, social and digital media.

    Kapur joins VML Qais with over a decade of experience in digital marketing, brand management and strategic initiatives across India, Asia Pacific, USA and Europe. She has worked with companies in the media, advertising and telecom sectors. She has conceptualised, co-created and driven digital marketing strategy and integrated marketing campaigns, both at a global and national level, building many successful brands during her career.

    In her earlier role, Kapur was senior manager – strategy and communications at Sony Mobile. She was responsible for developing and driving integrated marketing strategy and communications for Sony Mobile‘s mobile content and services ecosystem, that included mobile app stores, graphics, games, music, movies and device management services on a global level.

  • VML Qais ups Preethi Sanjeevi to client solutions director

    MUMBAI: VML Qais has promoted Preethi Sanjeevi to regional client solutions director. The role has been newly created for her to lead the business team across the APAC region and facilitate the agency’s expansion there.

    Sanjeevi held the post of business director prior to this announcement.

    She will be responsible for both client growth and acquisition across Asian markets. While Sanjeevi will be based out of Singapore, she will be spending a considerable part of her time in India as well to develop the business here.

    Sanjeevi has spent the last decade working in the marketing communications industry with experience in both traditional advertising and online marketing across India and SEA markets. She has also worked in the field of entertainment marketing.

    Sanjeevi has been with VML Qais for the past six years, during which she has led end-to-end digital consulting for clients including Changi Airport, Banyan Tree Resorts, Ministry of Defence, Dell, Revlon and Estee Lauder.

    VML Qais, WPP’s wholly-owned pure play digital network, is headquartered in Singapore and recently launched its India operation. The agency is the Asian arm of brand consulting agency VML and was formed after it acquired Qais Consulting in February 2012.

    VML Qais has a six-member team in Mumbai and is expected to set up operations in Delhi by the end of the year.
