MUMBAI: Artiste of Grease, the musical made in 1978, John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John are all set to recreate the Grease magic by getting together for a festive album out in time for Christmas.

Their chemistry in the now legendary 1978 film made them worldwide stars and their duet You‘re The One That I Want became the best-selling duet in history. The idea to get together and record from songs came from the memory of the success of that song, it is reported.

“From the moment we decided to do this, magic happened. Everyone we contacted agreed to do it,” said Travolta in a statement. “It just fell into place. With our busy schedules, I don‘t know how we got it done. John and I have always been connected. That‘s never gone away. When we‘re together, we have a good laugh and feel bonded to one another. We‘ve been through some amazing experiences together,” avered Newton-John.

The disc will also contain guest appearances of Barbra Streisand, Tony Bennett, James Taylor, Kenny G, Cliff Richard and jazz legend Chick Corea.

All songs will be Christmas staples barring one called I Think You Might Like It written by Jay Farrar, who incidentally, wrote the pair‘s famous hit.

MUMBAI: John Travolta has evinced interest in remaking of John Woo‘s film The Killer, as well as star in a biopic of legendary American football coach Vince Lombardi. Incidentally, Woo is set to produce the re-boot of his iconic 1989 action film The Killer that starred Chow Yun Fat. John H Lee will direct the film from a script by Josh Campbell.
The film will reportedly be shot in 3D, with producers Essential Entertainment and Lion Rock Productions (Woo and Terence Chang) behind it.
Travolta said the film about notorious crime boss John Gotti, in which Travolta has been attached in the titular role, is still in development. “The script still isn‘t right yet,” he said.
Earlier, Woo and Travolta have collaborated successfully on Face/Off and Broken Arrow.
“I‘m also considering doing a US film about the football coach Vince Lombardi, who coached my dad [Salvatore Travolta] before he went professional,” Travolta quipped. “I would play Vince Lombardi,” he added.
Legendary coach Lombardi is best known as the head coach of the Green Bay Packers during the 1960s when he led them to three straight league championships and the first two Super Bowls.
The Super Bowl trophy is named in his honour.
