    Trace launches 3 channels in Japan

    MUMBAI: Trace and Hulu have announced the launch of three of Trace’s premium music channels, as part of the Hulu channels line-up, currently available to 1.64 million subscribers in Japan, from 9 April 2018 at MIPTV in Cannes. The channels are Trace Urban, Trace Tropical, and Trace Gospel.

    Trace chief group commercial officer and CEO International Laurent Dumeau said, “We have been very keen to bring the Trace brand to Japan for the very first time and to deliver music channels to an audience in Japan who are passionate about urban, tropical and gospel music. We have been asked for many years to bring these channels to Japan, and now through our partnership with Hulu in Japan we can deliver.”

    Hulu in Japan is an online video subscription service offering over 50,000 films, TV dramas and animation for a fixed monthly price of 933 yen (excluding tax). The lineup includes “Hulu Premiere” offering exclusive first view in Japan, “Hulu Original” created by Hulu in Japan, catch up episodes and live music streaming.

    Trace is a global multi-platform media and entertainment company that connects with multicultural audiences through premium afro-urban music and content across 21 pay TV channels, radios, motion picture, online and mobile services in over 160 countries to 200 million viewers and listeners.

    Trace Urban is a hip-hop and R&B top-40 music channel. It showcases the best videos from these three music genres as well as interviews, shows and documentaries related to urban artists and culture.     Trace Tropical is the music channel exclusively dedicated to tropical music. It features the videos from Latin America, the Caribbean and the Indian Ocean in various music genres (Salsa, Reggae, Reggaeton, Merengue, Bachata, Zouk, Zumba and Soca). Trace Tropical also broadcasts concerts and documentaries on tropical music and cultures.

    Trace Gospel is the only channel that presents today’s face of gospel music, which has evolved tremendously and nowadays it is much more than just choirs. Through the best music videos of contemporary, urban, worship and traditional gospel, as well as interviews with upcoming and established artists, features and concerts, Trace Gospel shows the diversity of gospel music.

    Trace to launch its new OTT service Trace Play in Arkena

    MUMBAI: Arkena has announced that they have been selected to deliver an end to end OTT platform for Trace, the international multicultural TV network. To offer its fans and communities their favorite unlimited on-demand content, Trace is launching Trace Play, a new SVOD service.

    Trace audiences will be able to watch a broad range of original and curated content related to urban and black culture on any screen via web and mobile apps on iOS and Android. To support TRACE in its multiscreen development strategy, Arkena is providing the complete end-to-end platform covering the content management, back-office and delivery for both live and on-demand content.

    “Scalability is a key factor for our operations, especially as we plan to extend our OTT SVOD offering while addressing alternate business models such as IPTV,” says Trace CEO Olivier Laouchez.

    Arkena live head-end services will streamline live content preparation and distribution from around 10 live channels, increasing security thanks to multi-DRM management. The OTT platform will be powered by Arkena OTT Service Manager (OSM), the company’s open and cloud-based video distribution solution. OSM is a future proof solution boasting a vast array of turnkey components including content, metadata, offers and device management. The on-demand workflow based on Harmony, Arkena content management system, will process more than 4 000 hours of content.     This year Turkey is Country Focus of IFFI

    MUMBAI: The 43rd International Film Festival of India (IFFI) has announced that this year, Turkey would be its Country Focus.

    The ‘Country Focus‘ section intends to promote a greater understanding of the traditions and cultures of the focused country‘s society. It will showcase the way of life in Turkey through the intricately woven stories of the films.

    The section, that will showcase handpicked cinema from the culture and society of Turkey, will present a package of eight films that will include films like Do Not Forget Me Istanbul, ‘Hidden Lives, Love and Revolution, The Son, The Stranger, Trace, Voice of My Father and Where the Fire Burns.

    Showcasing films which are true reflections of life and times of the people of Turkey, the section brings works by Turkish directors like Aida Begic, Eric Nazarian, Hany Abu-Assad, Josefina Markarian, Omar Shargawi, Stefan Arsenijevic, Stergios Niziris, A. Haluk Ünal, F. Serkan Acar, Attila Cengiz, Filiz Alpgezmen, Tayfur Ayd?n, Orhan Eskiköy and ?smail Güne?.

    The IFFI would be held in Goa from 20 to 30 November.
