    Travelxp partners with MEO to air its shows in Portugal

    Mumbai: Travelxp has partnered with Portugal’s telecommunications company, MEO, to expand its reach in European countries, after 11 years of success in television broadcasting.

    Its premium travel and lifestyle content will be available in high definition for MEO subscribers on channel 124 for MEO ADSL and MEO Fiber (with MEOBox), MEO Android and Apple TV and MEO Go and in 4K on position 400 on MEO Fiber (MEOBox 4k) and MEO Android and Apple TV.

    Its shows have been localised as part of the channel’s commitment to connecting with audiences in their native language. Travelxp is already available in 17 languages and in over 20 countries throughout Europe.

    This year, Travelxp will produce many more unique and interesting shows. Following the success of its previous shows, such as Off The Grid and Boarding Pass, Travelxp has raised the bar with new shows such as The Gypsies and The Savvy Nomad.

    The channel has established a strong foothold in many European countries over the years, and it now hopes to gain the love of viewers in Portugal in the same way it has in other countries.

According to a study I came across recently, the average daily television viewing per person in Portugal is four hours and 47 minutes.     Travelxp 4K ties up with Magyar Telekom to expand Europe footprint

    Mumbai: Travelxp 4K has announced its partnership with Hungarian telecom company Magyar Telekom to distribute the channel to viewers across Hungary.

    Travelxp 4K is one of the world’s leading travel channels. Earlier, its premium travel and lifestyle content was available only to Telekom 4K mini pay package viewers on channel number 74 since November 2021. “The channel’s shows have been fully localised keeping in line with its commitment to connect with audiences in their own language. Travelxp is already localised in 13 European languages and distributed in over 20 countries across Europe,” said the statement.

    MUMBAI: Starting from today the premium shows of Travelxp 4K are available to viewers in Italy on Channel number 225 on tivùsat, Italy’s free-to-air satellite platform. Travelxp 4K, the world’s first 4K HDR Channel made its debut in Ultra HD from January 2017 on SES’s Ultra HD distribution platform in North America, on Eutelsat’s Hotbird 13.0 in Europe, Middle East and North Africa & SES Astra 19.2 in Europe.

    MUMBAI: Expanding its reach in European countries, Travelxp 4K strengthens its reach in the Scandinavian country, Denmark now. Starting 01 September 2019, Travelxp’s premium shows are available to the audience on Waoo TV on Channel number 134. Among the recent launches of Travelxp include the central, eastern and western European countries like Germany, Slovenia, Slovakia and the UK to name a few.

    MUMBAI: Travelxp will feature an exclusive show on Africa’s oldest country, Ethiopia from September 8-12, 2019 at 8 pm on Travelxp 4K, Travelxp HD and Travelxp SD. Off The Grid explores an offbeat travel perspective by journeying into the unknown, doing the unconventional, going local and living the anticipation to experience something new.

    “Off The Grid Ethiopia” is a 5-episode series, featuring Ethiopia’s unparalleled heritage through rock-hewn churches of Lalibela, rare archaeological remains of early hominids in Addis Ababa, ancient palaces of Gondar and the fortified historic town of Harari. The show also introduces indigenous tribal communities like Karo, Hammar, Daasanach and Mursi. Glimpses of some rare species like a Gelada baboon, world’s only grass-eating monkey make the show one-of-its-kind.  

    OTG has been directed by the veteran travel director Rohan Patoley and hosted by an adventurous Emeline Nsingi Nkosi.     MUMBAI: One day ahead of the Las Vegas Consumer Electronics Show where Ultra HD is set to be a continuing hot trend, Eutelsat Communications has announced the launch Travelxp 4K at its popular Hotbird video neighbourhood. Travelxp 4K has concluded a multi-year contract with Eutelsat to leverage Hotbird’s market-leading penetration into cable and IPTV networks across Europe, the Middle East and North Africa.

    Travelxp 4K is scheduled to start broadcasting this month. The channel has selected HEVC encoding with 10bits of colour depth (1 billion colours), at 50 frames per second.

    “Travelxp 4K is all about bringing the world to homes in stunning resolution. 10 bit REC 2020 with HLG, HDR will make the viewing experience more immersive and vivid. It will also broadcast in 10bit REC 2020 colour space using the new HDR (High Dynamic Range) standard developed by the BBC and NHK that creates richer and more dynamic images by increasing the contrast ratio between the lightest and darkest areas of the screen and expanding the volume of colours displayed. This standard uses HLG (Hybrid Log-Gamma) technology, enabling legacy Standard Dynamic (SDR) displays to decode the HDR standard.
