    Mumbai: Times Square, New York is a location almost everyone heads to when visiting the Big Apple. 28 October, this year, visitors were treated to another edition of the grand Diwali festival with the square between 46 and 48 the street being transformed into a colourful tapestry of Indian culture  NYC Mayor Adams, majority leader Chuck Schumer, director for United States domestic policy, Neera Tanden, and assemblywoman Jenifer Rajkumar lit a diya (lamp) at the famed ball drop tower with family and friends in attendance, symbolising the illumination of the soul and the dispelling of ignorance

    Viacom18’s Aapka Colors channel in the US partnered with Event Guru and sponsor Gopi Dairy came on board to people from various backgrounds in the spirit of love, friendship, and togetherness.

    The celebration culminated in an electrifying concert which started at 8 pm, featuring renowned artists from Bollywood, headlining the event was Mika Singh, the iconic Bollywood singer, and former American Idol contestant, Shuba. Along with, soul-stirring British Indian classical singer, Shivali. Their performances captivated the audience, making 2023’s  Diwali Festival at Times Square an unforgettable experience!

    MUMBAI: After almost 2 months of fierce competition, UC Miss Cricket Contest, an exciting campaign from UC Browser, has come to an end, with the winner Nishi Singh featuring on a billboard at New York Times Square. The 21-year old new rising star has also received cash prize of Rs 10 lakh, while the first runner-up Pari Sharma and second runner-up Aishwarya Singh have won Rs 5 lakh and Rs 2 lakh respectively. The 3 winners have also made an appearance on the Indian edition of Vogue magazine.

    UC Miss Cricket is India’s first online beauty contest driven only by users vote, without intervention from judges. Winner Nishi Singh, TV beauty from Mumbai, got the maximum “likes” on UC Browser for her warm and friendly personality.

    On winning the UC Miss Cricket contest, Nishi Singh said: “Not just winning the competition, it has been a great journey altogether during the entire campaign of UC Miss Cricket 2018.     UC Miss Cricket Campaign is driving increased Content Consumption and Engagement on UC Browser by Young Users

    UC Browser witnessed a jump of 50% unique visitors during the recently concluded IPL 2018. Having transformed itself into a leading content distribution platform, UC Browser provided cricket fans with over 2.5 lakh articles, to meet the increased demand for specialized content from users. The total page views saw a jump of 24% this cricket season and the users spent 10% more time catching up on cricket news versus last year. With more interesting voting and engagement brought by the first edition of UC Miss Cricket Contest this year, the campaign contributed towards the highest single day page views of 220 million for the IPL Cricket related content and total engagement of 45 million on UC Browser.

YouTubers Lalit Shokeen, Round2Hell and Madras Central added to the craze with their videos, generating combined views of a whopping 7.8 million.  Hashtags #MissCricket and #KeepScoring were also trending on Twitter while the video from Lalit Shokeen trended No. 1 on YouTube and Round2Hell’s video trended at No. 2.

    Life OK promotes ‘Mahakumbh’ at Times Square, New York

    MUMBAI: After launching a 360 degree campaign to promote its mytho-thriller offering Mahakumbh- Ek Rahasya, Ek Kahani, Life OK has set its foot on a global platform to generate buzz about the show. The channel has gone a step ahead to attract its viewers in The United States of America by showcasing Mahakumbh promos at Times Square, New York and few other parts of Manhattan.

     

    With this initiative, Mahakumbh has become the first ever Indian show to be promoted on Times Square billboards, claims the channel.

     

    The overseas campaign was executed with the support of 21st Century Fox, owned by the Star Network. Speaking about the initiative, Life OK spokesperson said, “Considering the storyline of the show, which has a lot of references to an international conspiracy related to Mahakumbh, it was important for us to grab attention of our loyal and potential overseas audiences. The promo was strategically screened on Times Square in order to reach out to the masses in one go.”

     

    The show is a contemporary mytho thriller that revolves around the journey of the enigmatic Rudra (played by Gautam Rode) who is hit by a life changing catastrophe while in the Kumbh Mela. The show features Gautam Rode, Seema Biswas, Payal Rajput, Manish Wadhwa, Robin Das, Ketki Dave and child actor Siddharth Nigam playing pivotal roles and is produced by Arvind Babbal productions.

     

    Mahakumbh- Ek Rahasya, Ek Kahani airs Monday to Friday, 8pm on Life OK.

    MUMBAI: Rainbow Entertainment’s WE TV celebrated the third season of their hit series Bridezillas with the Running of the Bridezillas. In a wedding themed obstacle course 20 brides-to-be ran across New York’s Times Square for a chance to win $25,000 towards their dream wedding.

    32-year-old Casey Scheulen of Washingtonville, NY walked away with the cash prize.

    Scheulen and her fiance, Tim McGowan, plan on using the money for their dream wedding, scheduled for 30 September at their Washingtonville home. Scheulen also added that if there was any money left she may just let Tim use it for a Las Vegas bachelor party.

    According to an official release, Bridezellas was recorded as the highest rated original series in the history of the network. On WE TV’s website www.we.tv, there is a mini-site for Bridezillas that features episode information, profiles of this seasons Bridezillas, wedding tips, a discussion board, downloads of a Bridezillas theme song, ringtones and AIM icons and a blog on wedding highs and lows.

    Recently the network had announced that it would be dropping the Women’s Entertainment from its name and adding a new tagline “WE Have More Fun” and Bridezellas was the first to feature the new tagline and logo, adds the release.

    In keeping with the essence of the channel that aims to appeal to women’s interests in pop culture, relationships and personal style, Running of the Bridezillas will air every Sunday at 10 pm ET/ 7 pm PT.
