    Mumbai: Times Now clocked a staggering 10.27 million YouTube views on Republic Day, making it the most-viewed platform among all the English news channels on YouTube, according to Playboard.

    IndiaToday was in the second spot with 5.86 million views, followed by CNN News18 who achieved 5.66 million views.

    This further solidifies Times Now’s position as the preferred news destination on digital platforms.

    Mumbai –  Times Group restructured the management-led editorial team recently. As per media reports, Times Network announced a new appointment of Navika Kumar to be Editor in Chief, Times Now, Times Now Navabharat with immediate effect from 28 December.

    Apart from Navika Kumar, the network announced the promotion of Ranjit Kumar, and Padmaja Joshi in the Times Network. Ranjit Kumar appointed as Managing Editor whereas Padmaja Joshi as Senior Executive Editor.

    Senior journalist Nikunj Dalmia has been elevated to Editor in Chief, ET Now, ET Now Swadesh. Madhavdas G was appointed as Pan India Input head.

    Times Network promoted veterans with the restructuring of the editorial department.

    Congratulating the winners, Shri Goyal asserted that the government has been working hard for the public good. Whether it was bringing tap water to every home or enabling 4 crore families to benefit under PM Awas Yojana, the government has taken steps to ensure food security, especially during lockdowns. He said that 80 crore Indians got twice the allocation of grain and not a single starvation death was reported in any state. This is a huge achievement, he added.

    Delivering the keynote address, Chief Guest Smriti Irani expressed her delight at the inspiring stories of the Amazing Indians who were honoured at the event. She also congratulated Times Now for assembling a jury of immense talent and diversity. “I am proud and humbled to share this platform with these Amazing Indians.     Mumbai: Noted TV news personality Rahul Shivshankar, who joined Network18 as a consulting editor on Monday, has started his innings at the network with a column on news18.com.

    The article titled, ‘Bharat’s Question for the G20: Are Some Global Concerns More Equal Than Others?’, explores the prioritisation of global concerns by the G20, emphasising that not all critical issues receive equal attention. The article calls for a more balanced approach, stressing the need to address various global concerns, including social and economic disparities, with equal urgency to achieve a fair and sustainable world order.

    A news industry veteran with nearly three decades of experience in print and television journalism, Rahul cut his teeth in the profession as a reporter for The Times of India. He was one of the youngest leader-writers for the edit page of the newspaper. When Times Now launched, he was a part of its founding team. He then went on to become the face of the channel as well as its editor.

    At Network18, he will add a strong digital dimension to his body of work and add further lustre to the star cast of anchors, reporters, editors, and commentators.

    Rahul has received critical acclaim for his coverage of the 26/11 Mumbai Terror attacks. He was invited to contribute to an anthology of investigative narratives about the attacks published by Roli Books.     Barc Week 42-45’22: News18 India outperforms Hindi GECs in viewership chart

    Mumbai: News18 India and CNN-News18 announced that they beat the competition in terms of audience. Both channels have continued to do better on the general entertainment channels (GEC) in terms of total reach and have maintained their dominance for several months.

    According to Barc data (market share per cent 24hrs TG:15+, HSM, Week 42-45’22, all day), TV9 Bharatvarsh stood second with 14 per cent market share, followed by News18 India with 15.4 per cent, Aaj Tak with 12.9 per cent, and India TV with 12.1 per cent.

    News18 India maintained its dominance in the much-coveted prime time slot as well. According to Barc’s recent listing, the channel garners a massive 16 per cent market share. Meanwhile, TV9 Bharatvarsh received 14.9 per cent, Aaj Tak received 13 per cent, and India TV received 11.9 per cent. When the Barc ratings resumed in March of this year, the channel opened at number one and has maintained that position ever since.

    Furthermore, CNN-News18 has a market share of 31.9 per cent, which is 19 per cent higher than Republic TV and 24 per cent higher than Times Now. Republic TV and Times Now retained their market shares of 28.2 per cent and 25.8 per cent, respectively.

    In prime time, CNN-News18 continued to outperform the opposition. In accordance with the Barc ratings (market share per cent 1800-2300, TG:15+ AB, India), Times Now came in second with a market share of 26.4 per cent, followed by Republic TV with 26.6 per cent, and CNN-News18 with 33.4 per cent for the week 42–45’22, which was Monday–Friday.

    News18 India has performed better than the top general entertainment channels in terms of reach as well. In comparison to Star Plus, which had a cumulative reach of 9.2 crore, and Sony SAB, & Zee TV, which had cumulative reaches of 8.07 crore and 7.9 crore, respectively, News18 India had a cumulative reach of 10.13 crore (Barc; HSM; TG: 2+; Cume reach ‘000; Avg; Wk 42-45’22).

    The News18 brands have been gaining strong traction even online, with their views rising rapidly across YouTube and other social media platforms.

    Mumbai:  Times Now has emerged as India’s most-watched English news channel on digital platforms in the news genre.

    According to a data released by Crowdtangle & Vidooly, Times Now clocked a staggering viewership of 116 million on YouTube and Facebook in October surpassing CNN-News18 (105 million), India Today (104 million), NDTV (82 million), and Republic TV (18 million). On the back of the fastest news, exclusive news breaks and most viewed prime-time shows – India Upfront and Newshour, the channel registered a phenomenal reach of over 1 billion on digital.

    Times Now claims to be a leader in the digital space with innovative content formats that seamlessly adapt to the preferences of viewers who are tech savvy, setting industry benchmarks with its distinct brand of action-oriented journalism that is firmly based on reliable, accurate, and decisive news reporting.

    According to Facebook Data, as informed by the media conglomerate, Times Now attracted over 210 million views on its digital films across Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, and Timesnownews.com with a series of digital-first videos that include comprehensive insights on every significant news topic of the day. With 2.35 million interactions, the highest number in the cohort, and a total reach of 125 million for the month of October on the platform, Facebook saw a channel with a high level of engagement.

    Mumbai: With 27 weeks of uninterrupted domination, CNN-News18 India has solidified its position as the industry leader. As per the recent Barc data for week 39 to week 42, CNN-News18 now accounts for more market share than Times Now and India Today combined.

    According to Barc data (market share, TG: 2+, India, Wk 42, All Day 24 hrs), CNN-News18 accounts for 33.7 per cent , while Republic TV, Times Now, and India Today account for 29.4 per cent, 26.9 per cent , and 5.8 per cent , respectively.

    CNN-News18 has also performed exceptionally well in the highly competitive prime time slot of 6 p.m. to 11 p.m.

    According to Barc data (market share per cent, 6 p.m. to 11 p.m., TG:15+AB, India Wk 39 to 42, Monday to Friday), CNN-News18 received 32.2 per cent, with Republic TV and Times Now fighting for second place with 28.9 per cent and 25.9 per cent market share, respectively.

    Meanwhile, India Today remained at the number four position with an 8.9 per cent market share in the category.

    Even on the digital front, the News18 brands have gained traction, with views steadily increasing across YouTube and other social media platforms.
